This journey is suitable for everyone. Are you an avid traveler, adventurer, photographer, travel enthusiast, love animals and nature, are a traveler but don't have anyone to go with, or have never traveled but would like to? No problem, you are welcome to join our group. Just prepare carefully and it will be the trip of your lifetime. And don't worry, this journey is not physically demanding.
A few weeks before our trip I will set up a Whatsapp group where I will send the most important information and we will post all the info there, so you don't have to worry about not knowing anything.

There are no mandatory vaccinations in Costa Rica.
The recommended vaccinations are Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid Fever and Dengue Fever.

Accommodation is provided in private apartments or hotels/motels (mostly with kitchenettes).

Flight from Prague with one change (subject to best airfares) to San José airport.✈️
We will be driving around Costa Rica in a rental car. I will drive and one of you will take turns. Costa Rican roads are good for the most part, so don't worry.
⭐Diet
Our accommodation will mostly have a kitchen so we can buy fresh ingredients from the local markets and cook for ourselves. We can also go to so called "Sodas" (smaller restaurants) , these are mostly owned by locals and thus have only local dishes and are not as expensive as normal restaurants. However, normal European style restaurants are also not expensive (around 150 CZK), so we can eat there as well.
⭐Program
The program is detailed in the itinerary below. However, it must be said that the program is not fixed. It is more of a mutual agreement. Depending on our mood and circumstances, we can easily change and adapt the program to suit us.
I love traveling and seeing new things, I always want to make the most of my time when I travel, so I will do my best to make sure we see everything Costa Rica has to offer.
We will fly in, pick up our cars and spend our first night in Costa Rica in the capital San José.
When you land, purchase a local SIM card at the airport. I recommend Kolbi, Liberty or Claro. If you don't want your own phone number, you can purchase an E- Sim with data connection only. Then we pick up the cars and drive towards San José.
We will go to our accommodation in San José to sleep and have the strength to travel the next day.
Early in the morning we will leave San José for the Caribbean side of the country to Puerta Vieja. We'll swim on beautiful Caribbean beaches, visit an amazing rescue station for injured and orphaned animals, walk through the town and sample Costa Rican cuisine. We will also have the opportunity to visit Costa Rican restaurants, cafes, karaoke bars and a yoga studio with a beautiful view or anything else we agree on.😌
We will leave for Puerto Viejo first thing in the morning, so that we have the whole day to enjoy everything this picturesque town has to offer. Puerto Viejo is a friendly little town on the Caribbean coast. It has a relaxed atmosphere of reggae music and Jamaican colours.
We can visit, for example, Luna May - a clothing shop whose designs are made from photos of locals or nature.

Optional (not included in the price) - Yoga studio (from the easier slow classes to the more challenging ones, they have a really great selection) plus it's a beautiful place on the hill with a view suitable for brunch.
Jaguar Rescue Center is a temporary or permanent home for sick, injured and orphaned animals. It focuses on monkeys, sloths, other mammals, birds and reptiles. It provides veterinary services, round-the-clock care and comfort to animals that otherwise could not survive in the rainforest or waters of the Caribbean. This is where we will go to see the animals we will then try to see in the wild. We will learn some interesting facts about them and support these pets that cannot be in the wild.
Today we will explore one of Costa Rica's most beautiful national coastal parks called Cahuita, and spend the rest of the day at Cocles Beach. Here we can play games such as wobbleball, take a surf lesson and rock it out at the karaoke bar in the evening. It's up to us how we decide. Nothing is a problem. If we want to split up, the tuk-tuk will take us anywhere.
The Cahuita National Park is one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica. There is the opportunity to observe a large number of animals in the wild and at the same time to bathe on some of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. We will spend a lot of time here and enjoy a beautiful walk through the park.
The national park not only protects a vast marine area (224 square kilometers) and one of Costa Rica's few remaining coral reefs (6 square kilometers), but it also includes the mainland portion of the park (10.7 square kilometers), which protects mangroves and tropical rainforest.
I recommend sturdy shoes or sandals, headgear and long sleeves (for sun and insects) definitely bring repellent and a swimsuit, there are some beautiful swimming spots. The walk through the park is 8 km long, so bring plenty of water and some snacks, there is nothing to buy here.
Playa Cocles is a large beach near Puerta Vieja. It is the centre of social life where we can find volleyball courts, surf schools, beach bars, restaurants and lots of cafes. You won't be bored here. There are also karaoke nights where we can end the day.

