After your rest, you're sure to be full of energy, which is the perfect time for a trip to Dajti National Park. There's no need to worry about a long climb, as the cable car will comfortably take you to the top of the mountains. You'll enjoy a wonderful view on the way up, and an even better one from the lookout at the top, where the whole city below you and the surrounding landscape will be spread out like the palm of your hand. If you're in the mood for a bit of a longer walk, you can choose from several hiking trails that will lead you along the ridge as far as you like. There are also experiences waiting for you in the city, this time of a historical nature. Head out to visit Bunk'Art 2, a unique exhibition located in a former concrete bunker right in the center of Tirana. This one specifically focuses on the period of Albania's occupation by the communist regime and is definitely worth a visit. Just a few steps around Tirana Castle, you can visit the breathtaking Mosque of Namazgah, and on your way back to the hotel, stop by the New Bazaar for souvenirs or just to soak up the market atmosphere.

A full day is perfect for a trip to the nearby town of Krujë and its castle with a market where time seems to have stood still. Wander through the castle courtyards, take in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and stroll down the narrow cobblestone street filled with stalls selling everything from herbs and honey to traditional costumes and woolen slippers. For this trip, I recommend booking an organized tour, as you'll also get to visit the Sari Saltik viewpoint above the city, home to a unique shrine hidden deep within the rock where Islam meets Christianity and a healing spring supposedly flows. Just a few steps higher, you can look out over the entire valley, which will be laid out before you like the palm of your hand.

Unfortunately, all adventures must come to an end at some point, and your stay in Tirana is no different. If you have an afternoon or evening flight, you can use your remaining time for one last walk through the city center or visit one of the countless cafes or pastry shops along the way. And then, all that's left is the trip back to the airport.
