You are arriving at the only airport in Tirana. It is small, easy to navigate, and it won't take long to get out. For the trip into the city, I recommend the LUNA company buses, which will comfortably take you to the center of Tirana for a fraction of the taxi price.
- After you exit the airport, you will have taxi stands either in front of you or to your left (depending on which exit you use). Don't be tempted; keep going towards the parking lot where you should already see the large white LUNA company buses. The buses depart roughly every hour or once they are full (no standing allowed), and there will always be a driver standing by them who will point you to the bus that is leaving next.
- The fare is 400 LEK/€4 (info from 2026); you can pay in either currency, and a conductor collects it during the ride.
- With good traffic, the bus will get you to Skanderbeg Square in about 45 minutes.

For an evening activity, I highly recommend booking an Albanian Night. It's a group of young Albanians who strive to preserve Albanian traditions through performances. The admission price includes the rental of traditional clothing and a show featuring an authentic Albanian wedding (complete with some drama, because it wouldn't be the same without it) with singing and traditional dance. There's no need to worry about a long climb, as the cable car will comfortably take you to the top of the mountains. You'll enjoy a wonderful view on the way up, and an even better one from the lookout at the top, where the whole city below you and the surrounding landscape will be spread out like the palm of your hand. If you're in the mood for a bit of a longer walk, you can choose from several hiking trails that will lead you along the ridge as far as you like. There are also experiences waiting for you in the city, this time of a historical nature. Head out to visit Bunk'Art 2, a unique exhibition located in a former concrete bunker right in the center of Tirana. This one specifically focuses on the period of Albania's occupation by the communist regime and is definitely worth a visit. Just a few steps around Tirana Castle, you can visit the breathtaking Mosque of Namazgah, and on your way back to the hotel, stop by the New Bazaar for souvenirs or just to soak up the market atmosphere.
