Worldee Tip: From the bullring we went to the lookout (you'll see it right by the arena), then continued to the main bridge, crossed it. You can see the smaller bridge from the overlook, which is where we went and did a little loop. There are gardens and various viewing platforms to visit along the way.

Camino del Rey is a trail located in the Sovince of Desfiladero de los Gaitanes in the province of Málaga, Spain. It is known as one of the most dangerous trails in the world. The road was built in the early 20th century to facilitate access to the hydropower plant El Chorro. However, it deteriorated over time and began to be abandoned. In 2015, the trail was reconstructed and reopened. The Camino del Rey has become a popular tourist destination for adventurous hikers looking for an adrenaline rush and breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery. The trail is about 7.7 kilometers long and offers stunning views of the gorge and the Guadalhorce River.
You must have a reservation in advance, which we have made for you. Together with your guide, you will start the trail at 10:40 am. However - it is strongly recommended to arrive at the parking lot about 1 hour ahead of time. If you don't want to go on the trail with a guide, ask them when you register, it shouldn't be a problem. You can get back to the parking lot (the trail is one-way) after completing the trail by shuttle bus, which runs regularly.
- the ticket will be presented at the entrance and exit of the trail, you must always carry the document for which it was purchased (i.e. the ID or passport you provided)
- after parking, go directly to the Municipalitie of Ardales (signs are in place)
- here you will pick up your safety gear

PARKING ATTENTION (map in the photo gallery)
There are three spaces:
- near the main entrance (municipal car park P1, Caminito de Rey, Ardales) - ideal location, you can reach the entrance in 20 - 35 min
- Parking near El Chorro exit (Álora, P2) - must be here an hour in advance, shuttle bus will then take you to the first parking lot
- Parking at the Visitors Reception Centre Parking (P) - one hour in advance is required, a shuttle bus will then take you to the first car park
The shuttle bus ticket is also valid for multiple rides throughout the day of your visit. The ride takes about 15 to 20 minutes, running from 7:50 am to 8:00 pm.

The parking cost us the aforementioned €2 and was the closest to the entrance, but you still have a 1.5km walk to the entrance. If you don't need to go with a guide (I don't recommend it, in August and I assume September it will still be crazy hot, the guided group moves slowly and you're in a big crowd), at the entrance when checking your tickets say you'd like to go alone, then if you arrive early they'll let you in earlier as well and you won't be waiting for a group. The trail is beautiful and not difficult at all.
The trail is one way and there is a shuttle bus back again for a small fee. It always runs at all hours and at half past one. From the official Camino trail exit you walk another min 30 min to the shuttle (although after a while you will see the 300m shuttle sign and helmet drop off, it's further, they have it measured oddly). However, just before the shuttle you can refresh yourself with a cold drink and something small to eat.

Worldee tip: We headed here for wine and a late dinner. It's really crowded and a little bit out of order, but we loved the place, the jamón (cured ham cut from a pig's leg) and pulled pork on bread was fabulous (and everything else 😀 ) and they had a super wine selection. Thousands of tourists visit the Alhambra every year to immerse themselves in the history and impressive beauty of this place.
Worldee tip: The fortress is best photographed from the church on the opposite hill. Put Mirador de San Nicolas in your navigation.

Worldee tip: We ate twice at La Visera restaurant (it was open until 5:30pm, if you arrive by 4:15pm you can eat in peace) and were very satisfied. Perfect service, always included a small appetizer and a small ice cream for dessert.

