Today you'll experience exactly the kind of day most people imagine when they think of Mexico. Fine white sand, crystal-clear turquoise Caribbean water, and long palm-fringed beaches. The Cancún hotel zone is one of the most famous beach destinations in the world, and even though you'll find luxury resorts and modern shopping centers here, it still offers plenty of public beaches with wonderful swimming.

Today's schedule is intentionally relaxed. After your long journey, you can take a break, go for a swim in the Caribbean, or choose one of the optional attractions. It's entirely up to you whether you spend the day on a sun lounger with a book, snorkeling, or exploring the history of the area.

Today you have two of the most beautiful islands in the Mexican Caribbean in store for you. You'll spend the morning and afternoon on the picturesque island of Isla Mujeres, which has kept its quiet fishing village atmosphere to this day. You can look forward to dramatic cliffs, turquoise bays, and some of the most stunning views of the Caribbean Sea.

In the afternoon, you'll return to Cancún and head to the port of Chiquilá in the north of the Yucatán Peninsula, where a short ferry ride will take you to the island of Holbox. This means you'll wake up right in a tropical paradise, letting you enjoy the next day without having to travel in the morning.

Today you don't have to rush anywhere. You'll wake up on the island of Holbox, one of the most magical places in the Mexican Caribbean. No long transfers or packed schedules await you. Instead of paved roads, you'll find sandy paths, instead of cars, golf carts, and instead of the hustle and bustle of the city, just the sound of the sea and the song of tropical birds.

Holbox is part of the Yum Balam nature reserve, and thanks to its location, it has preserved the authentic atmosphere of a fishing village. The island is known not only for its beautiful beaches but also for the presence of flamingos, pelicans, whale sharks, and one of the most beautiful natural phenomena – bioluminescence.

After two days spent by the Caribbean Sea, today you will head inland to the Yucatán Peninsula. Valladolid, one of Mexico's most beautiful colonial cities, awaits you. Colorful house facades, cobblestone streets, pleasant squares, and historic buildings create an atmosphere that seems as if it hasn't changed much in centuries.

Although it is a popular stop on the way to Chichén Itzá, Valladolid still maintains a more relaxed pace than the more well-known tourist cities. Today is therefore perfect for leisurely walks, tasting local cuisine, and discovering the history of the Yucatán.

Today is one of the highlights of your whole trip. You'll visit Chichén Itzá, the most famous Mayan city in the world and one of the new seven wonders of the world. The monumental pyramids, temples, and observatories recall a time when Mayan civilization was one of the most advanced cultures in the Americas.

After a morning full of history, there’s an ideal reward – a swim in the crystal-clear water of Cenote Zací, a natural limestone cave that was one of the sacred sites of the Maya.

Today you'll say goodbye to colonial Valladolid and head back towards the Caribbean Sea. Your destination is Tulum, the only major Mayan city built directly on the cliffs above the turquoise sea. The combination of ancient temples, white sandy beaches, and palm trees creates a landscape that is among the most photographed in all of Mexico.

Unlike the monumental Chichén Itzá, Tulum feels more intimate. Instead of massive pyramids, you'll discover a fortified city that served as an important trading port. After exploring the archaeological site, a well-deserved rest awaits you on the beach right below the Mayan ruins.

Today is all about nature. Just a few kilometers from Tulum lies Akumal, a small coastal village whose name means "place of the turtles" in the Mayan language. And it's no coincidence – the local bay is one of the best places in the world to observe wild sea turtles right in their natural habitat.

After a morning of snorkeling, you're in for a change of scenery. You'll move from the coast into the tropical jungle, where you'll discover natural cenotes, underground caves, and quiet corners that remind you just how wild the Yucatán was before tourists arrived.

Finally, you'll end your evening in the lively resort town of Playa del Carmen, which will be your home for the night.

Enjoy your last full day in Mexico at a relaxed pace. You're heading to Playa del Carmen, one of the most popular resorts on the Riviera Maya. Unlike the luxurious Cancun, the town feels livelier and more authentic—blending local life with a pleasant holiday vibe. You can stroll along the famous Quinta Avenida pedestrian street, take one last swim in the Caribbean Sea, or pick up some souvenirs.

In the afternoon, you'll head back to Cancun, where your flight home awaits the next day.

Today is the time to say goodbye to Mexico. After ten days full of turquoise Caribbean, Mayan ruins, colonial cities, and tropical islands, it’s time to head to Cancún International Airport (CUN) for your flight home.

Even though today's schedule is short, I recommend leaving yourself plenty of time. Cancún Airport is one of the busiest in Latin America, and during peak tourist season, you may encounter long lines at check-in and security.
