Visitors can reach the sanctuary by climbing the historic Portico di San Luca, a covered walkway lined with 666 arches that stretches over three kilometers.
If you want to go to the sanctuary from the city centre, you can use the San Luca Express, a tourist train that leaves from Piazza Maggiore and takes you right to the foot of the hill where the sanctuary is located. Alternatively, you can take bus number 20 or 21 from the city centre to the San Luca stop and then walk up the hill to the sanctuary. The walk takes about 30 minutes and offers beautiful views of the city and surrounding hills. Another option is to take a taxi.