Worldee tip: I had a luxurious oxtail burger here - in general everything typical Spanish looked very nice, just leave out the salads (they really aren't worth it here).
You can take the tour inland or a slightly longer one along the coast. Both groups can visit the Nerja Cave (info Day 5) and the Balcony of Europe (info Day 9) together if there is enough time, or head to one of the beaches (they are much nicer along the way than in Málaga).
Málaga is the second largest city in Andalusia and the birthplace of the famous artist Pablo Picasso. The city combines a modern atmosphere with a rich history and culture. Málaga offers urban beaches, a picturesque old town with narrow streets and historical landmarks such as the Málaga Alcazaba, a fortress with Moorish roots, as well as a cathedral famous for its incomplete façade. Málaga is also known for its rich cultural life, museums and excellent gastronomy, making it a popular destination for visitors looking for a combination of relaxation and exploration.
To be honest, Málaga isn't a particularly impressive city for us. Time is better spent on the beaches around Nerja, etc. However, the tapas here are good, the ice cream too, you probably won't go wrong. Just avoid the restaurant in the centre called Helena 😀 , it was very poor for a lot of money.
The town beach doesn't offend but doesn't impress either, the walk through the castle is pleasant. The city's cathedral is also nice, but after Granada you probably won't be impressed 😁. The only thing I would highlight here is the nice palm promenade, it runs from the beach along the castle. At the end of it we had probably the best sangria of our stay at Casa de Vinos La Odisea, Subida Coracha, 2 🍷

Cueva de Nerja is a stunning natural cave located near the town of Nerja in the province of Málaga. This cave is known for its huge halls, stalactite and stalagmite formations and its archaeological value.
The cave is considered one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Spain. It contains evidence of prehistoric human settlements and cave art. It is believed to have been inhabited more than 30,000 years ago by prehistoric populations. One of the most interesting features of the cave is the "Column", a huge stalactite 32 metres high.
Open 9:30am - 6pm, daily. Tickets can be purchased online: https://entradas.cuevadenerja.es/en/. According to our experience in August 2023, there is no need to buy tickets in advance.
Worldee Tip: We visited this beach on our way. It is a rocky beach with azure water full of fish. It is much less crowded than the beach a cove over, which is slightly better rated. The beach is descended by terrain, I recommend suitable shoes (at least not flip flops). However, there are countless beaches all along the coast, google maps will show you them beautifully. Faro de Cabo de Gata is a lighthouse located on the coast in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park, in the province of Almería. Cabo de Gata is a peninsula and coastal area known for its natural beauty and unique landscapes. The lighthouse is an iconic landmark in the area and has played a key role in maritime navigation for many decades. Its construction dates back to 1863 and it is strategically located on top of the cliff, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding area.
The Playa de los Genoveses beach is one of the beautiful beaches located in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. This beach is located near the town of San José and is known for its white sand, beautiful waves and incredible views of the surrounding scenery, including small dunes where cacti and agaves grow. The beach got its name from an event in 1147, when a fleet of 200 ships from Genoa, Italy, camped in the bay for at least two months.
From the beach you can reach the great viewpoint of Morron de los Genoveses by a pleasant walk of about 3 km.

Las Chorreras or Los Canales de Padules, are natural springs and canals located in the Padules area of Almeria. These canals are part of a magnificent natural landscape that includes waterfalls and cascades created by the flow of water from the Sierra de Gador mountains.
Las Chorreras are a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, offering the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area, including lush vegetation, rock formations and clear water. The canals and waterfalls are formed by natural springs and the flow of water across the landscape. The ideal walk can be done along the riverbed, but proper shoes are a must.

Tabernas is a town known primarily for its arid desert landscape and as the location of many famous western films. In fact, the desert landscape around Tabernas has similar characteristics to the American West. Many famous films, including Sergio Leone's For a Fistful of Dollars, were shot in this area. Sometimes Tabernas is even called the "Hollywood of Europe."
Tabernas is home to several amusement parks inspired by western movies, offering a variety of themed attractions and shows. There is also the "Desierto de Tabernas" nature reserve, one of the few desert areas in Europe.
Trip Tip - turn on maps.com, tourist mode, you will see the red route GR-140, which you can follow to the Tabernas area.
Fort Bravo, also known as Texas Hollywood, is a western movie culture park located near the town of Tabernas. This park is styled in the wild west and offers visitors the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of western movies.
In Texas Hollywood, you will find replicas of western towns, saloons, banks and other distinctive buildings that were used in the movies. The park also offers shows with stuntmen, horses and other western elements.

