There are several ways to get from the airport to the city center, where you’ll be staying. Here are four options. The choice is yours, but if you're a beginner traveler, I highly recommend Uber for convenience and safety.
Public Transport Card – Tarjeta de Movilidad
I recommend getting a public transport card as soon as you arrive at the airport. You can buy it from a vending machine located on the ground floor of the arrivals hall.

The metro is the least expensive way to reach the city, but I do not recommend using it during rush hour (7:30-9:30 AM & 5:00-8:00 PM), making the journey much more difficult.

A great budget-friendly alternative to taxis. The Metrobús stop is outside between PUERTA 6 and PUERTA 7.
Take the orrange Line 4 from Terminal Aérea (direction: San Lázaro) to San Lázaro. Transfer to the pink Line 1 (direction: Observatorio) and ride to Pino Suárez station. There, transfer to the blue Line 2 (direction: Tasqueña), and ride to Villa de Cortés. Exit and follow Google Maps to your accommodation.
Uber – Recommended
Although Uber fares from the airport tend to be higher than elsewhere in the city, it’s usually cheaper than a taxi. If you prefer safety and comfort without transfers, this is your best bet.

A great budget-friendly alternative to taxis. The Metrobús stop is outside between PUERTA 6 and PUERTA 7.
Take the orrange Line 4 from Terminal Aérea (direction: San Lázaro) to San Lázaro. Transfer to the pink Line 1 (direction: Observatorio) and ride to Pino Suárez station. There, transfer to the blue Line 2 (direction: Tasqueña), and ride to Villa de Cortés. Exit and follow Google Maps to your accommodation.
Uber – Recommended
Although Uber fares from the airport tend to be higher than elsewhere in the city, it’s usually cheaper than a taxi. If you prefer safety and comfort without transfers, this is your best bet.

There, transfer to the blue Line 2 (direction: Tasqueña), and ride to Villa de Cortés. Exit and follow Google Maps to your accommodation.

As a general rule, avoid buying it near busy roads and check how popular the food stall is – this ensures the vendor has high turnover, meaning you’ll get fresh food.
- Taquerías – A popular spot where you can enjoy the holy grail of Mexican cuisine: the taco. There are several types of tacos, mostly made from meat or offal, but they also vary by region. The most beloved taco in Mexico is the tacos al pastor, originating from Mexico City. Tacos are served with both spicy and mild salsas. If you're not used to spicy food, I recommend starting with a less spicy salsa (salsa menos picante) because the very spicy ones (salsa muy picante) are REALLY hot!
