An intensive road trip where you'll encounter a medieval castle in Kinvara, breathtaking cliffs plummeting into the sea, and explore the remains of ancient Irish settlements. The journey is the destination; your eyes will feast on the sights wherever you look.
Visit the charming town of Kinvara, enjoy a hearty brunch in one of the cafes, and visit the local Dunguaire Castle - it's a pleasant short walk from the town (about 15 minutes). Alternatively, you can drive and park in the castle car park opposite the castle. You can admire the castle from the outside; from April to October you can visit one of the castle banquets that are regularly held here. More information can be found on the castle website.

To one of the most magical parts of Ireland - to the rugged and gentle landscape of Connemara, where the road winds between lakes, mountains and peat bogs, as if created for slow, fascinated travel. The destination is the fairytale Kylemore Abbey, which is reflected in the lake like a scene from another world – quiet, majestic and perfectly set in the surrounding wilderness. After a walk through the monastery and its gardens, you slowly return towards the coast. The evening belongs to the city of Galway, which after a quiet day feels like a return to life in its most vibrant form. The narrow streets are filled with music, laughter and the warmth of lights from pubs. You enter a traditional Irish pub, where the wood smells of history and music is created right in front of you.
Today you will visit Kylemore Abbey, once again, the journey is the destination. The Connemara region is a true delight for the eyes and spirit. Everything is vibrantly green, the hills are pleasantly rounded, and of course, there must be flocks of sheep. You park in the parking lot, which is free for visitors. You can buy tickets online in advance here. The ticket is valid for a tour of the interior spaces (without a guide - you move around on your own) and also for the beautiful Victorian garden and grounds that stretch around the area. We spent several hours there, there really is a lot to see. The monastery has a rich history regarding the stay of the local nuns, who still live there today.

Park at the accommodation and set off to explore everything that the city of Galway has to offer. You'll find there's definitely a lot to see.
Get lost in the streets of Galway, admire the local architecture, and enjoy a walk through the city center.

Galway Cathedral welcomes you with tranquility and space, which seems almost unexpectedly solemn in the center of Galway. Admission is free, with only a voluntary contribution for operation expected, so you can walk through it without any pressure. Inside, you will find light streaming through stained glass and a quiet atmosphere that slows down even in the middle of a busy day.

Finish your walk in a classic Irish pub. Watch a hurling match, have something good to eat, and above all, taste the local whiskey. The atmosphere here is absolutely unforgettable.

The day begins with a dip in the icy Atlantic, which will wake you up perfectly in a few seconds and set the tone for the whole day. On the way east, there is a short stop in Limerick, just to soak up the atmosphere of the city on the River Shannon and stretch your legs along the way. The afternoon is devoted to arriving in Dublin, where the energy of the street mixes with history and vibrant culture. End the evening with good food and drink in one of the local establishments – exactly how Dublin knows how to captivate everyone after a long day on the road.
Start your morning on the Salthill Promenade. If you're a fan of cold water swimming, you can try the waters of the Atlantic, just like we did.

After a refreshing swim, head back to the capital, where you'll return the car at the airport. We stopped in the city of Limerick along the way. We strolled through the picturesque streets and had a nice lunch.

Return the car at the airport; you won't need it in the city.
From the airport, take the airport bus towards your accommodation. It stops at several locations right in the city center, and tickets can be conveniently purchased via the Aircoach app. Enter the terminal you arrived at, and the destination is Dublin City, Kildare Street. The line is number 700 and currently costs 9 Euros. You can find the current price list here.
Check out the neighborhood around your accommodation and have something good in a classic Irish pub :)

Visit Dublin Castle, where stories of kings, administration, and the city's dramatic history mingle. Just a few steps away, the quiet, almost sacred atmosphere of Christ Church Cathedral awaits you, its interior feeling like a journey back centuries. The afternoon belongs to one of the greatest experiences of the entire trip – Trinity College Dublin. The famous library with its endless wooden shelves and the legendary Book of Kells is an unforgettable experience. The day ends where history turns into taste and aroma – at Jameson Distillery Bow St. The distillery experience is the perfect ending to a day full of history, culture, and powerful moments – exactly as Dublin does best.
Next, stop by one of the local churches. You can find tickets to tour the inside here.

Book lovers will hardly breathe here. This is one of the most beautiful libraries. Tickets are often fully booked, I recommend booking in advance. There is a renovation in 2026 and part of the books are moved out of the shelves. Consider whether to visit after the renovation. Tickets can be purchased online here. It also houses one of the oldest manuscripts, the so-called Book of Kells.

And here's a little tip for whiskey lovers. I wasn't particularly interested in this drink before visiting the former whiskey distillery, but now I really enjoy it with the memory of this place. The guides are very enthusiastic and can get you very excited about the whole thing. You can taste the whiskey on site and you will be explained how to do it properly. You will also be introduced to the history of the building, the brand and the Jameson tradition. After the tour, we spent most of the evening in the local bar, where we tasted Jameson cocktails and drinks. Hotel receptions sometimes have discounts of 10-15% on visits to this distillery. Be sure to take advantage of it.

Today, you'll just say goodbye to the city, visit the lively Temple Bar district, and head back to the airport.
If you have time before your departure, take a walk through the Temple Bar district, where you can soak up the local atmosphere.
To get back to the airport, take the 700 line again. It's ideal to buy the ticket via the Aircoach app again. If you're going straight from the hotel, get on at the same stop where you arrived. If you've used the time to walk around Temple Bar, get on at the Westmoreland St or Aston Quay stop, depending on which one is closest to you.
Remember to be at the airport at least 2 hours before departure, and have a pleasant trip home.
You are in for a journey that combines the most authentic aspects of Ireland – from wild ocean scenery to vibrant city life. Each day brings a different atmosphere, but they are all united by one thing: the unmistakable Irish character that will slowly but surely win you over. You will take away not only photographs, but mainly feelings – the wind from the Atlantic, the smell of old pubs, and the silence of monastery gardens. Dublin will offer you a final chapter full of history, literature, and whiskey, which pleasantly concludes the whole journey. And when you return home, you will be sure that Ireland is not a one-time destination – it is a place you will want to return to.
