Day 1
On the first day, you arrive and check in quietly. There's a great patisserie just outside the station, so before you head towards your accommodation, I recommend you go there and buy some sfogliatelle. Later, towards the evening, you should try one of the best pizzerias around Materdei - Starita. You can walk there or use the metro Linea 1.
After a great dinner at Starita pizzeria, you can visit Largo Maradona in the Quartieri Spagnoli district of Naples. This place is famous for the large mural of Diego Maradona, who is revered as a legend in Naples.
Day 2
On the second day, you'll explore the centre and coast of Naples along with the best pastry shops and other establishments. Start with a metro ride from Museo station and take a ride to Toledo station, known for its artistic design. You'll visit Galleria Umberto, Piazza Plebiscito, home to the Royal Palace and the Duomo. Next door is the San Carlo Theatre. Afterwards, you will walk past Castel Nuovo and Castel dell'Ovo. Finally, you will stroll along the Lungomare and return through the beautiful Chiaia district.
Day 3
On the third day, you'll discover more interesting sights in the heart of Naples, such as the Cathedral of the Assumption, the Neapolitan Underground and the bust of Pulcinella. For lunch, head to the restaurant made famous by a scene with Julia Roberts in Eat, Meditate, Love.
I recommend two options for the afternoon, depending on your preferences and also the weather. Either you can visit one of the beaches, which is located further away from the centre but very beautiful and ideal for relaxing, or you can take a walk in the beautiful Capodimonte Park. Capodimonte is not only a large park, but also the home of an important Neapolitan museum with a rich collection of art, including works by masters such as Caravaggio, Titian and Raffael. In addition to the museum, there is a former royal palace and beautiful gardens with panoramic views of the city.
If you still have energy and appetite left, I recommend going for an aperitivo or other drink at the Libreria Berisio bar.
