It's finally here! Your heart leaps with joy as you look out of the plane window and catch your first glimpse of a land of volcanoes, geysers, waterfalls and glaciers among the snow-white clouds. Moments later, you pick up your rental car at Keflavik airport and you're finally ready to go. Oh, how beautiful Iceland is! After just a few kilometres, all the magic of this country unfolds before you - your first leg will leave you wanting more! What awaits you in the days ahead? Be on your toes!
But first it's time to settle in and relax in Selfoss!

Your heart yearns for adventure, and behind the wheel of your rental car, you're off to discover the beauty of the South Coast. The road passes by and the landscape changes rapidly, until you finally arrive at a place you must not miss: Seljalandsfoss! This breathtaking waterfall plunges 60 metres into a deep valley, the water forming a beautiful foam. And you know what? You can go behind the waterfall itself - but just be aware of the slippery surface! And before you get lost in its magic, your camera will capture the moment in every direction. How could it be more beautiful? Perhaps the way it looks at Skogafoss, which adds even more: when the light is right, the rainbow spreads out right in the shower of the waterfall - like something out of a movie! What's more, this waterfall has become a favourite of filmmakers.

But you're not done for the movie experience yet - next up is the mysterious plane wreck at Sólheimasandur. After parking your car, you'll take a short but fascinating walk through the deserted landscape. Freezing wind, black rocks, distant mountains and the ocean on the horizon - and suddenly a plane wreck appears in front of you. You can't resist the unique and raw charm of the surroundings. And if you crave more spectacular scenery, head to the cliffs of Dyrholaey on the black beach of Reynisfjara.

The Golden Circle reveals more gems! With your bike in hand, you will head to the unique Kerid Crater (note: entrance fee is payable on site). What awaits you here? A magnificent spectacle of diverse colours! The bright blue lake in the crater contrasts with the red lava walls, and the morning sun highlights these vivid hues even more! The sound of thundering waters accompanies you on your way to the stunning Gullfoss before you reach the Strokkur, Stóri and Great Geyser geysers in the Haukadalur geothermal area. These water fountains shoot into the air with astonishing force - like a miracle of nature! Don't forget the photos - you want to keep this as a souvenir.

What next? Head to Thingvellir National Park for an incredible view of the interface between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. The movement of these plates has shaped the dramatic, rugged landscape of Allmann Gorge - truly breathtaking! What's more, here too you will encounter another magnificent waterfall - Öxarárfoss.

If you are still in the mood for more water spectacle, don't miss the detour to Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls, which are guaranteed to take your breath away with their beauty and uniqueness.

The first rays of sunlight accompany you on your journey to the Snæfellsnes peninsula, which has a lot to offer. Steep cliffs, impressive volcanic craters, dramatic waterfalls and cute seals all await you. Your first stop is Ytri-Tunga beach, where you can admire the seals in their natural habitat. A little further west, you'll be amazed by Bjarnarfoss Waterfall, which drops 80 metres into deep valleys surrounded by moss-covered lava fields. And then the road takes you to the Black Church itself - Búdakirkja in Búdir. This church stands alone in the rugged landscape as if painted on canvas.

Back behind the wheel, you will continue and more than once be amazed by the surrounding nature once again. From the deep gorge of Raudfeldsgjá you reach a mysterious stone bridge that rises between steep cliffs, where the surf crashes against the hard rock. At Djúpalónssandur beach, famous for its black pearl, you will feel as if you have stepped into a completely different world. The pitch-black sand and the remains of an old shipwreck are guaranteed to give you goosebumps.

The journey then takes you to the next breathtaking stop - Saxholl Crater. From here, you'll get a view of the majestic Snæfellsjökull volcanic glacier that proudly dominates the entire peninsula. And for Game of Thrones fans, a stop at Kirkjufell is a must. This iconic "Arrowhead Mountain" boasts a distinctive shape, and nearby is Kirkjufellsfoss, a waterfall that creates the perfect picture for your memory card.

After all the adventures of the last few days, you are in for a completely different experience - a geothermal pampering between the sky and the sea. You'll find this perfect contrast right outside the gates of Reykjavik! Sky Lagoon will transport you to the seventh heaven. In the hot emerald green water, surrounded by steam, you will be drifting between the rough lava rocks. The endless North Atlantic stretches out before you as the sun slowly sinks into its surface. This is a moment to remember!

What next? Exploring Reykjavik definitely can't be missing from your to-do list. Want a view straight out of "Lord of the Rings"? Head to the observation deck of Hallgrímskirkja Church and enjoy panoramic views of the city and surrounding area! If heights don't appeal to you, wander around the harbour and admire the modern architecture, including the Harpa Concert Hall, a true masterpiece. And if you haven't yet experienced the Northern Lights, the "Perlan" museum is the perfect stop for you.