Today you can take today to explore Almería for a short time, or move on to Málaga. You will have a longer crossing, so it will be great to stop at a nice beach on the way. You will be driving along the coast.
The city of Almería itself has a rich history, dating back to the Phoenician settlement and was subsequently dominated by the Romans, Moors and other cultures. Historical sites such as the Alcazaba de Almería, which is a medieval fortress, and the Almería Cathedral are examples of the local cultural heritage.

To be honest, Málaga isn't a particularly impressive city for us. Time is better spent on the beaches around Nerja, etc. However, the tapas here are good, the ice cream too, you probably won't go wrong. Just avoid the restaurant in the centre called Helena 😀 , it was very poor for a lot of money.
The town beach doesn't offend but doesn't impress either, the walk through the castle is pleasant. The city's cathedral is also nice, but after Granada you probably won't be impressed 😁. The only thing I would highlight here is the nice palm promenade, it runs from the beach along the castle. At the end of it we had probably the best sangria of our stay at Casa de Vinos La Odisea, Subida Coracha, 2 🍷

Cueva de Nerja is a stunning natural cave located near the town of Nerja in the province of Málaga. This cave is known for its huge halls, stalactite and stalagmite formations and its archaeological value.
The cave is considered one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Spain. It contains evidence of prehistoric human settlements and cave art. It is believed to have been inhabited more than 30,000 years ago by prehistoric populations. One of the most interesting features of the cave is the "Column", a huge stalactite 32 metres high.
Open 9:30am - 6pm, daily. Tickets can be purchased online: https://entradas.cuevadenerja.es/en/. According to our experience in August 2023, there is no need to buy tickets in advance.
Worldee Tip: We visited this beach on our way. It is a rocky beach with azure water full of fish. It is much less crowded than the beach a cove over, which is slightly better rated. The beach is descended by terrain, I recommend suitable shoes (at least not flip flops). However, there are countless beaches all along the coast, google maps will show you them beautifully. In fact, the desert landscape around Tabernas has similar characteristics to the American West. Many famous films, including Sergio Leone's For a Fistful of Dollars, were shot in this area. Sometimes Tabernas is even called the "Hollywood of Europe."
Tabernas is home to several amusement parks inspired by western movies, offering a variety of themed attractions and shows. There is also the "Desierto de Tabernas" nature reserve, one of the few desert areas in Europe.

Fort Bravo, also known as Texas Hollywood, is a western movie culture park located near the town of Tabernas. This park is styled in the wild west and offers visitors the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of western movies.

A tailor-made itinerary for a group of 7 people, 4 of whom will go to Spain from 1 - 5 Sep 23 with a family of 3, who will extend their stay until 9 Sep 23. They will travel in 2 rental cars. The highlight of this trip is the requested bullfight in Ronda, which the 5 members of the party will attend on Saturday 2/9/23. The group prefers exploring rather than swimming and relaxing by the water 😎

❗️ Don't forget the Spanish siestas, they usually take place between 4-7pm (restaurants are closed), which is also when it's at its hottest. However, you can eat very late into the night every day.

As a rule, you can pay by card everywhere - shops, cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, entrances, market places. Exceptions are the occasional car park or smaller cafes in villages. We made do for a week with about 20 EUR, otherwise we used our cards.

Pick up your car at the airport - we will send you the voucher and instructions by email in advance. You will check the car together with the rental company employee (report any scratches that are not recorded), get the necessary confirmation and documents, your credit card deposit will be frozen and you can start driving to Ronda.
Calls, SMS and mobile data are the same in the EU as in the Czech Republic, so you can use GPS navigation without any problem (your phone works like at home).
You will arrive later in the evening, the Spanish are active late into the night (plus it is Friday), it will not be a problem to eat somewhere on the way 😉

