We will visit a tropical botanical garden where we will admire the diverse biodiversity. Then we will take the cable car back to the old town centre. We'll walk through the famous Santa Maria street, passing the famous fish markets and the Cathedral of Sé. We will be able to compare what the Christmas markets look like here and in Madeira. Simply a different country, different mores. 😊 We will finish the city tour in the port. After that, everyone will be able to enjoy Funchal in their own way.
Mountain tops and gastronomic treasures of Madeira
Today marked by powerful experiences! Mountains with dramatic views reminiscent of New Zealand or South America are located below the highest mountain, Pico Ruivo (1,862m). From the saddle of Pico do Areiero we will take a ridge that will win the heart of every hiker with its unique views. If you don't feel up to the climb, you can take an alternative route, which our guide will introduce you to on the spot. A picnic in the hut below the peak will also be a wonderful experience. After enjoying the Atlantic rooftop, head to the Curral de Freiras for a liqueur tasting! Madeira offers you not only natural and cultural riches, but also interesting gastronomy. Today you will have the opportunity to discover it. The next stop will be a local restaurant in Funchal, where you will be able to prepare an espetada over an open fire. The western part of the island must not escape our attention. We will head to the popular town of Porta Moniz, where there is the possibility of swimming if the weather is good. We will also go to the plateau of Paul de Serra. This is where many of the typical images of Madeira come from. These are lush green marshy meadows with grazing cattle. All this is complemented by ancient laurel trees, which in places grow to bizarre shapes. Along the way, we stop at famous viewpoints and waterfalls.
