From June to the end of July, the sun doesn't set here. Midnight light bathes the mountains and fjords in a golden hue, and every evening hike turns into a breathtaking experience. Summer in Lofoten has something magical about it; the days are endless, the light is soft, and the air smells of the sea and mountain happiness. From the end of August, another kind of magic begins; the first Northern Lights dance across the sky, reminding us that autumn and winter also have something to offer.

Lofoten, an archipelago of about eighty islands beyond the Arctic Circle, looks like something out of a fairytale. Steep mountain peaks rise directly from the sea, the beaches have white sand, and the fishing villages breathe history. Bridges and tunnels connect the islands, and although only about 24,000 people live here, similar to Uherské Hradiště, Lofoten feels like a world of its own. The main town and center of activity is Svolvær.

Summer is the time for hikes along sharp ridges, evening paddleboarding in the never-setting sun, or quietly sitting on a pier with dried cod and a view that never gets old. The winter months can be beautiful, but for independent travel, they present a logistical and safety challenge. Summer is the ideal time for freedom, movement, and tranquility. And it is then that Lofoten shows its most beautiful face.
