Head to the airport today—you bought your ticket yesterday, and today you're off to Koh Chang. Make sure to arrive well in advance so you have plenty of time. The journey takes about 7 hours, with regular stops for the restroom and refreshments. At the port in Trat, you'll transfer to a ferry, where you'll see your first destination, the island of Koh Chang, in the distance. The ferry crossing takes less than half an hour.

Koh Chang is Thailand's third largest island and 70％ of its surface is untouched rainforest with steep hills, waterfalls and diverse species of plants and animals.

About 2 km south of your accommodation is the beautiful and picturesque Lisca beach, which you should definitely visit during your stay. You will enjoy magical views. This mini beach has its own unique charm.
Take a trip to the waterfall that leads through the jungle. You'll enjoy stunning views from the lookout near Kae Bae and explore the beautiful beaches of the west coast. The easiest way to get around the island is by Songthaew taxis, which are on every corner.
As a first stop I recommend the largest waterfall Klong Plu waterfall.
If you visit first thing in the morning after breakfast, you will be among the first visitors there. Entrance to the waterfall is 200 BTH and there is also a small lake where you can take a dip.
From there, you'll take a taxi to the nearby Klong Prao beach.

Today you can head back to the beach that captivated you the most yesterday, or take on the challenge of trekking to the highest point of Koh Chang. For animal lovers, we recommend visiting Sabai dog sanctuary, a rescue station for the island's dogs, which has been run by a couple from Estonia for more than 10 years.
This friendly couple rescues sick, injured and abandoned dogs from all over the island and offers them for adoption in Europe once they are cured.
You can be in the presence of many of the dogs, chat to the owners about their beautiful but challenging mission and support this project with a few baht for running or food for the dogs... all on a voluntary basis.
The road here leads through a beautiful jungle. :)

Since the island isn't as commercially developed as other Thai destinations, the paths to the waterfalls tend to be more natural and sometimes a bit adventurous, which just adds to the charm of the whole experience.
You can rent a scooter, which is the most common way for tourists to get around Koh Kood, or hire a songtaew with a local driver.

Klong Chao is a popular beach where the river meets the ocean. Enjoy a walk on the beautiful white sand lined with coconut palms.

Another beautiful spot is a waterfall hidden deep in the jungle, which you can easily reach by scooter. Ride slowly, no need to rush. Listen to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy the adventure that awaits you. Your reward will be this unique waterfall.
It is the furthest from the main road of all the waterfalls, but this makes it very safe that you will be completely alone.
On the way to Huang Nam Keaw Waterfall, stop at a several hundred year old tree that stands in the middle of the forest. Signposts will guide you.
Be immersed in breathtaking scenery accompanied by birdsong and the sounds of the jungle.
Today you can head over to the fishing village of Ao Salad. Soak up the unique atmosphere and see how the locals, especially the fishermen, live. The highlight of the place is a large golden Buddha statue as well as the pier of the same name, from where you will return back to Bangkok. Don't hesitate to visit the viewpoint, from which you'll have the whole village and bay in the palm of your hand. Another activity you can try is kayaking through the mangrove forests, which costs about 200 baht and is a fun experience as you glide along the river lined with dense mangroves.
The place is dominated by a large statue of the golden Buddha and also the eponymous port from which you will return to Bangkok.
Keep today for yourself and just relax. Enjoy the peace and quiet, have a good meal, and soak up the ocean. It's entirely up to you how you want to spend it. You can visit the beach you liked the most, explore the island on a scooter, go diving, get a final tan, enjoy some local treats, and have a nice drink during the last sunset.
For animal lovers, we recommend visiting Sabai dog sanctuary, a rescue station for the island's dogs, which has been run by a couple from Estonia for more than 10 years.
This friendly couple rescues sick, injured and abandoned dogs from all over the island and offers them for adoption in Europe once they are cured.
You can be in the presence of many of the dogs, chat to the owners about their beautiful but challenging mission and support this project with a few baht for running or food for the dogs... all on a voluntary basis.
The road here leads through a beautiful jungle. :)
Head back to Bangkok, where you can visit anything you missed, and then head home the next day.
You will depart from the village of Ao Salat. Afterwards, you will get to Bangkok from Trat by a minivan that will be waiting for you at the pier and then take you back to Bangkok airport. Make sure to buy your ticket for the airport transfer at least 2 days in advance here.
