Upon arrival in Amman, a significant regional metropolis, you will be amazed by its size. Especially if you arrive at night, you will have a unique view of the illuminated city. Then, simply orient yourself at the well-marked airport and pick up your car from a local rental agency. You will then drive to the hotel where you will spend your first night.
Next, we'll travel to the pre-booked hotel. Traffic in Amman can be chaotic, but if you have experience from Southern Europe, such as Italy, you'll quickly adapt to the local style.
Regarding the local currency, I recommend exchanging some money for Jordanian dinars. However, it's possible to pay with US dollars in most tourist services.
The second day will be devoted to a walking tour of Jordan's capital, Amman. This day focuses on exploring the local King Abdullah I Mosque. Here, you can borrow suitable attire that covers you from head to toe and enter the entire complex, making you feel like a local.
You will also visit the Amman Citadel. The tour includes the King Hussein Mosque, which can be seen from almost all of Amman because it stands on a nearby hill. Admission is free.
The city of Amman is a true metropolis, with a population exceeding 4 million and very busy street life. You can escape the hustle and bustle in the local cafes, of which there are many throughout the city. You will also find a large number of restaurants, from local cuisine to Indian. It is recommended to use Google Maps, as they mark all important points, including restaurants.
If you like art, I recommend visiting a gallery where you can buy not only paintings but also smaller souvenirs. You can find it if you walk down the stairs from the Amman Citadel towards Al-Hashemi Street.
The Roman amphitheatre probably dates from the 2nd century AD. It was restored in the 1950s, but the stone used is not original.
The citadel of Amman is one of the longest continuously inhabited places in the world. The Temple of Hercules, which also dates from the 2nd century AD, can be seen in the photographs. In the past, there was probably a monumental statue of Hercules, son of the supreme Greek god Zeus. However, only three fingers and part of an elbow have survived. The citadel also includes the Umayyad Palace, which you can recognize by its distinctive dome.

The road that runs around the Dead Sea was built in the 1990s in close proximity to the Dead Sea. Today, it is located several hundred meters from its shores.

There are occasional small refreshment stands along the way, but these cannot be relied upon - be self-sufficient. You can leave your car in the car park at Mala Petra. There is the option to use the local beaches or visit the flagpole, or a cruise on the Gulf of Aqaba can be arranged to admire the underwater world. The cruise is arranged on the spot - there is no need to look for anyone, if you are around the port, the ferrymen will approach you themselves. It is advisable to haggle on the price.
The afternoon is reserved for the transfer back to Amman. It is necessary to cover approximately 350 km, but the landscape we pass through is so beautiful and varied – from deserts to mountains – that the journey passes very quickly. In approximately four hours, you are back in Amman. Here you will enjoy your last evening on a local rooftop viewpoint.
The last day of the trip involves returning home. You'll be returning the car at the airport, so make sure you get there early enough to have plenty of time for everything.
