If you want to visit Wat Doi Phrabat, find it on the maps and have the bus driver stop while you're driving. Or you can skip it and get taken back to the Bus terminal.
Wat Doi Phrabat we visited completely by chance and it was great. You climb up the dragon-backed stairs to the temple. It's a peaceful quiet place where you can soak up the temple atmosphere, look at Buddha's footprint or his large statue. We didn't meet a single tourist here, which added to the place's charm.

Wat Chiang Yuen, or Red Temple, is one of the famous temples, but it is not a busy place for tourists. Its decoration is predominantly red and gold. Around the temple stand four large red statues of the rulers of each side of the world. For us, it would be a shame to miss this temple.

CIty park is exactly in the Thai spirit, colorful and kitschy. There's a waterfall and rolling mist over a carpet of flowers. You may even come across artists painting beautiful pictures in the park.
Today's day will be all about tea plantations. In Thailand, the most famous tea is Butterfly pea. It's a blue-violet flower known for changing color in water depending on the pH. The tea plantations we want to show you today grow classic teas such as green, red, black, and white.
You can walk through each of the plantations and have a taste of the local teas.
How to get there? You can rent a motorbike (for example, here), a car, or buy a trip in the city. We explored it on our own motorbikes. You can rent a motorbike for 3 days. Check out the itinerary and decide for yourself.
This tea plantation is our favorite. It is not crowded with tourists and has a peaceful and harmonious impression. Here we had a tasting of teas from 2 producers. Both were named the same, after the name of the plantation, but had different logos and approach.
The first tasting was, for us, quite impersonal and the tea was prepared from funnel bags. However, it still tasted better than some of the loose-leaf teas commonly available here.
The second producer's tea was loose and prepared in the classic way. We tasted all kinds of tea there and they were all excellent.
This plantation may be more remote, but you won't be the only one here. You'll find a nice sitting area with a view of the surrounding area. You can have lunch, but we recommend you wait for the next plantation. Take a walk around the area, as it's really beautiful.
Choui Fong Tea is the most visited. That's why you'll find a great selection of food and delicious tea ice cream, which you should definitely try.
The Golden Triangle is an interesting place in the north of Thailand behind the city of Chiang Saen. It is the place where the borders of three countries - Thailand, Laos and Myanmar - meet on the Mekong River.
As with the plantations, you can rent a motorbike, a car or buy a tour here.
First stop with a view of the tri-state border, which lies on the Mekong River. The site features an ornate gate, lots of statues and, of course, a giant Buddha.
Another viewpoint where you can see the border from a higher altitude.
While you're walking around, take a peek at Wat Phra That Sam Mum Mueang temple.
Visit the local opium museum for lots of interesting information. The museum also has an exhibition of pipes and historical objects.
Today's itinerary includes one of the waterfalls and a visit to the famous village of women with giraffe necks.
You'll get here the same way as in previous days (motorbike / trip).
There is a small car park on site, just off the main road.
Huai Kaeo is a small waterfall with a pleasant path through the jungle leading to it. The whole walk will take you about two hours. On the way back, you can stop for coffee with a beautiful view. You can find the café right below the parking lot.
At the entrance you will get a map for better orientation. Be sure to take it, it will come in handy.
You'll find five tribes in Long Karen Village. Each of them lives in a different way, giving you a glimpse into their culture. However, it's good to take it with a grain of salt, it's still a tourist attraction. If you want to buy a souvenir, there are plenty of stalls.
Today you will be transferred by bus south to the famous tourist resort of Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai is slightly more touristy than Chiang Rai. The main centre, where you will be staying, is surrounded by walls.
We'll show you the local temple, the main shopping street and you can visit a traditional Thai umbrella factory.
Wat Lok Moli is a black and white temple located in the centre of Chiang Mai. In addition to the temple, there is also a pagoda in a small area.
The main shopping street, which every Sunday evening turns into a bustling market full of stalls and tourists. It is the largest market in northern Thailand.
Take a tuktuk or a grab to the centre of traditional Thai umbrella making and trading. There you can choose your own umbrella and have it hand-decorated.
Today you'll ride to a large temple complex in the jungle and around a giant reservoir. You can rent a motorbike here, for example, Friends Guide Chiang Mai.
Wat Pha Lat Trail is a large temple complex hidden in the jungle. The tour can take you a couple of hours as there are several trail routes. You'll see temples, cave niches with statues, a river and views of the landscape. For us, it really is one of the most beautiful Buddhist sites in Thailand.
Mae Kuang Dam is a water reservoir near Chiang Mai. It is located in a quiet and beautiful area that is ideal for motorbike riding.
As you continue on your way, you will find a few stalls in front of the bridge. We recommend having a drink overlooking the water.
You can stop and make a circuit to the lookout, Bat cave and the red earth place. The walk will take you 2-3 hours. Pan Din Vid is a peaceful viewpoint into the valley where the first point of your circuit begins.
Next stop is an interesting place with orange-red soil.
At the end you will reach a small Bat cave.
Today you have an amazing experience awaiting you. You will climb Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand, hike through the national park and, most importantly, visit elephants.
For us, it was important to find a company that doesn't exploit elephants as a tourist attraction (riding, chaining), but treats them with love and respect. Therefore, we are very happy that we found just such a company and can now introduce it to you.
On the website Living Green Elephant Sanctuary you will find a wide selection of trip options. We chose the option of the highest mountain and visiting elephants.
First you will have a 2 hour walk through Doi Inthanon National Park. This included lunch and a nice tasting of coffee and tea from a nearby plantation.
Don't worry, you'll be taken by bus to the very highest peak. On the way back, you'll stop at two large pagodas dedicated to the royal family. There are also views of the surrounding hills.
Before visiting the elephants themselves, you will first learn how to approach them. Then you will have a pleasant time in the elephant enclosure. Feeding, petting and a final swim in the river. During your visit, the locals will take photos for you to view online.
Krabi Province is a tourist destination and it is not surprising. Sea, nature, beautiful temples and much more. Let's explore the best this region has to offer together.
The best way to get to the airport is by using the Grap taxi service. Remember to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours in advance.
From the airport, you can either take the Grap or public transport in the form of minibuses. You can buy a bus ticket on the first floor at the very end of the airport building on the left (coming from arrivals). You don't have to worry about finding your way from the centre to your accommodation. Just tell the driver where you are staying and he will take you to the front of the hotel.
Market like in any other city. Here you can enjoy local cuisine, sit with a drink, or buy some souvenirs or cloths.

