You will discover the spiritual side of Beijing in the Lama Temple and walk through the traditional Yandai Xie hutong. You can buy tickets in advance, and they are valid for 4 days. We bought them at the hotel reception the day before, but they can also be purchased directly at the entrance to the park (228 CNY).

If you have time before your departure, head to Tianmen Mountain, famous for its iconic Heaven's Gate and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The modern 72 Strange Buildings complex offers an interesting contrast of contemporary architecture inspired by local legends. 

Visit the traditional water town nicknamed the Venice of Shanghai and stroll through the picturesque streets along the canals. The bustling Nanjing Road then offers a contrast in the form of a modern metropolis, shopping arcades and a lively urban atmosphere.

Visit the local zoo and enjoy encounters with typical and exotic animals. A walk through the Xintiandi district will then take you to the modern part of the city, where historical architecture blends with cafes, restaurants, and a pleasant atmosphere.

If you have time before your departure, take a trip to the city center to see the Shanghai Tower. We went straight to the airport from the hotel, but this attraction might be great. You can get here by subway. It's supposedly better to buy tickets in advance.
