Steam and smoke, hissing and bubbling - the hot springs around the volcanic area of Krýsuvík are simply unmissable! Follow the wooden walkways to reach the fiery heart of Reykjanes. The ground beneath your feet plays with every colour and you can almost feel the raw energy of the earth pulsing from the depths.
Next stop is the Fagradalsfjall volcano, which has recently become a sensation in all media. Now is your chance to experience it for yourself. Although the lava flows that created the breathtaking spectacle have cooled down, the landscape remains stunning. Follow the trails that lead through the wild, dragon-like landscape and watch the lava flow.
What about Gunnuhver? It's really hot in here! This is Iceland's hottest thermal area, with temperatures below the surface exceeding 300 degrees Celsius.
Reykjanes has another ace up its sleeve, though: the Brúin milli heimsálfa bridge. This 18-metre-long bridge connects two continental plates - Eurasia and North America. It is a fascinating place where you can literally cross from one continent to the other and marvel at the unique phenomenon of the movement of the Earth's plates!