The beautiful walk through the jungle from Emerald pool to Blue lagoon will take a few minutes, but you will be rewarded with a view of the azure blue pool. No more swimming here,
This is one of the few natural hot springs with salt water in the world. The temperature of the spring is 40-47°C, so it is better to visit the place either in the morning or in the early evening (or when it is cloudy). There are many pools with different water temperatures. There are mangroves and a gazebo with a massage parlour, so it's an ideal place to relax. There are well-maintained sanitary facilities and lockers for valuables.
A more challenging hike, but definitely worth it. There are 1260 steps to the top, so the climb can take 30-45 minutes. So it's definitely important to bring plenty of water. You'll be rewarded with a spectacular view of the Golden Buddha, and that's of the limestone cliffs with the green jungle and all of Krabi in the palm of your hand. Down below the cliff, you'll also find the famous Tiger Cave, where you can see tiger paw prints.
On your trip, you will also visit Khao Sok, one of the most beautiful national parks in Thailand.
Khao Sok National Park is dominated by Cheow Lan Lake - a large, clear lake surrounded by cliffs. During the trip, you will enjoy a boat ride with stops at the most beautiful rock formations. Then, a jungle walk to a cave and lunch in a floating restaurant await you.
You can also try kayaking on the lake or go for a swim.
Remember to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, swimwear, money, a headlamp, and preferably water shoes.

