We are flying to Málaga!✈️
On arrival, we'll transfer to the adjacent town of Torremolinos, where we'll check in and get acquainted🙌 During the day, we'll show you around our accommodation, breathe in the sea air and walk around the town together, starting with a tasting of the local cuisine. We'll also head to the park and the viewpoint. We'll also take a stroll along the coastline, ending in the picturesque harbour of Benalmadena with its Christmas decorations🛥⚓️ Then we'll have dinner and end the day with a drink at our favourite rooftop bar to kick off our stay!!!💃🍷
On arrival, we will arrange a public transport pass for only 10 euros for the entire duration of your stay. We will arrange the fare together, you can pay in cash or by card.
We have selected accommodation in Torremolinos for your better experience. It offers cheaper accommodation and a quieter environment for an overnight stay. It is also better for us in terms of accessibility to connections, we are a short walk from the airport, central Málaga and a better connection for our trip to the town of Mijas, which you will read about below. We are also much closer to the sea in Torremolinos, so there will be time in our itinerary to relax and sunbathe on the beach as it will be a lovely 17-20 degrees🤩☀️
We will spend a full day in Malaga, where we will explore the historic city centre, the most famous beach La Malagueta, the charming port Muelle Uno and climb to the viewpoint Gibralfaro, which offers a magical panorama. You will see the whole town at its best🕯In fact, the local Christmas decorations and lighting are rated the second best in Spain🎄
Cathedral of the Incarnation is one of the most visited monuments. In the evening, we are also treated to a light show that projects Christmas stories directly onto the walls of this magnificent historic building✨
We'll take a stroll down the famous Calle Larios, the main avenue, which is decorated for Christmas at this time of year and is the centre of the local celebrations. We'll end our day in Málaga here, as there will be a unique light show accompanied by Christmas music after dark💫🎶
We'll walk along the most famous beaches, but of course the less touristy ones are also worth a visit, and we'll be happy to take you to them as well.
After breakfast, we head to the hills above the coast, where we visit the picturesque town of Mijas. In December this place is festively decorated and the square often hosts traditional Christmas events, live nativity scenes and folk performances🎄 Amidst historic white houses we will enjoy the Christmas atmosphere combined with Andalusian traditions. In the evening we will return to Torremolinos, where of course we will not miss the typical Spanish tapas🍴🇪🇸
On our last day, we will start at Jardín Botánico La Concepción, one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in Spain, which transforms into a fairy-tale place full of lights and Christmas decorations during Christmas. Afterwards, we will return once more to the city centre, where we will find several nativity scenes. Each nativity scene is a unique work of art full of details, lights and sometimes moving figures, offering an authentic insight into the Christmas traditions of Andalusia. We will continue on to Paseo del Parque, a green promenade lined with exotic trees that is decorated with Christmas markets at this time of year🎄 At the end of the day, we will transfer to the airport and fly home🛫