On the fourth day, we will explore another of the breathtaking national parks. We will see rainforest, mangrove swamps, beautiful ocean views and countless animals. The afternoon will be spent on a secluded beach known for its white sand, crystal waters, palm trees and surrounding jungle teeming with life. The underwater life here is breathtaking, so be sure to bring your goggles and snorkel.
In the afternoon we have another visit to a beautiful national coastal park. The Gandoca-Manzanillo National Reserve is a haven for wildlife, located in one of the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica. This reserve is very important from an ecological point of view, as it contains the only intact mangrove swamp in the Atlantic and the primary lowland small rainforest found here is the only one of its kind in the region. The reserve also cares for the only natural mangrove oyster beds found along the coastal reefs.
I recommend sturdy shoes, headgear and long sleeves (for sun and insects) be sure to bring repellent and a swimsuit, there are some wonderful swimming spots. Bring plenty of water and some snacks, there is nothing to buy.
Thanks to its remoteness, this beach has retained its natural beauty and is synonymous with soft white sand, crystal clear water and an abundance of palm trees providing shade. The surrounding jungle is teeming with life, and monkeys, sloths, toucans and other exotic bird species can be found on or near the beach. Similarly, the rich underwater life encourages snorkelling and diving. On the beach, we can also rent a kayak and paddle along the shore, walk to the cave or just relax by the water.
On the fifth day, we'll watch the last sunrise over the Caribbean Sea before heading inland to Costa Rica. We will drive through beautiful countryside, make several stops and once we reach La Fortuna, we will be surrounded by incredible hills and volcanoes. Here we will spend three days. Upon arrival, we'll explore the town, go to a bistro with a beautiful view, and end the day in the town of La Fortuna with a view of the active volcano Arenal.
In the morning we'll watch the sunrise on Chiquita beach, which is perfect for sunrise, and then head inland to La Fortuna. We'll stop at some beautiful places along the way.

