Upon arrival at Amman, the capital of Jordan, you have the opportunity to exchange money at the airport (I recommend exchanging dollars for the Jordanian dinar, JOD).

Here you will pick up your rental car and drive to the nearby picturesque town of Madaba.

The city of Madaba is a Christian center of Jordan. The city has a large number of churches and historical buildings. The most visited is the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, which you can also visit. In the church of St. George, there is the so-called Madaba map, a mosaic from the 6th century, which is the oldest map depiction of the Holy Land (entrance fee is 1 JOD). If you still have time and desire, also visit the Archaeological Museum, the entrance fee is included in the Jordan Pass.

today you have a truly busy, adventurous day ahead!

(I recommend packing something for lunch, it's not guaranteed that you'll come across a shop or restaurant during the day.)

After a hearty breakfast, you will travel by car to the entrance of a significant pilgrimage site where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ. You will also visit the historic Greek Orthodox Church and the area around the Jordan River.

And now, according to your taste and time, straight to the beach (Salt beach), or a detour according to this itinerary through stops with breathtaking views of the Dead Sea and the Jordanian landscape (Dead Sea view, Black Mountains view and Salty rocks). You can freely slow down or stop with your car here and enjoy the beautiful unusual landscape.

Your next destination experience is swimming in the Dead Sea. You can swim at any point around the lake; these swimming areas are not specifically designated.

Today you will experience one of the seven wonders of the world, the rock city of Petra! After breakfast, get in your car and set off on a magical journey towards Petra. The rock city is huge, therefore a whole day is allocated to it. "The Treasury" is its significant dominant feature. Inside, you will find vendors, the possibility of riding a pony or a camel, and on the other side, there is the "The Basin" restaurant, where very expensive beer is also available. I firmly believe that Petra will captivate you and maybe tire you a little. I recommend that you then visit the local restaurant Meat on fire, where you will again taste excellent local cuisine, which is in the city center.

you have experienced the epic adventures that Jordan offers, but that is still far from all. A transfer to supposedly the most beautiful desert in the world awaits you, a location that is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites, home to Bedouins, a labyrinth of huge rock massifs, the Wadi Rum desert. 

(I recommend packing something for lunch, there is no guarantee that you will find a shop during the day.)

At your leisure, arrange an afternoon guided tour of the desert at the camp. The local accommodation provider will offer you dinner and breakfast. At night you will see a magical sky full of stars! I recommend moving around the desert only with a guide, the entrance fee to the reserve is included in the Jordan Pass.

Today, arrange a camel ride at the camp, or if that doesn't appeal to you, don't worry. Try a jeep ride to the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, or a special tour mapping Lawrence of Arabia's journey to Aqaba. You have one more night in the desert today.

Today you will be transferred to the capital of Jordan, Amman. The journey will be long, I suggest a refreshment stop in the town of Al-Qatrana. Here you will come across several local eateries and stalls, until then don't count on any other refreshment place.

On arrival in town, expect organised chaos on the roads, be cautious.

In the early evening, you'll visit Amman's landmark King Abdullah I Mosque, where you're allowed inside as well, and you can further explore the local municipal court behind closed gates. Afterwards, transfer to the hotel and dinner :).

Take a tour of the city! The sites are close together and arranged so that you can walk the tour on foot.Take plenty of water and enjoy the atmosphere of the historic city!

Your journey in Jordan is coming to an end.

If you still have some time before your flight, I recommend you visit the historic city of Jaras.

Jarash is one of the best-preserved Greco-Roman cities from the first century AD and is the most important ancient monument in Jordan. The most fascinating part of the city is the long colonnade stretching along the main avenue, which opens into a grand oval square. Around the main avenue are many other important buildings, including temples, theatres, fountains and other historic buildings.

I recommend at least 90 minutes to visit the city itself. Admission is included with the Jordan Pass.

And now, head to the airport, where you will park your car and hand over the keys to the appropriate car rental company.