Worldee Tip: From the bullring we went to the lookout (you'll see it right by the arena), then continued to the main bridge, crossed it. You can see the smaller bridge from the overlook, which is where we went and did a little loop. There are gardens and various viewing platforms to visit along the way.
You stay in the same place as the first night.
Camino del Rey is a trail located in the Sovince of Desfiladero de los Gaitanes in the province of Málaga, Spain. It is known as one of the most dangerous trails in the world. The road was built in the early 20th century to facilitate access to the hydropower plant El Chorro. However, it deteriorated over time and began to be abandoned. In 2015, the trail was reconstructed and reopened. The Camino del Rey has become a popular tourist destination for adventurous hikers looking for an adrenaline rush and breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery. The trail is about 7.7 kilometers long and offers stunning views of the gorge and the Guadalhorce River.
You must have a reservation in advance, which we have made for you. Together with your guide, you will start the trail at 10:40 am. However - it is strongly recommended to arrive at the parking lot about 1 hour ahead of time. If you don't want to go on the trail with a guide, ask them when you register, it shouldn't be a problem. You can get back to the parking lot (the trail is one-way) after completing the trail by shuttle bus, which runs regularly.
- the ticket will be presented at the entrance and exit of the trail, you must always carry the document for which it was purchased (i.e. the ID or passport you provided)
- after parking, go directly to the Municipalitie of Ardales (signs are in place)
- here you will pick up your safety gear
- you will also receive all the instructions from us together with the tickets (in English)
PARKING ATTENTION (map in the photo gallery)
There are three spaces:
- near the main entrance (municipal car park P1, Caminito de Rey, Ardales) - ideal location, you can reach the entrance in 20 - 35 min
- Parking near El Chorro exit (Álora, P2) - must be here an hour in advance, shuttle bus will then take you to the first parking lot
- Parking at the Visitors Reception Centre Parking (P) - one hour in advance is required, a shuttle bus will then take you to the first car park
The shuttle bus ticket is also valid for multiple rides throughout the day of your visit. The ride takes about 15 to 20 minutes, running from 7:50 am to 8:00 pm.

Google maps screenshots in gallery = where we parked & the path to the entrance. The parking cost us the aforementioned €2 and was the closest to the entrance, but you still have a 1.5km walk to the entrance. It really pays to arrive an hour in advance in case the car park was full for example and you had to park elsewhere, use the shuttle bus and then the aforementioned 1.5km walk to the entrance.
If you don't need to go with a guide (I don't recommend it, in August and I assume September it will still be crazy hot, the guided group moves slowly and you're in a big crowd), at the entrance when checking your tickets say you'd like to go alone, then if you arrive early they'll let you in earlier as well and you won't be waiting for a group. The trail is beautiful and not difficult at all.
The trail is one way and there is a shuttle bus back again for a small fee. It always runs at all hours and at half past one. From the official Camino trail exit you walk another min 30 min to the shuttle (although after a while you will see the 300m shuttle sign and helmet drop off, it's further, they have it measured oddly). However, just before the shuttle you can refresh yourself with a cold drink and something small to eat.

Worldee tip: We headed here for wine and a late dinner. It's really crowded and a little bit out of order, but we loved the place, the jamón (cured ham cut from a pig's leg) and pulled pork on bread was fabulous (and everything else 😀 ) and they had a super wine selection. A tailor-made itinerary for a group of 7 people, 4 of whom will go to Spain from 1 - 5 Sep 23 with a family of 3, who will extend their stay until 9 Sep 23. They will travel in 2 rental cars. The highlight of this trip is the requested bullfight in Ronda, which the 5 members of the party will attend on Saturday 2/9/23. The group prefers exploring rather than swimming and relaxing by the water 😎
The trip includes:

❗️ Don't forget the Spanish siestas, they usually take place between 4-7pm (restaurants are closed), which is also when it's at its hottest. However, you can eat very late into the night every day.
❗️ Be sure to bring a head covering, it gets really hot in the interior during the summer months.
Money exchange
As a rule, you can pay by card everywhere - shops, cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, entrances, market places. Exceptions are the occasional car park or smaller cafes in villages. We made do for a week with about 20 EUR, otherwise we used our cards.