The place is famous for its thermal springs, where we can relax and enjoy the view of the impressive volcano. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with plenty of hiking trails, the La Fortuna waterfall and the Arenal Volcano National Park.
On the sixth day we will take a day trip to Río Celeste. It's an incredible place and we're going to enjoy it to the fullest. In the morning we will go to the meeting point where we will meet our guide who will take us through the day. We will walk through the national park, visit an organic farm with sloths and frogs, refresh ourselves at the beautiful Llanos de Cortez and Turquoise Waters of Rio Celeste waterfalls, see lots of wildlife and have a true Costa Rican lunch. In the evening, we can head to La Fortuna for some fun.
Rio Celeste is a river located in Costa Rica in the Tenorio National Park. The most amazing thing about it is that it has an azure blue color, which contrasts beautifully with the rich green surrounding forest through which it flows. And you can even swim in it! The colour of the water is created by one river flowing out of the rainforest and mixing with another river flowing out of the volcano. Chemistry and a bit of magic combined with the science of light refraction causes this amazing colour!
In the morning we will go to the meeting point where we will meet our guide who will take us through the day. We will walk through the national park, visit an organic farm with sloths and frogs, refresh ourselves at the beautiful Llanos de Cortez and Turquoise Waters of Rio Celeste waterfalls, see lots of wildlife and have a true Costa Rican lunch. All of this is included in the price of the trip and I have described it very briefly.
On the seventh day we will visit a chocolate farm where we will discover how chocolate is made, learn how to make it and taste the perfect real Costa Rican chocolate. Afterwards, we will go to the Arenal Nature Reserve, which we will walk the whole area. We will explore the treetops, be enchanted by the Danta waterfall, walk across suspension bridges and have a typical Costa Rican lunch.
Everyone must love this chocolate treat! We will have the privilege to see experts who will show us the whole process of chocolate making, from picking the fruit to filling the chocolate moulds and teach us a lot of things. Over the course of two hours we will have a chocolate making lesson, walk around an organic farm and taste two traditional chocolate drinks, sugar cane juice (pressed by us) and chocolate candy (created by us).
The rest of the day will be spent at a nature reserve called Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails. We have full day entry here without a guide, so we'll make up our own program. We'll walk the entire national park with spectacular views of the volcano and Lake Arenal, hike up to "The Nest" observation tower to explore the forest canopy, watch birds of all colors and sizes, visit Danta Falls and the suspension bridges. And of course we can't miss the Costa Rican lunch at the restaurant "El Jilguero" (main course, dessert, natural juice and coffee). All this is included and much more.
On the eighth day, we'll start our journey in the morning, passing the beautiful Lake Arenal to Santa Elena for a breathtaking tour through the Monteverde rainforest.
The stunning reserve, named after the nearby town of Monteverde and established in 1972, consists of more than 10,500 hectares. The reserve consists of 6 ecological zones, 90% of which are virgin forests.
On the morning of the ninth day we will drive towards the famous town of Quepos and upon arrival we will go to the amazing Manuel Antonio National Park. We will then spend the rest of the day exploring some of the most beautiful beaches in the Pacific.
This extraordinary park is home to a fascinating mix of rainforest, pristine beaches and coral reefs, creating a sanctuary of natural beauty. The beaches, considered some of the most picturesque in Costa Rica, are lined with dense green forests and offer us excellent snorkeling opportunities in the crystal clear waters. Although Manuel Antonio is the smallest national park in the country, it boasts a unique blend of stunning landscapes and vibrant wildlife.
Playa La Macha is a beautiful beach that we must visit. White sand, tranquility, gentle waves, cliffs, palm trees and rainforest everywhere you look. This is where we will spend the rest of the day.
On the tenth day we will have an adventure like no other. Have you ever flown through the rainforest? Well, this is the day we fly. We're going to have an incredible experience on the Zip Line.
The adventure includes the most impressive and longest Zip Line in Central America, 14 tree platforms, 5 suspension bridges, 3 nature walks, 1 double rappel and 10 double-anchored Zip Lines totaling over 3.6 miles. Well I'm looking forward to it now. How about you 😍 Plus, we'll enjoy a Costa Rican lunch in the treetops after the descent and maybe the local hummingbirds and butterflies will fly in to greet us.
If you don't want to take the Zip Line, no problem. We'll arrange on the spot what you'll do and which of the local beaches you'll explore.
We'll spend our last moments by the Pacific Ocean in the afternoon and slowly move to San José. On the way, we'll stop at the famous crocodile bridge. Upon arrival in San José, we will walk to the most famous market, browse the streets, shop for souvenirs and enjoy the last moments of Costa Rican atmosphere.

In San José, we'll be sure to check out this amazing market full of fruits, vegetables, food, souvenirs and much more. They have just about everything we can think of.
If we want and have time, we can go to the museum. The museum, for example, contains the world's largest collection of American jade and many other attractions.
On the last day we fly home. We have enjoyed Costa Rica to the fullest and are happy to fly home. Costa Rica is an incredible country and I can't wait to show it to you in all its glory.

On the last day we fly home. We have enjoyed Costa Rica to the fullest and are happy to fly home. Costa Rica is an incredible country and I can't wait to show it to you in all its glory.

This journey is suitable for everyone. Are you an avid traveler, adventurer, photographer, travel enthusiast, love animals and nature, are a traveler but don't have anyone to go with, or have never traveled but would like to? No problem, you are welcome to join our group. Just prepare carefully and it will be the trip of your lifetime. And don't worry, this journey is not physically demanding.
A few weeks before our trip I will set up a Whatsapp group where I will send the most important information and we will post all the info there, so you don't have to worry about not knowing anything.

