The road is located on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus (under Greece). Under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, only arrival via Larnaca International Airport (your airport) and Paphos or via the ports of Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos and Latsi is considered legal entry to the island. Tourists who enter Cyprus through these border crossings may travel to the northern occupied part of the island (the so-called "Northern Cyprus Turkish Republic", SKTR). However, the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus may require the presentation of an airline or boat ticket as proof that the citizen has entered Cyprus legally when returning to the government-controlled territory. In extreme cases, tourists who have entered the island via other border crossings (in particular Ercan airport) may not be allowed to enter the government-controlled territory.
It is possible for Czech tourists to travel between the two parts of Cyprus on the basis of a valid passport or ID card (for the current situation regarding the measures against the spread of Covid-19, please refer to the relevant article of our office - December 2022, all cancelled, current situation available on mzv.cz). When entering Cyprus through the so-called SKTR, Czech citizens must present a passport valid for at least another 6 months from the date of arrival. In the northern occupied part of Cyprus, Czech citizens may stay as tourists for a maximum of 30 days, unless they prove other reasons for a longer stay when entering the so-called SKTR.
Crossings: on Ledra Street and at the Ledra Palace Hotel in Nicosia (both pedestrian only), Agios Dometios in Nicosia, then to the west Astromeritis-Zodhia, Limnitis, Lefka-Apliki and to the east Pyla-Pergamos, Agios Nikolaos-Strovilia (British base Dhekelia) and Dherynia.
You pick up your car directly at the airport and return it at the same place. Afterwards, you'll transfer to the capital city of Pafos - a city that's at the heart of some amazing UNESCO sites. Here you will spend three nights 🚗

On your way to your accommodation, make a stop in Kourion. Kourion was one of the most important city-kingdoms on the island in antiquity - it is one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Cyprus and later excavations have uncovered many important finds. Kourion has been associated with the Greek legend of Argos of the Peloponnese and its inhabitants were believed to be descended from Argesian immigrants. The once thriving kingdom was eventually destroyed in a massive earthquake in 365 AD. Today, the most interesting things to see here are the remains of the Temple of Apollo, a Greco-Roman theatre, an ancient stadium and a gladiator's house. Open until 5 pm 🕔

The highly rated Artemis Cynthia Complex is located 1 km from restaurants, bars and shops in the tourist area of Paphos. It offers 4 swimming pools, a spacious garden, a fitness centre and self-catering accommodation with a spacious furnished balcony overlooking the pool or the Mediterranean Sea. The Artemis offers air-conditioned apartments with a living room with TV and sofa, and a fully equipped kitchen with dining table and cooking facilities. You can also enjoy the garden with flowers and trees. A bus stop is just a few metres away. The complex is 50 metres from convenience stores, less than 300 metres from supermarkets and a fruit market, 1.5 km from Paphos Town Beach, 3 km from Paphos Old Town and 7 km from Paphos Airport.
The Paphos Archaeological Park or Nea Paphos is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is definitely one of the highlights of your trip. There are ancient remains of the Greeks and Romans here. Among the most interesting are the Villa Theseus, the Roman Theatre and the House of Dionysus. Open until 17:30 🕔

A short walk from your accommodation takes you to one of the most important sights in Cyprus. This is the Tombs of the Kings, located on the coast just outside Paphos. The rock-cut burial site, with a huge necropolis that also has underground sections, dates back to the 4th century BC.

The town of Paphos is definitely worth a closer look. If you like to cool off, swimming at the beaches a few steps from the centre is literally amazing. However, when it comes to historical sites, Paphos doesn't fall behind either. It's on the UNESCO list thanks to the Tombs of the Kings and the archaeological site you've already visited. But there are other attractions here too. The first is the Byzantine Church of Agioi Anargyroi, dating back to 1649, and the second is the Benathian Fortress. It is a medieval castle 🏰
If you get up in the morning, you can at least get in a quick cool down! 😎🏊