A beach on the west coast. This is where you'll most likely be dropped off the boat.
Beach on the east coast. There's a nice walk around it, but there are better places to swim.
Phra Nang Beach is for us the nicest beach on Railay. You can walk through it to Princess cave or you can go to the place where they go to observe bioluminescent plankton.
Princess cave is located right on the beach. It is a rock depression, in front of which you will find an exhibition of penises of all sizes and made of all possible and impossible materials.
Behind Princess cave you can walk into the bay.
On the westernmost part of the beach, you'll find a spot where phosphorescent plankton may appear. Keep in mind that the closer it is to the full moon, the lower the chances are. Don't expect the classic internet pictures. There's less plankton here, so you need to go into the water and move around.
At certain times, there are a lot of jellyfish in the area. They can sting you, but they are not life-threatening.
Today's kind of your day off. You can enjoy lounging on the beach and intersperse it with a nice walk through the jungle to the other beach, Tonsai beach.
On the way to Tonsai beach, you can stop at Diamond cave. It's a large lighted cave with lots of bats.
Tonsai beach is right next to Railay beach and there are two ways to get there. Either you can take a jungle walk, which takes less than an hour, or you can walk along the coast, but only at low tide. If you choose the jungle path, don't forget your repellent. Make sure you do the jungle walk at least once, it's easy and very nice.
Tonsai beach is popular with rock climbers, who you're bound to meet there.
Today we're going to take you on a little more challenging trip. You'll climb up to a viewpoint and, if you're brave enough and strong enough, you'll descend to a hidden lagoon.
The climb to the viewpoint is challenging, but worth it. You'll have a steep climb with harder sections. Most of them have ropes though, so nothing that can't be handled. You'll be rewarded with a view of the whole bay. If you're of an adventurous nature, you can head to the beautiful lagoon.
We strongly recommend sturdy footwear.
The path to the lagoon is one level harder than the viewpoint. There is a steep rock wall that you have to climb down by rope in some places. There's only one trail that leads there, so you'll have to go back that way as well.
If you make it to the lagoon, you can enjoy the spectacular view and take a dip. It's worth the effort.
The easiest way to get around Bangkok is by tuk-tuk. Plus, it adds to the atmosphere in a big city. Of course, you can also use other modes of transport or explore the sites on foot.
You can buy your boat ticket at the stand on the main street along the beach. The best option would be to get to this port and then take a taxi to the airport.
You can't miss Bangkok, the main and largest city of Thailand. It is the biggest place for entertainment and commerce. We'll take you to the most important temple, Wat Arun, and the largest Chinatown in Thailand.

Chinatown is quite a large area to explore. Apart from the temples and typical Chinese shops, we definitely recommend the busiest street, Yaowarat rd, which turns into a giant market in the evening.
Today you will head north to the provinces of Ayutthaya and Lopburi. Beautiful ancient temples and the famous monkey town of Lopburi await you.You can explore on your own or buy a tour. We opted for the tour route in this case and it was well worth it. The guide told us the whole history and added quite a few interesting facts about Buddhism and traditions.

Lopburi Monkey Temple & Ayutthaya Old City Tour From Bangkok

Today's day will be all about tea plantations. In Thailand, the most famous tea is Butterfly pea. It's a blue-violet flower known for changing color in water depending on the pH. The tea plantations we want to show you today grow classic teas such as green, red, black, and white.
You can walk through each of the plantations and have a taste of the local teas.
How to get there? You can rent a motorbike (for example, here), a car, or buy a trip in the city. We explored it on our own motorbikes. You can rent a motorbike for 3 days. Check out the itinerary and decide for yourself.
This tea plantation is our favorite. It is not crowded with tourists and has a peaceful and harmonious impression. Here we had a tasting of teas from 2 producers. Both were named the same, after the name of the plantation, but had different logos and approach.
The first tasting was, for us, quite impersonal and the tea was prepared from funnel bags. However, it still tasted better than some of the loose-leaf teas commonly available here.
The second producer's tea was loose and prepared in the classic way. We tasted all kinds of tea there and they were all excellent.
This plantation may be more remote, but you won't be the only one here. You'll find a nice sitting area with a view of the surrounding area. You can have lunch, but we recommend you wait for the next plantation. Take a walk around the area, as it's really beautiful.
Choui Fong Tea is the most visited. That's why you'll find a great selection of food and delicious tea ice cream, which you should definitely try.
The Golden Triangle is an interesting place in the north of Thailand behind the city of Chiang Saen. It is the place where the borders of three countries - Thailand, Laos and Myanmar - meet on the Mekong River.
As with the plantations, you can rent a motorbike, a car or buy a tour here.
First stop with a view of the tri-state border, which lies on the Mekong River. The site features an ornate gate, lots of statues and, of course, a giant Buddha.
Another viewpoint where you can see the border from a higher altitude.
While you're walking around, take a peek at Wat Phra That Sam Mum Mueang temple.
Visit the local opium museum for lots of interesting information. The museum also has an exhibition of pipes and historical objects.
Today's itinerary includes one of the waterfalls and a visit to the famous village of women with giraffe necks.