There are no mandatory vaccinations in Costa Rica.
The recommended vaccinations are Hepatitis A and B, Typhoid Fever and Dengue Fever.

Accommodation is provided in private apartments or hotels/motels (mostly with kitchenettes).

Flight from Prague with one change (subject to best airfares) to San José airport.✈️
We will be driving around Costa Rica in a rental car. I will drive and one of you will take turns. Costa Rican roads are good for the most part, so don't worry.
⭐Diet
Our accommodation will mostly have a kitchen so we can buy fresh ingredients from the local markets and cook for ourselves. We can also go to so called "Sodas" (smaller restaurants) , these are mostly owned by locals and thus have only local dishes and are not as expensive as normal restaurants. However, normal European style restaurants are also not expensive (around 150 CZK), so we can eat there as well.
⭐Program
The program is detailed in the itinerary below. However, it must be said that the program is not fixed. It is more of a mutual agreement. Depending on our mood and circumstances, we can easily change and adapt the program to suit us.
I love traveling and seeing new things, I always want to make the most of my time when I travel, so I will do my best to make sure we see everything Costa Rica has to offer.
We will fly in, pick up our cars and spend our first night in Costa Rica in the capital San José.
When you land, purchase a local SIM card at the airport. I recommend Kolbi, Liberty or Claro. If you don't want your own phone number, you can purchase an E- Sim with data connection only. Then we pick up the cars and drive towards San José.
We will go to our accommodation in San José to sleep and have the strength to travel the next day.
Early in the morning we will leave San José for the Caribbean side of the country to Puerta Vieja. We'll swim on beautiful Caribbean beaches, visit an amazing rescue station for injured and orphaned animals, walk through the town and sample Costa Rican cuisine. We will also have the opportunity to visit Costa Rican restaurants, cafes, karaoke bars and a yoga studio with a beautiful view or anything else we agree on.😌
We will leave for Puerto Viejo first thing in the morning, so that we have the whole day to enjoy everything this picturesque town has to offer. Puerto Viejo is a friendly little town on the Caribbean coast. It has a relaxed atmosphere of reggae music and Jamaican colours.
We can visit, for example, Luna May - a clothing shop whose designs are made from photos of locals or nature.

Optional (not included in the price) - Yoga studio (from the easier slow classes to the more challenging ones, they have a really great selection) plus it's a beautiful place on the hill with a view suitable for brunch.
Jaguar Rescue Center is a temporary or permanent home for sick, injured and orphaned animals. It focuses on monkeys, sloths, other mammals, birds and reptiles. It provides veterinary services, round-the-clock care and comfort to animals that otherwise could not survive in the rainforest or waters of the Caribbean. This is where we will go to see the animals we will then try to see in the wild. We will learn some interesting facts about them and support these pets that cannot be in the wild.
Today we will explore one of Costa Rica's most beautiful national coastal parks called Cahuita, and spend the rest of the day at Cocles Beach. Here we can play games such as wobbleball, take a surf lesson and rock it out at the karaoke bar in the evening. It's up to us how we decide. Nothing is a problem. If we want to split up, the tuk-tuk will take us anywhere.
The Cahuita National Park is one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica. There is the opportunity to observe a large number of animals in the wild and at the same time to bathe on some of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. We will spend a lot of time here and enjoy a beautiful walk through the park.
The national park not only protects a vast marine area (224 square kilometers) and one of Costa Rica's few remaining coral reefs (6 square kilometers), but it also includes the mainland portion of the park (10.7 square kilometers), which protects mangroves and tropical rainforest.
I recommend sturdy shoes or sandals, headgear and long sleeves (for sun and insects) definitely bring repellent and a swimsuit, there are some beautiful swimming spots. The walk through the park is 8 km long, so bring plenty of water and some snacks, there is nothing to buy here.
Playa Cocles is a large beach near Puerta Vieja. It is the centre of social life where we can find volleyball courts, surf schools, beach bars, restaurants and lots of cafes. You won't be bored here. There are also karaoke nights where we can end the day.

