You'll get your first taste of Namibian roads, a breathtaking drive through Spreetshoogte Pass, and your first glimpses of the endless Namib Desert. You'll end the day at a peaceful lodge in the heart of the African wilderness, where you can relax after your journey and, with a bit of luck, spot your first wildlife at the local waterhole. One of the absolute highlights of the trip. Set off before sunrise to catch the golden hour among the iconic Sossusvlei dunes. You'll visit the legendary Deadvlei with its ancient acacia trees, climb the majestic Big Daddy or Dune 45, and end the day with a walk through the narrow Sesriem Canyon. In the afternoon, you'll head towards Swakopmund, enjoying more stunning scenery and a few interesting stops along the way.

After a demanding day in the desert and a long journey, a pleasant change awaits you today. Swakopmund is a city with a unique atmosphere where German colonial architecture meets the wild Atlantic coast. Take a stroll through the historical center, have a delicious lunch, walk along the beach, and enjoy a more relaxed pace. In the afternoon, I recommend heading to nearby Walvis Bay, where you can watch flamingos and stop by the iconic pink salt pans.