Huai Kaeo is a small waterfall with a pleasant path through the jungle leading to it. The whole walk will take you about two hours. On the way back, you can stop for coffee with a beautiful view. You can find the café right below the parking lot.

You'll find five tribes in Long Karen Village. Each of them lives in a different way, giving you a glimpse into their culture. However, it's good to take it with a grain of salt, it's still a tourist attraction. If you want to buy a souvenir, there are plenty of stalls.

Mae Kuang Dam is a water reservoir near Chiang Mai. It is located in a quiet and beautiful area that is ideal for motorbike riding.
As you continue on your way, you will find a few stalls in front of the bridge. We recommend having a drink overlooking the water.
You can stop and make a circuit to the lookout, Bat cave and the red earth place. The walk will take you 2-3 hours. Pan Din Vid is a peaceful viewpoint into the valley where the first point of your circuit begins.
Next stop is an interesting place with orange-red soil.
At the end you will reach a small Bat cave.
Today you have an amazing experience awaiting you. You will climb Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand, hike through the national park and, most importantly, visit elephants.

The best way to get to the airport is by using the Grap taxi service. Remember to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours in advance.
From the airport, you can either take the Grap or public transport in the form of minibuses. You can buy a bus ticket on the first floor at the very end of the airport building on the left (coming from arrivals). You don't have to worry about finding your way from the centre to your accommodation. Just tell the driver where you are staying and he will take you to the front of the hotel.
Market like in any other city. Here you can enjoy local cuisine, sit with a drink, or buy some souvenirs or cloths.

The beautiful walk through the jungle from Emerald pool to Blue lagoon will take a few minutes, but you will be rewarded with a view of the azure blue pool. No more swimming here,
This is one of the few natural hot springs with salt water in the world. The temperature of the spring is 40-47°C, so it is better to visit the place either in the morning or in the early evening (or when it is cloudy). There are many pools with different water temperatures. There are mangroves and a gazebo with a massage parlour, so it's an ideal place to relax. There are well-maintained sanitary facilities and lockers for valuables.
A more challenging hike, but definitely worth it. There are 1260 steps to the top, so the climb can take 30-45 minutes. So it's definitely important to bring plenty of water. You'll be rewarded with a spectacular view of the Golden Buddha, and that's of the limestone cliffs with the green jungle and all of Krabi in the palm of your hand. Down below the cliff, you'll also find the famous Tiger Cave, where you can see tiger paw prints.
On your trip, you will also visit Khao Sok, one of the most beautiful national parks in Thailand.
Khao Sok National Park is dominated by Cheow Lan Lake - a large, clear lake surrounded by cliffs. During the trip, you will enjoy a boat ride with stops at the most beautiful rock formations. Then, a jungle walk to a cave and lunch in a floating restaurant await you.
You can also try kayaking on the lake or go for a swim.
Remember to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, swimwear, money, a headlamp, and preferably water shoes.

Aonang is a more interesting tourist location. It offers you a large number of activities such as excursions, diving, snorkeling. For party lovers, there is also a rich nightlife.
A popular, lively beach that we definitely recommend visiting for the sunset or a swim.

V Knock out Aonang hostel offers the opportunity to try Thai boxing training. The training takes place directly on site, where private lessons are also available. Or you might get lucky and catch a fight, which is every Tuesday from nine in the evening.

Koh Phi Phi is a beautiful archipelago that no traveler can miss on a trip through Thailand.
A trip to the Phi Phi Islands in Thailand is a must. We recommend choosing the Phi Phi Early bird trip. It departs in the morning between seven and eight, so you avoid the huge crowds of tourists. We intentionally write huge, because you definitely won't avoid crowds. Nevertheless, it's worth it.

