Madeira, often called the island of eternal spring, is a Portuguese island located in the Atlantic Ocean and part of the Madeira Archipelago. Volcanic Madeira offers green valleys full of lush vegetation, hillsides dotted with colorful flowers, wildly rugged rocks, mountains, lava remains, sea cliffs, and a beautiful coastline. The entire island is crisscrossed by ingeniously built irrigation systems called levadas, and the wild rocky gorges and untamed nature of the island are also worth admiring.
