Hello! My name is Katka and I am looking forward to our Portuguese adventure!
I'll show you the world's capital - the capital of Portugal - Lisbon in a way that only locals know! Together, we will soak up the atmosphere of this historic city and not to miss the port wine!
Our journey will also continue south to Algarve. Here you can enjoy beautiful beaches and cliffs, traditional fishing villages, a nature park, salt pans and the Dead Sea, cork oaks, local Algarvian wine and many other experiences...
I have been living in Portugal for more than 10 years now and I want to pass on my energy and enthusiasm for this beautiful country as we travel together.
Accommodation:
Transport:
We will use public transport most days (metro in Lisbon), some days we will have a car and driver.
Food: We will eat in local pubs and sample local specialties.
Takeaway: Sports clothes, sunscreen, sunglasses, swimsuit, backpack, sneakers and flip flops.
Money: For food costs, please allow approximately 25€/day (always 1 hot meal per day). Prices in supermarkets in Portugal are very similar to those in the Czech Republic. In cafes, 0.5l water costs about 1€, coffee 1€, glass of wine 2,50€, toast 3,50€, dessert 2€, soup 1,50€, etc.
Welcome to Lisbon :-) My name is Katka and I am looking forward to seeing you! I will meet you at the airport in Lisbon and our adventure can begin!
Fly into Lisbon and let's get right to it! Let's make the most of every minute together and set off to explore the capital! We'll store our luggage in the boxes at the airport and head just 3 metro stops to the modern Park of Nations area, where a visit to the famous Oceanarium Lisboa is not to be missed.
On arrival we will arrange a public transport card and a 24h ticket.
The modern district of Lisbon, where the EXPO was held in 1998.

I will show you this metropolis as only the locals know it. We will not only visit the famous sites and monuments, but together we will wander the streets of the old quarters, taste the local liqueurs and I will show you the hidden corners and sights of this city.
One of the most famous sights of the famous district of Belém - the Jeronymite Monastery and Church. In the church rests the famous Portuguese sailor - Vasco de Gama
Don't miss Lisbon's famous bakery, where Portugal's most famous dessert, the PASTEL de BELÉM (puff pastry pudding cake)

A beautiful monument, with statues of all the famous Portuguese personalities from the days of ocean voyages. And did you know there's only one woman? Can you find her? Do you know who she is?

The most photographed monument in all of Lisbon. The beautiful and majestic Belém Tower.

The breathtaking "yellow square", where the palace of King Manuel I was formerly built.

If we run out of tickets, we will buy individual rides
The oldest part of Lisbon - Alfama, where the Portuguese musical style - FADO - originated.
And now for a bit of adrenaline - a ride on the unpredictable historic tram from the centre to the oldest part of Lisbon - Alfama.

Beautiful view of the city

Tour of the Sé Cathedral will conclude with a tour of this metropolis, free afternoon in Lisbon, evening transfer by bus to the Algarve, accommodation in Faro.

Afternoon walk in Faro - in the footsteps of the Moors. Scented with orange trees, Faro is a town with a thousand years of history and still retains its traditional character. During the morning, I will show you "my" Faro - the town where I live.

Before lunch, we will take a boat to the beach in Faro, where we will have 2 options - relax on the beach or walk together to the very end of the beach (a beautiful place with clear water and white sand, like in the Caribbean). Possibility of swimming. For those who are interested, it is possible to implement a surfing lesson - please note that surfing lessons can only be implemented in good ocean conditions. Afternoon return by boat to Faro, dinner together in a local restaurant.

After a hearty breakfast, we will head to the nearby fishing town of Olhao, where the first thing we will see is a traditional market (for locals, not tourists!) We will see local fruits and vegetables, spices, sea salt, herbs, honey, dried fruits, hams, cheeses...and of course freshly caught fish and sea monsters :-) The town of Olhao is a great place to buy typical souvenirs. If you wish, you can have lunch in a traditional fish restaurant.

After lunch we will take a walk (about 2km) and get to the Ria Formosa Natural Park, where there are salt pans with a centuries-old tradition. We will have an amazing tour (in English!!!) with the owner.
The salt pans also include a "Dead Sea" with beneficial effects on the skin and blood circulation. In the afternoon, we can relax and swim in the Dead Sea (it is beautifully heated) and also apply the mud from the Dead Sea (darker swimwear is recommended). A unique experience!

Portugal is the largest producer of cork in the whole world! Let's take a look together at how cork oaks grow, how cork bark is harvested and how it is processed.
If you are interested, we can also take a tour of the cork factory.

In the afternoon we move further inland to the Algarve's Quinta da Tor vineyards. We will learn about wine production in Portugal and taste this delicious wine. The tasting areas are geared for relaxation and there are pools with spectacular views directly over the vineyards. Afternoon return to Faro.

And here we have the last day before departure and it will be worth it! Sneakers, backpack, sunscreen and let's go! The most beautiful trek in the Algarve - 7 hanging valleys. Let's start at Praia da Marinha - a beach that has been declared the most beautiful beach in Europe. Our hike will continue up through the beautiful yellow sandstone cliffs, enjoying views of the Atlantic Ocean along the way! We will also see the famous Cave of Benagil! At the end of our unforgettable hike, we will relax on the beautiful Benagil beach and paddle board to explore the nearby caves and beaches.

Check-out for accommodation, departure from Faro.
I hope you fell in love with Portugal as much as I did! See you soon 😍