Raylai beach is a popular beach near Aonang that can only be reached by boat. The trip takes about 20 minutes. You can buy a boat ticket at the kiosk on the main street along the beach.
Raylai beach offers quite a few activities and places of interest. We've broken them down for you below for three days, but you can piece them together as you see fit.
Today, we'll give you a tour of the immediate area. You'll be able to find the best place to swim.
A beach on the west coast. This is where you'll most likely be dropped off the boat.
Beach on the east coast. There's a nice walk around it, but there are better places to swim.
Phra Nang Beach is for us the nicest beach on Railay. You can walk through it to Princess cave or you can go to the place where they go to observe bioluminescent plankton.
Princess cave is located right on the beach. It is a rock depression, in front of which you will find an exhibition of penises of all sizes and made of all possible and impossible materials.
Behind Princess cave you can walk into the bay.
On the westernmost part of the beach, you'll find a spot where phosphorescent plankton may appear. Keep in mind that the closer it is to the full moon, the lower the chances are. Don't expect the classic internet pictures. There's less plankton here, so you need to go into the water and move around.
At certain times, there are a lot of jellyfish in the area. They can sting you, but they are not life-threatening.
Today's kind of your day off. You can enjoy lounging on the beach and intersperse it with a nice walk through the jungle to the other beach, Tonsai beach.
On the way to Tonsai beach, you can stop at Diamond cave. It's a large lighted cave with lots of bats.
Tonsai beach is right next to Railay beach and there are two ways to get there. Either you can take a jungle walk, which takes less than an hour, or you can walk along the coast, but only at low tide. If you choose the jungle path, don't forget your repellent. Make sure you do the jungle walk at least once, it's easy and very nice.
Tonsai beach is popular with rock climbers, who you're bound to meet there.
Today we're going to take you on a little more challenging trip. You'll climb up to a viewpoint and, if you're brave enough and strong enough, you'll descend to a hidden lagoon.
The climb to the viewpoint is challenging, but worth it. You'll have a steep climb with harder sections. Most of them have ropes though, so nothing that can't be handled. You'll be rewarded with a view of the whole bay. If you're of an adventurous nature, you can head to the beautiful lagoon.
We strongly recommend sturdy footwear.
The path to the lagoon is one level harder than the viewpoint. There is a steep rock wall that you have to climb down by rope in some places. There's only one trail that leads there, so you'll have to go back that way as well.
If you make it to the lagoon, you can enjoy the spectacular view and take a dip. It's worth the effort.
The easiest way to get around Bangkok is by tuk-tuk. Plus, it adds to the atmosphere in a big city. Of course, you can also use other modes of transport or explore the sites on foot.
You can buy your boat ticket at the stand on the main street along the beach. The best option would be to get to this port and then take a taxi to the airport.
You can't miss Bangkok, the main and largest city of Thailand. It is the biggest place for entertainment and commerce. We'll take you to the most important temple, Wat Arun, and the largest Chinatown in Thailand.
Wat Arun is a 17th-century Buddhist temple. It is a large complex where you can easily spend two hours. The temple is highly decorated with colorful porcelain and dominated by the main tower. You will see many smaller statues representing old Chinese soldiers, animals, and much more. Just like in other tourist spots, you can rent a traditional costume to take pictures in.
If you would like to enjoy the sunset with Wat Arun, just get to the other side of the river.
Chinatown is quite a large area to explore. Apart from the temples and typical Chinese shops, we definitely recommend the busiest street, Yaowarat rd, which turns into a giant market in the evening.
Today you will head north to the provinces of Ayutthaya and Lopburi. Beautiful ancient temples and the famous monkey town of Lopburi await you.You can explore on your own or buy a tour. We opted for the tour route in this case and it was well worth it. The guide told us the whole history and added quite a few interesting facts about Buddhism and traditions.

