From the dogs, we head off into the sunset to a nearby lookout point that offers amazing views of the surrounding countryside. If the weather cooperates, we'll try to stick around for a while and wait for the next aurora borealis.

Upon arrival, we will have a tour of the adjacent village of Kittilä and the opportunity to see reindeer in their natural habitat. On the fourth day we will go hiking on Mount Kätkätunturi, where we will stretch our legs after a long sitting. Depending on the snow conditions we will either walk or snowshoe. In the evening, we will return to Kittilä and, depending on the weather, we will again look for the Northern Lights.
To stretch our legs after a long day of sitting, we'll take a hike (6 km round trip) up Mount Kätkätunturi. It won't be anything strenuous, all the hills in Finland are pretty low and the terrain is quite friendly. Depending on the snow conditions, we will either go on foot or on snowshoes that we will rent at the rental shop. We stop at Lake Inari, which is the third largest lake in Finland. It offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. We can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the shore. The lake is also known for its cultural importance to the local Sami community. The peace and quiet of this place is magical. 💫
At the end of the day we will drive to the largest village in the region, Ivalo, where we will visit a local family reindeer farm where the animals are treated with great respect. 🤍🦌