Pick up your car at the airport - we will send you the voucher and instructions by email in advance. You will check the car together with the rental company employee (report any scratches that are not recorded), get the necessary confirmation and documents, your credit card deposit will be frozen and you can start driving to Ronda.
Calls, SMS and mobile data are the same in the EU as in the Czech Republic, so you can use GPS navigation without any problem (your phone works like at home).
You will arrive later in the evening, the Spanish are active late into the night (plus it is Friday), it will not be a problem to eat somewhere on the way 😉

Those of you who have purchased tickets to the bullfight will be spending the day in the ring. Get ready, it's going to be quite a bloody spectacle.

Ronda is a picturesque town located in Spain. It is located in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia and is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the area. The city is known for its stunning location on both sides of the El Tajo canyon, which divides Ronda in two.
Ronda is rich in historical monuments and architectural gems. The most notable of these is the famous Puente Nuevo Bridge, which connects the two parts of the city and offers breathtaking views of the canyon and surrounding countryside. Another interesting sight is the Royal Palace Casa de Don Bosco, which is an example of the local Renaissance style.
The city of Ronda is also known for its rich cultural scene. Every year it hosts the traditional Festival Corrida Goyesca, which features bullfighting in historical costumes. This event attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world 🐃
Worldee Tip: From the bullring we went to the lookout (you'll see it right by the arena), then continued to the main bridge, crossed it. You can see the smaller bridge from the overlook, which is where we went and did a little loop. There are gardens and various viewing platforms to visit along the way.
You stay in the same place as the first night.
Camino del Rey is a trail located in the Sovince of Desfiladero de los Gaitanes in the province of Málaga, Spain. It is known as one of the most dangerous trails in the world. The road was built in the early 20th century to facilitate access to the hydropower plant El Chorro. However, it deteriorated over time and began to be abandoned. In 2015, the trail was reconstructed and reopened. The Camino del Rey has become a popular tourist destination for adventurous hikers looking for an adrenaline rush and breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery. The trail is about 7.7 kilometers long and offers stunning views of the gorge and the Guadalhorce River.
You must have a reservation in advance, which we have made for you. Together with your guide, you will start the trail at 10:40 am. However - it is strongly recommended to arrive at the parking lot about 1 hour ahead of time. If you don't want to go on the trail with a guide, ask them when you register, it shouldn't be a problem. You can get back to the parking lot (the trail is one-way) after completing the trail by shuttle bus, which runs regularly.
- the ticket will be presented at the entrance and exit of the trail, you must always carry the document for which it was purchased (i.e. the ID or passport you provided)
- after parking, go directly to the Municipalitie of Ardales (signs are in place)
- here you will pick up your safety gear
- you will also receive all the instructions from us together with the tickets (in English)
PARKING ATTENTION (map in the photo gallery)
There are three spaces:
- near the main entrance (municipal car park P1, Caminito de Rey, Ardales) - ideal location, you can reach the entrance in 20 - 35 min
- Parking near El Chorro exit (Álora, P2) - must be here an hour in advance, shuttle bus will then take you to the first parking lot
- Parking at the Visitors Reception Centre Parking (P) - one hour in advance is required, a shuttle bus will then take you to the first car park
The shuttle bus ticket is also valid for multiple rides throughout the day of your visit. The ride takes about 15 to 20 minutes, running from 7:50 am to 8:00 pm.

Google maps screenshots in gallery = where we parked & the path to the entrance. The parking cost us the aforementioned €2 and was the closest to the entrance, but you still have a 1.5km walk to the entrance. It really pays to arrive an hour in advance in case the car park was full for example and you had to park elsewhere, use the shuttle bus and then the aforementioned 1.5km walk to the entrance.
If you don't need to go with a guide (I don't recommend it, in August and I assume September it will still be crazy hot, the guided group moves slowly and you're in a big crowd), at the entrance when checking your tickets say you'd like to go alone, then if you arrive early they'll let you in earlier as well and you won't be waiting for a group. The trail is beautiful and not difficult at all.
The trail is one way and there is a shuttle bus back again for a small fee. It always runs at all hours and at half past one. From the official Camino trail exit you walk another min 30 min to the shuttle (although after a while you will see the 300m shuttle sign and helmet drop off, it's further, they have it measured oddly). However, just before the shuttle you can refresh yourself with a cold drink and something small to eat.