We recommend visiting rather in the morning to avoid the crowds of tourists.
After seeing the temple, return to the main road. On the left side, as you head back to Chiang Rai, you'll find an inconspicuous stop.
If you want to visit Wat Doi Phrabat, find it on the maps and have the bus driver stop while you're driving. Or you can skip it and get taken back to the Bus terminal.
Wat Doi Phrabat we visited completely by chance and it was great. You climb up the dragon-backed stairs to the temple. It's a peaceful quiet place where you can soak up the temple atmosphere, look at Buddha's footprint or his large statue. We didn't meet a single tourist here, which added to the place's charm.
From the temple, you can walk back to the center, order a Grab, or catch a bus or tuk-tuk. If you walk, you can also stop at the Red Temple. See point below.
Wat Chiang Yuen, or Red Temple, is one of the famous temples, but it is not a busy place for tourists. Its decoration is predominantly red and gold. Around the temple stand four large red statues of the rulers of each side of the world. For us, it would be a shame to miss this temple.
NIght market in Chiang Rai is located in the centre and you can find everything from food to souvenirs to clothes.

This is one of the few natural hot springs with salt water in the world. The temperature of the spring is 40-47°C, so it is better to visit the place either in the morning or in the early evening (or when it is cloudy). There are many pools with different water temperatures. There are mangroves and a gazebo with a massage parlour, so it's an ideal place to relax. There are well-maintained sanitary facilities and lockers for valuables.
A more challenging hike, but definitely worth it. There are 1260 steps to the top, so the climb can take 30-45 minutes. So it's definitely important to bring plenty of water. You'll be rewarded with a spectacular view of the Golden Buddha, and that's of the limestone cliffs with the green jungle and all of Krabi in the palm of your hand. Down below the cliff, you'll also find the famous Tiger Cave, where you can see tiger paw prints.
On your trip, you will also visit Khao Sok, one of the most beautiful national parks in Thailand.
Khao Sok National Park is dominated by Cheow Lan Lake - a large, clear lake surrounded by cliffs. During the trip, you will enjoy a boat ride with stops at the most beautiful rock formations. Then, a jungle walk to a cave and lunch in a floating restaurant await you.

Princess cave is located right on the beach. It is a rock depression, in front of which you will find an exhibition of penises of all sizes and made of all possible and impossible materials.
Behind Princess cave you can walk into the bay.
On the westernmost part of the beach, you'll find a spot where phosphorescent plankton may appear. Keep in mind that the closer it is to the full moon, the lower the chances are. Don't expect the classic internet pictures. There's less plankton here, so you need to go into the water and move around.
At certain times, there are a lot of jellyfish in the area. They can sting you, but they are not life-threatening.

On the way to Tonsai beach, you can stop at Diamond cave. It's a large lighted cave with lots of bats.

Either you can take a jungle walk, which takes less than an hour, or you can walk along the coast, but only at low tide. If you choose the jungle path, don't forget your repellent. Make sure you do the jungle walk at least once, it's easy and very nice.
Tonsai beach is popular with rock climbers, who you're bound to meet there.
Today we're going to take you on a little more challenging trip. You'll climb up to a viewpoint and, if you're brave enough and strong enough, you'll descend to a hidden lagoon.
The climb to the viewpoint is challenging, but worth it. You'll have a steep climb with harder sections. Most of them have ropes though, so nothing that can't be handled. You'll be rewarded with a view of the whole bay. If you're of an adventurous nature, you can head to the beautiful lagoon.
We strongly recommend sturdy footwear.
The path to the lagoon is one level harder than the viewpoint. There is a steep rock wall that you have to climb down by rope in some places. There's only one trail that leads there, so you'll have to go back that way as well.
If you make it to the lagoon, you can enjoy the spectacular view and take a dip. It's worth the effort.
The easiest way to get around Bangkok is by tuk-tuk. Plus, it adds to the atmosphere in a big city. Of course, you can also use other modes of transport or explore the sites on foot.

Today you will head north to the provinces of Ayutthaya and Lopburi. Beautiful ancient temples and the famous monkey town of Lopburi await you.You can explore on your own or buy a tour. We opted for the tour route in this case and it was well worth it. The guide told us the whole history and added quite a few interesting facts about Buddhism and traditions.

Lopburi Monkey Temple & Ayutthaya Old City Tour From Bangkok
One of the oldest temple complexes of Ayutthaya. Here you will find pagodas, small temples, a royal hall or the famous head statue, covered in the roots of the Buddha tree.

