After arriving at the airport, just exit the arrivals hall and you will find a bus stop in front of Terminal A on your left. From there, bus no. 15 runs directly to the city center of Kerkyra. You can buy a ticket directly from the driver for €2 per person (price valid in 2026) and the trip takes about 10 minutes. Get off at the San Rocco stop.

If you prefer a more comfortable transfer, taxis are also available in front of the airport building. However, this is a more expensive alternative, and the price of the ride may vary depending on the carrier.

Get off at the San Rocco bus stop.

The first place you shouldn't miss while exploring Corfu is the majestic Old Fortress, which I recommend visiting in the morning when there are fewer visitors at the entrance. The fortress is open daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM during the summer season (entry information here). You can buy tickets at the entrance, with admission costing €10 per person (price valid in 2026), while European Union citizens under 25 get in for free. 

During the tour, you'll discover historical buildings, museum exhibits, and hidden corners of this impressive fortress. The reward for climbing to its highest point is a stunning panoramic view of the city and the surrounding coastline. There is also a cozy cafe on the premises where you can relax with a coffee and enjoy the view of the sea and the sailboats.

Before visiting the Museum of Asian Art, I recommend stopping by the surrounding gardens, which are a lovely spot for a quick break. The peaceful environment, full of greenery and flowers, creates a pleasant atmosphere and is an ideal place for a short walk.

After exploring the island in the morning, you can stop for lunch at Pane e Souvlaki restaurant. It's a popular spot in the city center that serves excellent traditional Greek cuisine.

After a delicious lunch, take your time for some leisurely exploring of the city. Stroll through the narrow stone streets, peek into local souvenir shops, and discover hidden corners of the historic center. 

I also recommend trying the candied kumquat sold in almost every shop. It's a signature fruit of Corfu, which is grown here extensively. It's used to make liqueur, jams, ice cream, and various sweets.

If you still feel like exploring after your walk through the city, head over to Kerkira Beach. Although it's a smaller city beach, it's perfect for a quick refresh on a hot day. If you don't feel like swimming, you can just take a walk along the coast.

I recommend stopping by to taste this delicious dessert, which will captivate you with its delicate flavor and wild strawberry filling.

During your evening walk through the city, stop by the Spianada Music Pavilion, which is beautifully illuminated after dark. It's located in Spianada Park, where you can sit on the benches and relax after a long day of exploring. Concerts are sometimes held here throughout the year, so if you're lucky, you can enhance your evening with some live music.

To rent a car, you need to get to the airport. You can get back to the airport from the city by taking bus no. 15 from the San Rocco stop. The bus will take you directly to the airport terminal.

Pick up your car according to the instructions and you're ready to start exploring the island. When driving around the island, I recommend staying alert, especially in busier parts of towns and on narrower roads. Traffic can be a bit hectic at times, but with careful driving, there's nothing to worry about.

You can drive your car to the free parking lot at Glyfada beach. Since it often gets full, especially during the summer season, you can also find spots along the access road where you can park on the shoulder.

From the parking lot, it's just a short walk to Glyfada beach to relax by the sea, go for a swim, or simply soak up the pleasant atmosphere. You can also rent sunbeds with umbrellas. Nearby, there is a small shop where you can buy snacks, drinks, or beach supplies like inflatables and other swimming accessories.

You can drive to the free parking lot by Loggas Beach. Breathtaking cliffs await you here, creating a unique landscape on the west coast of Corfu. The view of the tall rock walls, turquoise sea, and endless horizon is an experience you'll remember for a long time. 

If conditions are favorable, you can also head down to the beach itself. However, it's good to know that at high tide, the beach is often underwater and inaccessible. The path down is quite steep, so I recommend being extra careful.

Right on the cliffs, you'll find a restaurant where you can treat yourself to a tasty lunch, a refreshing drink, or a good cup of coffee. It also features a small observation deck with a glass floor that offers a unique view of the sea and the cliffs. It's the perfect spot to take a break and soak in the unique atmosphere of this place.

On your way back, I recommend stopping at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Vlacherna. This picturesque monastery is situated on a small islet, which is connected to the mainland by a narrow stone causeway.

Just a few meters from the monastery is one of the most popular spots for plane spotting. Planes fly just a few meters overhead while taking off and landing, making this spot a unique stop during your trip.

For dinner, I recommend visiting Pitta Pappou, where you can enjoy an excellent traditional Greek gyros.

And at the end of the day, you can stroll through the evening streets, treat yourself to a nice drink or dessert, and enjoy a pleasant final evening in the city's historic center.

If you have some time left after checking out before your flight, you can stop for brunch at Vittori All Day Long café. A pleasant atmosphere, quality coffee, and a selection of delicious meals await you, making for an ideal way to brighten up your final moments on the island. 

Finally, after brunch, you can stop by Faliraki Bathing Beach. This pleasant beach is the perfect spot for a final refreshing dip in the sea. 

After visiting all the places, head to the airport to return your rental car. Make sure to leave yourself enough time to comfortably make your flight. Don't forget to be at the airport at least 2 hours before your departure.
