Rundetårn (Czech for Round Tower) is a 17th-century tower, one of the many architectural projects of King Kristian IV. It was one of the many projects of King Kristian of Denmark. It originally served as an astronomical observatory and now offers a beautiful view of Copenhagen. It is also particularly famous for its spiral staircase.

Rosenborg Castle  is a Renaissance castle built in 1606 in the Dutch Renaissance style, the typical style of Danish buildings at the time. The Danish Crown Jewels and royal jewels are stored in the cellars of Rosenborg Castle. The adjacent Rosenborg Royal Gardens are also definitely worth a visit. 

On weekends the castle is open from 10:00 to 16:00.

The Copenhagen Botanical Garden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Europe. Visitors can find hundreds of plant species on an area of around 10 hectares. The dominant feature of the botanical garden is the main greenhouse dating back to 1874, which is a real unique with its area of approximately 3000 m2.

If you're interested in art more than nature, the Danish Statens Museum for Kunst (SMK for short) is definitely worth a visit. The Danish National Museum of Fine Arts holds some 9,000 paintings and sculptures, 240,000 prints and over 2,600 casts of sculptures. At the core of the collection are art objects collected by the Danish kings. 

The five-pointed star-shaped Kastellet fortress dates back to the 17th century. Formerly a military fortress, the site is now open to visitors for pleasant walks. 

The Little Mermaid statue from Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale is probably the most photographed object in Copenhagen. It is both a symbol of the city and a beautiful icon of the impressive Nyhavn waterfront.

St Alban's Church, often referred to locally simply as the Church of England, is an Anglican church that was built between 1885 and 1887 to meet the needs of the city's growing Anglican community. 

Directly in front of St. Alban's Church is the impressive Gefion Fountain, which depicts Gefion, the Norse goddess of virgins and agriculture, chauffeuring a troop of animals.

The Danish Royal Palace Amalienborg (Danish: Amalienslot) is the main residence of the Danish kings, currently Margaret II and her family. 

Opening hours on weekends are 10:00-16:00.

This church, often called the Marble Church, dates from 1894 and is easily recognizable by its large green dome, the largest of its kind in all of Scandinavia. Some say the famous St. Peter's Basilica in Rome was the inspiration for this building.

Nyhavn is one of the most iconic places in Copenhagen. Nyhavn is a 17th-century waterfront, canal and entertainment district that stretches from Kongens Nytorv to the harbour front just south of the Royal Playhouse and is lined with colourful townhouses from the 17th and early 18th centuries. The canal harbours many historic wooden boats. There are also many cafes, restaurants and bars, so it is the perfect place for a good dinner or to enjoy a glass of wine or other beverage. 

The Copenhagen Opera House is the national opera house of Denmark and one of the most modern opera houses in the world. It is also one of the most expensive opera houses ever built at a cost of DKK 2.5 billion.

The Holmen Naval Station is one of several naval stations of the Royal Danish Navy, complementing the two Danish naval bases at Frederikshavn and Korsør. Founded in the late 17th century, it is also a visitor attraction with many historic buildings that have played a major role in the history of Denmark and Copenhagen.

Reffen is a street food market, where you can not only have a great meal, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with sitting by the water, but also often hold various events, concerts, etc. 

Amager Bakke, also known as Amager Slope or simply Copenhill, is a waste incinerator located on the Copenhagen island of Amager. On the roof of the building there is a viewing platform with a bar, from where there is a great view of the city. Interestingly, there is a 450m long artificial surface slope leading from the top. There is also an 85m high climbing wall on the outer shell of the building, which in 2022 was the highest artificial climbing wall in the world.

Christiania, also known as the Free City of Christiania, is a semi-independent anarchist commune. It has about 850 inhabitants and its territory covers 34 hectares. The entire zone is spread out on the site of a former military abandonment, which was seized by squatters in 1971 and declared a "free state". It is a unique place that is interesting not only for its lucrative address and the fact that you can smell the quirky architecture and marijuana.

The Öresund Bridge, or simply the Öresund Bridge, is a bridge connecting the Danish capital Copenhagen with Sweden's third largest city, Malmö. The bridge is the second largest fixed bridge in the world - the entire crossing is 16 km long. Interestingly, the bridge consists of a 430 m long man-made peninsula, a tunnel measuring over 3.5 km and running 10 m underwater, a 4 km long artificial island and a 7845 m long bridge. 

Stortortorget is a large square located in the historic centre of the city. The most interesting feature of the square is the magnificent Renaissance Town Hall from 1546. 

The path from Stortorget Square, which leads past old 16th century townhouses, leads to the most beautiful Lilla Torg Square, which is unique for its colourful half-timbered houses. 

Malmö Castle or Malmö Hus is Scandinavia's oldest Renaissance castle. Malmö Castle was alternately owned by Danish and Swedish forces. Now the fortress is used to display various collections of the Malmö Museum, including old paintings, stuffed animals or instruments of torture. There is also a gallery dedicated to Nordic art.

Turning Torso is a skyscraper whose construction began in the summer of 2001 and was completed in 2005. The tower, with its 54 floors, reaches a height of 190 metres and upon completion became the tallest building in Scandinavia. The Turning Torso is unfortunately a private residential building and is not open to the public, but the adjacent promenade, where one can take a beautiful walk, offers a great view of the Öresund Bridge. 

Tivoli is a famous amusement park that was founded in 1843 by Georg Carsensen on the grounds of a former military fortification. It is the second oldest amusement park in the world and covers an area of 82,717 m². Approximately four million people visit Tivoli every year. The park is also home to the world's oldest wooden roller coaster, the Rutschebanen, which dates back to 1914, and the modern Dæmonen roller coaster, where the rides travel at speeds of up to 77 km/h and have a congestion of 4G.
