Forgotten beauty in the middle of the Atlantic
This beautiful and forgotten corner of the world is found in the North Atlantic Ocean on the southwestern edge with the Norwegian Sea. To give you a better idea, it lies north of Scotland somewhere halfway between Norway and Iceland.
It's no coincidence that National Geographic magazine has rated this archipelago as the most beautiful in the world, although its beauty is probably more appreciated by lovers of cooler weather, Nordic countries and unspoilt nature.
At first glance, the archipelago looks fabulous, with massive cliffs that often have waterfalls flowing from them, green islands and picturesque villages. Parrots roam everywhere, as do the sheep that give the islands their name - Faroese means sheep. Not so, since there are more of them than people! 😍💯
We'll be touring them together, mostly in rental cars. They are not very large in size, so don't expect many hours of driving. We can drive from one end of the islands to the other in an hour and a half. 🙂 The trip is designed for the more active traveller, so we can explore some of the Faroese hills and iconic sights together.

Mulafossur Waterfall

Tjørnuvík is located in a deep valley with no other villages in sight. There are no more than 55 houses in the village and even more small streams flowing down from the mountains. The view is especially impressive on rainy days. Tjørnuvík is a destination that travellers never regret preferring for their holidays in the Faroe Islands.
There is a beautiful beach in front of the village. This is the most popular surfing spot in the Faroe Islands. All the houses are located along the beach 🏖

Description of the route:From Tjørnuvík take the main road towards Klaksvík, the journey takes approximately 1 hour by car.
Klaksvík is the largest town on the island of Borðoy and offers a variety of accommodation and dining options.
About the location: Klaksvík is a fishing town with a harbour atmosphere and various attractions to explore. You can visit the local museum, the harbour or take a stroll through the picturesque streets of the town.
Klakkur (413 m above sea level)

When you're in the village of Kunoy on the west side of Kunoy, you'll have a great view of Kalsoy Island. You'll see the Kalsoyarfjørður fjord, where the aerial filming of Kalsoy Island was captured in the James Bond film No Time To Die💪

On the last day, we pack our stuff and head to the airport early to return the cars. Depending on the departure time, there will still be a chance to buy souvenirs to take home
Short and easy walk towards the Trøllkonufingur viewpoint.
There is a Faroese legend attached to this rock about a giant witch who came to the Faroe Islands to draw them to Iceland. However, she petrified in the sun and fell into the ocean, leaving only her finger above the surface. 🙂☝🏻 It takes us about 15 minutes to walk from the parking spot to the viewpoint on a paved road.

There is a Faroese legend attached to this rock about a giant witch who came to the Faroe Islands to draw them to Iceland. However, she petrified in the sun and fell into the ocean, leaving only her finger above the surface. 🙂☝🏻 It takes us about 15 minutes to walk from the parking spot to the viewpoint on a paved road.

Forgotten beauty in the middle of the Atlantic
This beautiful and forgotten corner of the world is found in the North Atlantic Ocean on the southwestern edge with the Norwegian Sea. To give you a better idea, it lies north of Scotland somewhere halfway between Norway and Iceland.
It's no coincidence that National Geographic magazine has rated this archipelago as the most beautiful in the world, although its beauty is probably more appreciated by lovers of cooler weather, Nordic countries and unspoilt nature.
At first glance, the archipelago looks fabulous, with massive cliffs that often have waterfalls flowing from them, green islands and picturesque villages. Parrots roam everywhere, as do the sheep that give the islands their name - Faroese means sheep. Not so, since there are more of them than people! 😍💯
We'll be touring them together, mostly in rental cars. They are not very large in size, so don't expect many hours of driving. We can drive from one end of the islands to the other in an hour and a half. 🙂 The trip is designed for the more active traveller, so we can explore some of the Faroese hills and iconic sights together.

The fourth day offers a challenging but beautiful hike to Mýlingur and relaxation in the picturesque village of Tjørnuvík.
Tjørnuvík is located in a deep valley with no other villages in sight. There are no more than 55 houses in the village and even more small streams flowing down from the mountains. The view is especially impressive on rainy days. Tjørnuvík is a destination that travellers never regret preferring for their holidays in the Faroe Islands.
There is a beautiful beach in front of the village. This is the most popular surfing spot in the Faroe Islands. All the houses are located along the beach 🏖

Short and easy walk towards the Trøllkonufingur viewpoint.
There is a Faroese legend attached to this rock about a giant witch who came to the Faroe Islands to draw them to Iceland. However, she petrified in the sun and fell into the ocean, leaving only her finger above the surface. 🙂☝🏻 It takes us about 15 minutes to walk from the parking spot to the viewpoint on a paved road.