Worldee tip: We headed here for wine and a late dinner. It's really crowded and a little bit out of order, but we loved the place, the jamón (cured ham cut from a pig's leg) and pulled pork on bread was fabulous (and everything else 😀 ) and they had a super wine selection. You automatically get a small starter - toast with hummus.

Granada is a city located in Andalusia in the south of Spain with breathtaking views of the Sierra Nevada mountains. It is a historic city full of rich culture and architecture that attracts millions of tourists every year.
Granada is also known for its diverse cultural life. The city hosts various festivals and events every year, including the Flamenco Festival and the International Flamenco Music and Dance Festival. In addition, the city is also popular for its gastronomy. Visitors can enjoy traditional Spanish dishes such as tapas, gazpacho and paella, and sample local specialities such as Granada cheese and the Sacromonte omelette.
Worldee tip: Souvenirs vary significantly in price from shop to shop. They have a reasonably priced one in the shop at the location: mapy.cz/s/nerokezeka.
You have tickets for the Alhambra at 10:30, go early, it's a bit chaotic and the entrance is not well marked.
One of the most famous symbols of Granada is the Alhambra (part of UNESCO). This fortress and palace complex from the Moorish period is known for its magnificent gardens, noble architecture and works of art. Thousands of tourists visit the Alhambra every year to immerse themselves in the history and impressive beauty of this place.
Worldee tip: The fortress is best photographed from the church on the opposite hill. Put Mirador de San Nicolas in your navigation.

Worldee tip: We ate twice at La Visera restaurant (it was open until 5:30pm, if you arrive by 4:15pm you can eat in peace) and were very satisfied. Perfect service, always included a small appetizer and a small ice cream for dessert.

Worldee tip: I had a luxurious oxtail burger here - in general everything typical Spanish looked very nice, just leave out the salads (they really aren't worth it here).
You can take the tour inland or a slightly longer one along the coast. Both groups can visit the Nerja Cave (info Day 5) and the Balcony of Europe (info Day 9) together if there is enough time, or head to one of the beaches (they are much nicer along the way than in Málaga).
Málaga is the second largest city in Andalusia and the birthplace of the famous artist Pablo Picasso. The city combines a modern atmosphere with a rich history and culture. Málaga offers urban beaches, a picturesque old town with narrow streets and historical landmarks such as the Málaga Alcazaba, a fortress with Moorish roots, as well as a cathedral famous for its incomplete façade. Málaga is also known for its rich cultural life, museums and excellent gastronomy, making it a popular destination for visitors looking for a combination of relaxation and exploration.
To be honest, Málaga isn't a particularly impressive city for us. Time is better spent on the beaches around Nerja, etc. However, the tapas here are good, the ice cream too, you probably won't go wrong. Just avoid the restaurant in the centre called Helena 😀 , it was very poor for a lot of money.
The town beach doesn't offend but doesn't impress either, the walk through the castle is pleasant. The city's cathedral is also nice, but after Granada you probably won't be impressed 😁. The only thing I would highlight here is the nice palm promenade, it runs from the beach along the castle. At the end of it we had probably the best sangria of our stay at Casa de Vinos La Odisea, Subida Coracha, 2 🍷

Group 2, continues towards Almería, on the way you can stop at the beautiful Nerja cave or at one of the beaches. Recommended beaches (and more) can be found in day 9 - you will be spending it on the same route, so you can combine it with today as you wish.
Worldee tip: It's such a very pink place, but the breakfast was definitely worth it 😉
Enter the Málaga airport in the navigation, as you approach, signs for Car Rental and later for the specific car rental company will appear. They are all right next to the terminal lobby.

