We took this trip when the boys were four and two years old, and I was seven months pregnant. It was actually our first baby boom. And it was really successful!
We wanted to show the boys a different continent, a different world, and warm up a bit in the gloomy Czech November, have the sun on our faces and the wind in our hair. And also enjoy our last vacation as a family of four.
Phu Quoc immediately charmed me from the photos at home. Some criticize it for not being Vietnam, but all fake. And some love it. And I'll be in the latter category. I recommend it to all travelers with babies, toddlers, smaller and bigger children. It's simply the place to be for them! And for you, the first exotic experience without unnecessary worries - no additional vaccinations, lurking diseases, poisonous animals, and flowers. On the contrary, pleasant climate, high hygiene standards, great food even for little ones, well-stocked shops (diapers, baby food, etc. can be found everywhere) and such lovely people. And the activities for children! Come and discover it with me.
The goal of today is "only" to arrive at the hotel and explore it. If you have time and energy, you can have fun in the games room or on the beach.
Smaller airport, you enter the airport hall by stairs from the plane across the airfield. Keep this in mind when packing things for the plane, I especially recommend a travel stroller that will fly with you on board the plane. You can rent it e.g. here.
The airport has very nice staff who deliberately look for families with small children in the queue and handle the entry formalities with them as a priority.
You can catch a taxi right in front of the airport exit. Of course, you can immediately enjoy an adventure, grab your suitcases and children in your teeth and catch some tuk-tuk. But a normal taxi in front of the airport will be better. Don't worry, the cars are beautiful, modern, mostly electric and you can also get a car seat. The journey is less than an hour, a quiet ride without turns, traffic, the children will definitely not feel bad.

But a normal taxi in front of the airport will be better. Don't worry, the cars are beautiful, modern, mostly electric, and a car seat can also be found. The journey is less than an hour, a calm ride without turns or traffic, the children will definitely not feel sick.

Today's goal is to recharge after the journey. You'll swim at the beach, play at the great water playground, and later in the afternoon, head out for your first exploration of the surroundings - to the amazing Grand World park.
Traveling, especially intercontinental travel with jet lag, is challenging for children. Don't overdo it on the first day and enjoy some fun together at the resort. Head to the beach.
In hotel complexes, you can usually find a section for children with a pool (and a bar for parents) and an outdoor playground. An animation program may take place by the outdoor pool. Explore your hotel and find out what it offers for both children and you.

When you get tired of relaxing at the resort, you can take a beautiful air-conditioned green bus from the main reception, which will take you to the center of the nearest town and Grand World Park for free. You'll be there in a few minutes. If your hotel doesn't offer a shuttle bus, use a taxi (Grab app).
In the park, you will walk through a number of huge art sculptures, which are a great experience for children. Some even have slides 😀. You can also visit a few replicas of temples that will give children a taste of Asian culture. And you can refresh yourself around the water canal, which resembles Venice in Vietnamese style.
And if that's still not enough, you can visit a smaller teddy bear museum.
Of course, you can stay until late in the evening and enjoy several evening shows that the place offers. But it may also be wiser to return to the hotel and recharge your batteries for a busy tomorrow.

You will return by the same green bus that departs from the bus station just across the street. It is marked with "Melia Vinpearl" or you can use the Grab - taxi application again.

Today will be worth it! Vietnamese Disneyland with all the trimmings. The biggest paradise for children. Carefully pack everything for a full day of fun (and swimwear if you're only going for one day).
Transportation to the venue is the same as yesterday - from the main reception of the hotel, board the large green bus that will take you directly in front of the entrance to the amusement park in a few minutes. Or use Grab taxi.
Get on the green bus first thing in the morning and go to the VinWonders amusement park for the opening. You can buy tickets online (for a better price) or at the hotel reception or on site. And be sure to bring a stroller, you'll be on your feet all day (and lots of fun!).
Don't worry about crowds of people, there are fewer rather than more of them.
Tip: head right through the park for the rides, because on the left is a large water park, from which you really can't get the kids out. Many of the rides have a height limit, but you'll still have a great time with small children.
We liked the enchanted castle, the western town, and Hobbiton the most. The giant Ferris wheel was the most beautiful and the huge aquarium was absolutely gorgeous for young and old. We even saw penguins there. There are also various shows taking place there. In the afternoon, we also managed the water park and stayed until the evening show (fireworks with music). Honestly, it was too demanding and I would recommend spreading the visit to Vinwonders park over two days - one day for the amusement park and the other for the water park.

