Well, we didn't exactly start with typical Hungarian food, but this place caught our eye right away - they have a lot of choices from vegan, vegetarian to gyros and more.
About 30 minutes long ride, beautiful views from below and of the city from above.
Hotel near the centre with excellent and rich breakfast and unlimited wellness, which we had by the way on the first day just for ourselves :-)
A market that looks more like a train station. We read that it's a popular place for shopping and tasting. We can use the word "shopping", so we bought some souvenirs and we also couldn't leave without tasting how else but langos and typical goulash in bread :-) Oh, and also in 2013 this market was voted the most attractive market in the world by CNN TV. The only thing to keep in mind is that it's closed on Sundays.
In Hungary they have a statue to celebrate their independence. 14 meters high figure of a woman holding a palm leaf. The hike up the mountain is a bit of a slog, but the views of the whole city are really worth it :-)
Young building (dating from the beginning of the 20th century) The towers, walls, statues and arcades remind us of a castle from a fairy tale👸
This landmark is definitely worth seeing, and we think it's nicer from the opposite shore than standing right next to it. It is best viewed in the evening when it is illuminated. We were only looking at it, not taking pictures.
We couldn't help but visit the name "Margaret's Island" :))
What to definitely visit in Budapest during the day, but for us definitely especially in the evening is this place. Budapest is really alive in the evenings. There are a lot of cafes, bars and discotheques that are built in ruins - old buildings. An original place with a really original, alternative style. A bar with painted walls, where we also contributed an illustration on one of them. 🖊