Cueva de Nerja is a stunning natural cave located near the town of Nerja in the province of Málaga. This cave is known for its huge halls, stalactite and stalagmite formations and its archaeological value.
The cave is considered one of the most important archaeological discoveries in Spain. It contains evidence of prehistoric human settlements and cave art. It is believed to have been inhabited more than 30,000 years ago by prehistoric populations. One of the most interesting features of the cave is the "Column", a huge stalactite 32 metres high.
Open 9:30am - 6pm, daily. Tickets can be purchased online: https://entradas.cuevadenerja.es/en/. According to our experience in August 2023, there is no need to buy tickets in advance.
Worldee Tip: We visited this beach on our way. It is a rocky beach with azure water full of fish. It is much less crowded than the beach a cove over, which is slightly better rated. The beach is descended by terrain, I recommend suitable shoes (at least not flip flops). However, there are countless beaches all along the coast, google maps will show you them beautifully. For more tips, see Day 9.

Faro de Cabo de Gata is a lighthouse located on the coast in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park, in the province of Almería. Cabo de Gata is a peninsula and coastal area known for its natural beauty and unique landscapes. The lighthouse is an iconic landmark in the area and has played a key role in maritime navigation for many decades. Its construction dates back to 1863 and it is strategically located on top of the cliff, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding area.
The Playa de los Genoveses beach is one of the beautiful beaches located in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. This beach is located near the town of San José and is known for its white sand, beautiful waves and incredible views of the surrounding scenery, including small dunes where cacti and agaves grow. The beach got its name from an event in 1147, when a fleet of 200 ships from Genoa, Italy, camped in the bay for at least two months.
From the beach you can reach the great viewpoint of Morron de los Genoveses by a pleasant walk of about 3 km.
Morron de los Genoveses is a hill located near the beach of Playa de los Genoveses. This promontory offers spectacular views of the surrounding landscape, including the beach, the sea and the mountain backdrop.
Playa de Mónsul is another beautiful beach located in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park. This beach is known for its fine sand, rock formations and the beautiful landscape that surrounds it. It is said to be most beautiful at sunset. Interestingly, movies such as The Neverending Story and Indiana Jones were filmed here.
Las Chorreras or Los Canales de Padules, are natural springs and canals located in the Padules area of Almeria. These canals are part of a magnificent natural landscape that includes waterfalls and cascades created by the flow of water from the Sierra de Gador mountains.
Las Chorreras are a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, offering the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area, including lush vegetation, rock formations and clear water. The canals and waterfalls are formed by natural springs and the flow of water across the landscape. The ideal walk can be done along the riverbed, but proper shoes are a must.
Great view of the surrounding mountain environment, which can be reached by car.
Tabernas is a town known primarily for its arid desert landscape and as the location of many famous western films. In fact, the desert landscape around Tabernas has similar characteristics to the American West. Many famous films, including Sergio Leone's For a Fistful of Dollars, were shot in this area. Sometimes Tabernas is even called the "Hollywood of Europe."
Tabernas is home to several amusement parks inspired by western movies, offering a variety of themed attractions and shows. There is also the "Desierto de Tabernas" nature reserve, one of the few desert areas in Europe.
Trip Tip - turn on maps.com, tourist mode, you will see the red route GR-140, which you can follow to the Tabernas area.
Fort Bravo, also known as Texas Hollywood, is a western movie culture park located near the town of Tabernas. This park is styled in the wild west and offers visitors the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of western movies.
In Texas Hollywood, you will find replicas of western towns, saloons, banks and other distinctive buildings that were used in the movies. The park also offers shows with stuntmen, horses and other western elements.

Today you can take today to explore Almería for a short time, or move on to Málaga. You will have a longer crossing, so it will be great to stop at a nice beach on the way. You will be driving along the coast.
The city of Almería itself has a rich history, dating back to the Phoenician settlement and was subsequently dominated by the Romans, Moors and other cultures. Historical sites such as the Alcazaba de Almería, which is a medieval fortress, and the Almería Cathedral are examples of the local cultural heritage.
You can stop by the popular Balcón de Europa viewpoint in Nerja, in the province of Malaga. It is a picturesque promontory or terrace on the edge of a cliff with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea. The "Balcón de Europa" was named in the 20th century when the city of Nerja was liberated from siege and the then king visited the city and referred to the place as the "balcony of Europe".
Worldee tip: we had one of the best zmrlin here. The ice cream shop is right in front of the promontory, it's called Gelateria albi Icecream (photo in the gallery).