You can return to the hotel by the same green bus marked "Melia Vinpearl" from the same stop where you got off in the morning. Or again, Grab taxi.

You can relax at the resort, but you'll probably want to (especially the kids) revisit "Disneyland", specifically the water park part. It's worth it!
The mode of transport is exactly the same as in previous days - from the main reception of the hotel by a large green bus directly to the entrance of the amusement park. Or Grab taxi.
The route will be the same as yesterday, but this time, after entering the area, turn left and you will find a large water park with lots of toboggans and various water attractions. You'll wear out your swimwear here!
Again, there is a height limit on several slides, but even with small children you can have great fun, e.g. on the wild river or shooting from a water cannon. Our kids enjoyed the water fountains spraying from the ground the most. There is also a relaxation area and a large selection of good refreshments. A full day of fun is guaranteed!

When they start kicking you out of the park, get back on the green bus marked "Melia Vinpearl" in front of the park entrance. Or take a Grab taxi.

Visiting the Zoo is always great for both young and old. And what about visiting a Zoo in Asia! You can look forward to exotic as well as domestic animals, a rich program, a train ride, giraffe feeding, and above all, an unforgettable experience in the form of a safari ride - from the bus you will see freely moving tigers, herds of zebras, antelopes, rhinos... all-day fun guaranteed.
You can get to the Zoo by the same bus you used to visit the VinWonders amusement park. This time, however, you will go all the way to the final stop. The journey will take about 20 minutes. Again, you board a large air-conditioned bus at the reception and you are on your way. I recommend leaving early in the morning. Or Grab taxi.
A very nice safari zoo with a rich program. You can buy tickets on the spot. The terrain in the zoo is slightly uphill, but nothing too challenging. You can get around everywhere with a stroller.
If you go for the opening, you'll catch the welcome dance, which the kids will really enjoy. Various performances take place in the amphitheater throughout the day, we especially liked the show with exotic birds. Younger children will appreciate the contact part of the zoo, where they can pet goats and kids.
You can buy a shorter train ride that will take you to the place where the safari program begins. You will board an air-conditioned bus and drive through individual enclosures with animals, of which there are really a lot. Freely moving lions, herds of rhinos, antelopes, giraffes... all this is guaranteed to captivate the children :)
Near the giraffe enclosure, you can enjoy a tasty lunch and also buy a small basket with food for the giraffes. It's an experience for everyone.

A visit to the zoo can easily take a whole day. Take the same green bus back to the hotel. It departs from a small stop directly in front of the zoo entrance and is marked "Melia Vinpearl" again. Or Grab taxi.

After all these trips, it's also necessary to enjoy the comfort of the resort, get a little tan, swim in the sea, and above all, prepare everything for tomorrow's departure home.
Treat yourself to some relaxation on the beach or by the pool with a drink in hand and get ready to return home.
For adventurers, there are of course a number of other trips to take, such as visiting the beach with starfish, or moving to the southern part of the island, where you can board the longest cable car suspended above the sea in the world and arrive on an island that is one big water park, take a boat trip, explore the surrounding fishing villages... after all, it will be better to have rested and happy children before the trip...

Full of wonderful memories, happy children, rested and satisfied parents, and just the journey home.
You can conveniently order a taxi to the airport from the main hotel reception. The journey takes about 40 minutes again in complete peace.
The airport terminal, especially the departure lounge, is quite small. There are a few shops, a few mini-refreshments, but you can't get a proper meal here. So keep that in mind and pack a hearty snack with you. There is a small relaxation room, but not exactly a playroom for small children. Have a safe trip home!
I believe you are returning home full of experiences with your children, who thoroughly enjoyed their stay on Phu Quoc Island. They got acquainted with a completely different culture, yet felt at home thanks to the warmth of the locals. The fun you have together on trips is what you and your children will always remember.
