In the morning, head out to the most significant historical landmarks near the capital – you'll visit the spiritual center of Armenian Christianity, taste local wines, discover the country's only remaining Hellenistic temple, and wrap up the day at the UNESCO-listed Geghard Monastery.

Start with a short trip to the Khor Virap Monastery, one of the most iconic spots in all of Armenia. From here, if the weather is good, you get the most beautiful view of the majestic Mount Ararat. After returning to Yerevan, park the car at your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day without driving – take a local taxi or public transport for an Armenian wine and brandy tasting at the NOY Wine & Brandy Factory. Head to the north of Armenia to the picturesque Lori region, considered one of the most beautiful corners of the entire country. You can look forward to deep green valleys, dramatic canyons, and some of the most important Armenian monasteries inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. You will visit the Sanahin, Haghpat, and Akhtala monasteries and end your day in the mountain town of Dilijan, nicknamed the "Armenian Switzerland," where you can soak up the peaceful atmosphere and enjoy the local cuisine.

You will visit one of the most beautiful monasteries hidden in the forests of Dilijan National Park, take a trip around the iconic Lake Sevan, and climb up to the Sevanavank Monastery for stunning views. You will end the day in the mountain resort of Tsaghkadzor, where you can take a cable car up the slopes of Mount Teghenis and enjoy a zipline ride over the mountain landscape.

One of the most beautiful road trips in all of Armenia. Along the way, you'll drive past Lake Sevan, stop at a medieval caravanserai on the Silk Road, and refresh yourself at the Shaki Waterfall. In the afternoon, the highlight of the itinerary awaits—a ride on the world's longest reversible cable car to Tatev Monastery, which towers majestically over a deep canyon. You'll spend the night in nearby Goris.

On the penultimate day of your Armenian road trip, two more exceptional spots await. You'll visit what we consider one of the most beautiful monasteries in all of Armenia, hidden among the red rocks of the Amaghu canyon, and then head to the Areni cave, where the oldest known traces of wine production in the world were discovered.
