The first day is intentionally relaxed so you don't have to stress about flight times or getting to your accommodation. If you arrive early, feel free to wander around Budapest city center, visit a few quick spots, and soak in the city's vibe. If you arrive in the evening, you won't miss anything important—the main sights are planned for the following days. However, I recommend getting some sleep tonight instead of staying up late, as tomorrow starts with an early wake-up call for the sunrise at Fisherman's Bastion.

Start your day at sunrise at Fisherman's Bastion and Matthias Church, then walk through the Buda Castle district via Buda Castle and the Castle Garden Bazaar to the Széchenyi Chain Bridge. After crossing to the Pest side, visit St. Stephen's Basilica, try a rose-shaped ice cream at Gelarto Rosa, and discover some less conventional stops like Moon Budapest and Zoo Café. The route continues to the Hungarian National Museum and the Great Synagogue. You'll also visit Gellért Hill for a panoramic view of the city. If you have any energy left, you can visit the illuminated Hungarian Parliament building in the evening or book a cruise on the Danube.

The third day combines architecture, history, and relaxation. First, you'll visit the fairytale-like Vajdahunyad Castle. Then, you'll move on to the monumental Hungarian Parliament building and the nearby Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial. You'll end the day on Margaret Island by the musical fountain, where you can soak up the pleasant evening atmosphere and relax after a full day's itinerary.

The last day is intentionally left more open for your departure from Budapest. If your flight is early in the morning, you'll just use it to head to the airport. But if you have a few hours to spare, you can return to some of the spots from previous days, visit the interior of a landmark or monument you might have missed, or take one last stroll through the city center. You can easily adjust the schedule based on your flight time, where you're staying, and your own energy levels.
