We recommend bringing a valid passport or national ID card and parking on the Spanish side of the border. From there, you'll walk across the famous airport runway – an experience you won't find almost anywhere else in the world. Your destination will be the majestic Rock of Gibraltar, the symbol of Gibraltar and the guardian of the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. On the way up, breathtaking views of two continents and one of the world's busiest shipping straits await you. You'll explore the mysterious depths of St. Michael's Cave, where the play of light and monumental stalactite formations create an almost fairytale atmosphere. You'll also take a peek into the historic GREAT SIEGE TUNNELS carved directly into the rock, which protected this strategic fortress for centuries. At the end of the day, you'll head to Europa Point Lighthouse, the southernmost point of Gibraltar. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the African coast from here and stand at the spot where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. Today you're off to visit legendary Gibraltar, a place where Europe almost touches Africa. Set out to discover the majestic Rock of Gibraltar, mysterious caves, military tunnels, and breathtaking views of the Strait of Gibraltar. Don't forget to pack a valid travel document and head out early in the morning so you can enjoy this unique spot without the crowds. If you're used to walking at all, definitely go on foot and enjoy the beautiful nature and the monkeys. Another option is the minibus that shuttles you between the different spots, or you can take the cable car (check if it's open). I recommend bringing water.

The narrow historic alley Baca's Passage connects the old town with the paths leading to the Rock of Gibraltar. This is where the famous Devil's Gap Footpath begins, which has been used for centuries as an access route to military positions on the Rock. It offers beautiful views of the city, the harbor, and the Bay of Gibraltar. If you continue along the Devil's Gap Path to the battery, expect about a 30-minute walk uphill. The path was originally used by soldiers to access the fortifications and batteries protecting Gibraltar.
One of the oldest coastal artillery batteries in Gibraltar, located on a rocky outcrop about 130m above sea level. It offers stunning panoramic views of the city, the harbor, the Bay of Gibraltar, and the Spanish coast. Before entering, we pay an admission fee that covers entry to all attractions.
The symbol of Gibraltar is the wild Barbary macaques🦍 - the only wild monkeys in Europe. You'll often walk right past them. Don't look them in the eye, as they see it as a provocation, and keep an eye on your belongings (phone, glasses, cap...)
We continue onwards towards the 🌉 Windsor Suspension Bridge, a 71-meter-long suspension bridge that spans a deep gorge in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, offering unique views of Gibraltar, the sea, and the African coast. An adventure awaits you in the far south of Europe. You'll set off early in the morning (after 8 AM) towards Gibraltar, where British culture, dramatic nature, and fascinating history blend in a small territory. We recommend bringing a valid passport or national ID card and parking on the Spanish side of the border. From there, you'll walk across the famous airport runway – an experience you won't find almost anywhere else in the world. Your destination will be the majestic Rock of Gibraltar, the symbol of Gibraltar and the guardian of the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. On the way up, breathtaking views of two continents and one of the world's busiest shipping straits await you. You'll explore the mysterious depths of St. Michael's Cave, where the play of light and monumental stalactite formations create an almost fairytale atmosphere. You'll also take a peek into the historic GREAT SIEGE TUNNELS carved directly into the rock, which protected this strategic fortress for centuries. At the end of the day, you'll head to Europa Point Lighthouse, the southernmost point of Gibraltar. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the African coast from here and stand at the spot where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. Today you're off to visit legendary Gibraltar, a place where Europe almost touches Africa. Set out to discover the majestic Rock of Gibraltar, mysterious caves, military tunnels, and breathtaking views of the Strait of Gibraltar. Don't forget to pack a valid travel document and head out early in the morning so you can enjoy this unique spot without the crowds. If you're used to walking at all, definitely go on foot and enjoy the beautiful nature and the monkeys. Another option is the minibus that shuttles you between the different spots, or you can take the cable car (check if it's open). I recommend bringing water.

Gibraltar has its own currency (GIP), the Gibraltar pound.
The narrow historic alley Baca's Passage connects the old town with the paths leading to the Rock of Gibraltar. This is where the famous Devil's Gap Footpath begins, which has been used for centuries as an access route to military positions on the Rock. It offers beautiful views of the city, the harbor, and the Bay of Gibraltar. If you continue along the Devil's Gap Path to the battery, expect about a 30-minute walk uphill. The path was originally used by soldiers to access the fortifications and batteries protecting Gibraltar.
One of the oldest coastal artillery batteries in Gibraltar, located on a rocky outcrop about 130m above sea level. It offers stunning panoramic views of the city, the harbor, the Bay of Gibraltar, and the Spanish coast. Before entering, we pay an admission fee that covers entry to all attractions.
The symbol of Gibraltar is the wild Barbary macaques🦍 - the only wild monkeys in Europe. You'll often walk right past them. Don't look them in the eye, as they see it as a provocation, and keep an eye on your belongings (phone, glasses, cap...)
We continue onwards towards the 🌉 Windsor Suspension Bridge, a 71-meter-long suspension bridge that spans a deep gorge in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, offering unique views of Gibraltar, the sea, and the African coast. If you aren't a fan of heights, you can skip this spot and take the other path.
👑 The Queen's Balcony is a viewpoint on the Rock of Gibraltar named after Queen Elizabeth II's visit, offering stunning panoramic views of the city, the bay, and the African coast.
🪨 St. Michael's Cave hides a fascinating world of thousands of years old stalactites and legends – one of them says that its mysterious passages lead all the way under the sea to Africa. The underground hall is used for concerts and cultural events.
🌤️ The Skywalk Gibraltar is a glass viewing platform 340 meters above sea level, offering a breathtaking view of Gibraltar, Spain, the Mediterranean Sea, and the African coast on a clear day.
🏰 The Great Siege Tunnels are a masterpiece of military engineering, carved directly into the heart of the Rock of Gibraltar during the Great Siege. As you walk through the tunnels, you'll discover original cannon positions, strategic lookouts, and the stories of the soldiers who defended the fortress from the enemy. The atmosphere here will literally transport you more than two centuries back in time.
📍 From here, you can continue all the way to Europa Point, the southernmost tip of Gibraltar with a view of Africa. However, the route is quite long and leads outside the main nature reserve loop, so it's good to allow extra time for the journey. If you're short on time, it might be worth considering whether to visit this spot. Whatever you decide, enjoy the trip and then head back to the parking lot and your accommodation. In the evening, you can enjoy dinner at the hotel, which offers a view of Gibraltar, for one last look at it.
After active days, it's time to slow down and soak up the atmosphere of elegant Puerto Sotogrande, one of the most beautiful marinas on the Costa del Sol. (Again with views of Gibraltar). Relaxing by the tranquil Laguna de las Camelias, where you can enjoy nature and the pleasant surroundings, will be followed by a stroll among the luxury yachts. Afterward, you will head to Playa de Torreguadiaro, a long sandy beach perfect for relaxing, swimming, or sitting back with a view of Gibraltar. You can break up the day with a laid-back lunch at a local pizzeria and enjoy some real holiday vibes.

TOP👌. After exploring Ronda, we'll head to the legendary Caminito del Rey, one of the most breathtaking trails in Spain. Narrow walkways attached to cliff walls will take you high above a turquoise river flowing through a deep canyon. Each turn reveals new panoramic views and offers an experience you'll remember for a long time.

Even if you book a guided tour, you can walk the trail on your own and at your own pace.
