The adventure begins. Upon arrival, pick up your rental car (following the instructions you'll receive before your flight) and head north to the mountain town of Zărnești. The rest of the day is free for you to explore based on your arrival time.

Today you'll meet rescued bears in a unique sanctuary and explore an interactive exhibition about the nature of Piatra Craiului National Park. You'll wrap up the day with a visit to the iconic Bran Castle, famous for the legends of Count Dracula.

You can look forward to a journey through a monumental limestone gorge and a moderately challenging hike to a popular mountain hut, where a well-deserved reward awaits you in the form of local specialties and stunning views of the Carpathian ridges. It's a full-day trip that any average hiker can handle.

Today is a break from driving. Take the local train from Zărnești to the heart of Transylvanian history – Brașov. The city will charm you with its medieval streets and panoramic views.

In the morning, you'll check out in Zărnești and head towards the southern side of the Carpathians. You'll tackle the legendary Transfăgărășan high-mountain road, which is the highlight of this itinerary, and arrive in the historic town of Curtea de Argeș in the evening.