On the fourth day, we will explore another of the breathtaking national parks. We will see rainforest, mangrove swamps, beautiful ocean views and countless animals. The afternoon will be spent on a secluded beach known for its white sand, crystal waters, palm trees and surrounding jungle teeming with life. The underwater life here is breathtaking, so be sure to bring your goggles and snorkel.
In the afternoon we have another visit to a beautiful national coastal park. The Gandoca-Manzanillo National Reserve is a haven for wildlife, located in one of the most beautiful areas of Costa Rica. This reserve is very important from an ecological point of view, as it contains the only intact mangrove swamp in the Atlantic and the primary lowland small rainforest found here is the only one of its kind in the region. The reserve also cares for the only natural mangrove oyster beds found along the coastal reefs.
I recommend sturdy shoes, headgear and long sleeves (for sun and insects) be sure to bring repellent and a swimsuit, there are some wonderful swimming spots. Bring plenty of water and some snacks, there is nothing to buy.
Thanks to its remoteness, this beach has retained its natural beauty and is synonymous with soft white sand, crystal clear water and an abundance of palm trees providing shade. The surrounding jungle is teeming with life, and monkeys, sloths, toucans and other exotic bird species can be found on or near the beach. Similarly, the rich underwater life encourages snorkelling and diving. On the beach, we can also rent a kayak and paddle along the shore, walk to the cave or just relax by the water.
On the fifth day, we'll watch the last sunrise over the Caribbean Sea before heading inland to Costa Rica. We will drive through beautiful countryside, make several stops and once we reach La Fortuna, we will be surrounded by incredible hills and volcanoes. Here we will spend three days. Upon arrival, we'll explore the town, go to a bistro with a beautiful view, and end the day in the town of La Fortuna with a view of the active volcano Arenal.
In the morning we'll watch the sunrise on Chiquita beach, which is perfect for sunrise, and then head inland to La Fortuna. We'll stop at some beautiful places along the way.
American bistro with delicious food (I recommend the burrito and peanut shake) with a great view. Definitely worth a visit.
La Fortuna is a picturesque town located in the heart of Costa Rica, right next to the Arenal volcano. Here we will have our accommodation. The place is famous for its thermal springs, where we can relax and enjoy the view of the impressive volcano. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with plenty of hiking trails, the La Fortuna waterfall and the Arenal Volcano National Park.
On the sixth day we will take a day trip to Río Celeste. It's an incredible place and we're going to enjoy it to the fullest. In the morning we will go to the meeting point where we will meet our guide who will take us through the day. We will walk through the national park, visit an organic farm with sloths and frogs, refresh ourselves at the beautiful Llanos de Cortez and Turquoise Waters of Rio Celeste waterfalls, see lots of wildlife and have a true Costa Rican lunch. In the evening, we can head to La Fortuna for some fun.
Rio Celeste is a river located in Costa Rica in the Tenorio National Park. The most amazing thing about it is that it has an azure blue color, which contrasts beautifully with the rich green surrounding forest through which it flows. And you can even swim in it! The colour of the water is created by one river flowing out of the rainforest and mixing with another river flowing out of the volcano. Chemistry and a bit of magic combined with the science of light refraction causes this amazing colour!
In the morning we will go to the meeting point where we will meet our guide who will take us through the day. We will walk through the national park, visit an organic farm with sloths and frogs, refresh ourselves at the beautiful Llanos de Cortez and Turquoise Waters of Rio Celeste waterfalls, see lots of wildlife and have a true Costa Rican lunch. All of this is included in the price of the trip and I have described it very briefly.
On the seventh day we will visit a chocolate farm where we will discover how chocolate is made, learn how to make it and taste the perfect real Costa Rican chocolate. Afterwards, we will go to the Arenal Nature Reserve, which we will walk the whole area. We will explore the treetops, be enchanted by the Danta waterfall, walk across suspension bridges and have a typical Costa Rican lunch.
Everyone must love this chocolate treat! We will have the privilege to see experts who will show us the whole process of chocolate making, from picking the fruit to filling the chocolate moulds and teach us a lot of things. Over the course of two hours we will have a chocolate making lesson, walk around an organic farm and taste two traditional chocolate drinks, sugar cane juice (pressed by us) and chocolate candy (created by us).
The rest of the day will be spent at a nature reserve called Arenal Observatory Lodge & Trails. We have full day entry here without a guide, so we'll make up our own program. We'll walk the entire national park with spectacular views of the volcano and Lake Arenal, hike up to "The Nest" observation tower to explore the forest canopy, watch birds of all colors and sizes, visit Danta Falls and the suspension bridges. And of course we can't miss the Costa Rican lunch at the restaurant "El Jilguero" (main course, dessert, natural juice and coffee). All this is included and much more.
On the eighth day, we'll start our journey in the morning, passing the beautiful Lake Arenal to Santa Elena for a breathtaking tour through the Monteverde rainforest.
The stunning reserve, named after the nearby town of Monteverde and established in 1972, consists of more than 10,500 hectares. The reserve consists of 6 ecological zones, 90% of which are virgin forests.
On the morning of the ninth day we will drive towards the famous town of Quepos and upon arrival we will go to the amazing Manuel Antonio National Park. We will then spend the rest of the day exploring some of the most beautiful beaches in the Pacific.
This extraordinary park is home to a fascinating mix of rainforest, pristine beaches and coral reefs, creating a sanctuary of natural beauty. The beaches, considered some of the most picturesque in Costa Rica, are lined with dense green forests and offer us excellent snorkeling opportunities in the crystal clear waters. Although Manuel Antonio is the smallest national park in the country, it boasts a unique blend of stunning landscapes and vibrant wildlife.
Playa La Macha is a beautiful beach that we must visit. White sand, tranquility, gentle waves, cliffs, palm trees and rainforest everywhere you look. This is where we will spend the rest of the day.
On the tenth day we will have an adventure like no other. Have you ever flown through the rainforest? Well, this is the day we fly. We're going to have an incredible experience on the Zip Line.
The adventure includes the most impressive and longest Zip Line in Central America, 14 tree platforms, 5 suspension bridges, 3 nature walks, 1 double rappel and 10 double-anchored Zip Lines totaling over 3.6 miles. Well I'm looking forward to it now. How about you 😍 Plus, we'll enjoy a Costa Rican lunch in the treetops after the descent and maybe the local hummingbirds and butterflies will fly in to greet us.
If you don't want to take the Zip Line, no problem. We'll arrange on the spot what you'll do and which of the local beaches you'll explore.

