The ferry ride from Tallinn to Helsinki takes approximately 2–2.5 hours and is operated by three main companies: Tallink Silja, Viking Line, and Eckerö Line. Ferries depart up to 11 times a day, mainly from Terminal A (Viking and Eckerö) or Terminal D (Tallink) in Tallinn and arrive at West Harbour Terminal 2 or Katajanokka in Helsinki. Tickets can be conveniently purchased online via Direct Ferries or directly from the individual operators. Prices for foot passengers range from approximately €20–80. It is recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure.

Senate Square (Senátní náměstí) is one of the most significant and well-known places in Helsinki. It is dominated by Helsinki Cathedral (Helsingin tuomiokirkko) and is surrounded by important buildings such as the Government Palace, the main building of the University of Helsinki, and the National Library of Finland.

The Old Market is located right by the harbor, next to the Kauppatori market square, and is beautifully decorated with Christmas trees, garlands, and warm lights.
It's open daily (Monday-Saturday) from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and on Sundays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Ideally, visit on weekdays in the morning or afternoon when there are fewer tourists and the stalls are freshly stocked.
So realistically: go there between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM, treat yourself at the stalls, soak up the winter atmosphere with some glögi, and have a warm soup – and you'll have the Christmas spirit of Helsinki in full swing.
Get to the harbor and start your journey back to Tallinn. Whether you do it in the morning or afternoon is up to you. Just keep in mind that the last ferry runs in the evening around 10.