Playa La Macha is a beautiful beach that we must visit. White sand, tranquility, gentle waves, cliffs, palm trees and rainforest everywhere you look. This is where we will spend the rest of the day.
On the tenth day we will have an adventure like no other. Have you ever flown through the rainforest? Well, this is the day we fly. We're going to have an incredible experience on the Zip Line.
The adventure includes the most impressive and longest Zip Line in Central America, 14 tree platforms, 5 suspension bridges, 3 nature walks, 1 double rappel and 10 double-anchored Zip Lines totaling over 3.6 miles. Well I'm looking forward to it now. How about you 😍 Plus, we'll enjoy a Costa Rican lunch in the treetops after the descent and maybe the local hummingbirds and butterflies will fly in to greet us.
If you don't want to take the Zip Line, no problem. We'll arrange on the spot what you'll do and which of the local beaches you'll explore.
We'll spend our last moments by the Pacific Ocean in the afternoon and slowly move to San José. On the way, we'll stop at the famous crocodile bridge. Upon arrival in San José, we will walk to the most famous market, browse the streets, shop for souvenirs and enjoy the last moments of Costa Rican atmosphere.

In San José, we'll be sure to check out this amazing market full of fruits, vegetables, food, souvenirs and much more. They have just about everything we can think of.
If we want and have time, we can go to the museum. The museum, for example, contains the world's largest collection of American jade and many other attractions.
On the last day we fly home. We have enjoyed Costa Rica to the fullest and are happy to fly home. Costa Rica is an incredible country and I can't wait to show it to you in all its glory.