After seeing the temple, return to the main road. On the left side, as you head back to Chiang Rai, you'll find an inconspicuous stop.
If you want to visit Wat Doi Phrabat, find it on the maps and have the bus driver stop while you're driving. Or you can skip it and get taken back to the Bus terminal.
Wat Doi Phrabat we visited completely by chance and it was great. You climb up the dragon-backed stairs to the temple. It's a peaceful quiet place where you can soak up the temple atmosphere, look at Buddha's footprint or his large statue. We didn't meet a single tourist here, which added to the place's charm.
From the temple, you can walk back to the center, order a Grab, or catch a bus or tuk-tuk. If you walk, you can also stop at the Red Temple. See point below.
Wat Chiang Yuen, or Red Temple, is one of the famous temples, but it is not a busy place for tourists. Its decoration is predominantly red and gold. Around the temple stand four large red statues of the rulers of each side of the world. For us, it would be a shame to miss this temple.
NIght market in Chiang Rai is located in the centre and you can find everything from food to souvenirs to clothes.

Today's day will be all about tea plantations. In Thailand, the most famous tea is Butterfly pea. It's a blue-violet flower known for changing color in water depending on the pH. The tea plantations we want to show you today grow classic teas such as green, red, black, and white.
You can walk through each of the plantations and have a taste of the local teas.
How to get there? You can rent a motorbike (for example, here), a car, or buy a trip in the city. We explored it on our own motorbikes. You can rent a motorbike for 3 days. Check out the itinerary and decide for yourself.
This tea plantation is our favorite. It is not crowded with tourists and has a peaceful and harmonious impression. Here we had a tasting of teas from 2 producers. Both were named the same, after the name of the plantation, but had different logos and approach.
The first tasting was, for us, quite impersonal and the tea was prepared from funnel bags. However, it still tasted better than some of the loose-leaf teas commonly available here.
The second producer's tea was loose and prepared in the classic way. We tasted all kinds of tea there and they were all excellent.
This plantation may be more remote, but you won't be the only one here. You'll find a nice sitting area with a view of the surrounding area. You can have lunch, but we recommend you wait for the next plantation. Take a walk around the area, as it's really beautiful.
Choui Fong Tea is the most visited. That's why you'll find a great selection of food and delicious tea ice cream, which you should definitely try.
The Golden Triangle is an interesting place in the north of Thailand behind the city of Chiang Saen. It is the place where the borders of three countries - Thailand, Laos and Myanmar - meet on the Mekong River.
As with the plantations, you can rent a motorbike, a car or buy a tour here.
First stop with a view of the tri-state border, which lies on the Mekong River. The site features an ornate gate, lots of statues and, of course, a giant Buddha.
Another viewpoint where you can see the border from a higher altitude.
While you're walking around, take a peek at Wat Phra That Sam Mum Mueang temple.
Visit the local opium museum for lots of interesting information. The museum also has an exhibition of pipes and historical objects.
Today's itinerary includes one of the waterfalls and a visit to the famous village of women with giraffe necks.
You'll get here the same way as in previous days (motorbike / trip).
There is a small car park on site, just off the main road.
Huai Kaeo is a small waterfall with a pleasant path through the jungle leading to it. The whole walk will take you about two hours. On the way back, you can stop for coffee with a beautiful view. You can find the café right below the parking lot.
At the entrance you will get a map for better orientation. Be sure to take it, it will come in handy.
You'll find five tribes in Long Karen Village. Each of them lives in a different way, giving you a glimpse into their culture. However, it's good to take it with a grain of salt, it's still a tourist attraction. If you want to buy a souvenir, there are plenty of stalls.

Take a tuktuk or a grab to the centre of traditional Thai umbrella making and trading. There you can choose your own umbrella and have it hand-decorated.

Wat Pha Lat Trail is a large temple complex hidden in the jungle. The tour can take you a couple of hours as there are several trail routes. You'll see temples, cave niches with statues, a river and views of the landscape. For us, it really is one of the most beautiful Buddhist sites in Thailand.
Mae Kuang Dam is a water reservoir near Chiang Mai. It is located in a quiet and beautiful area that is ideal for motorbike riding.
As you continue on your way, you will find a few stalls in front of the bridge. We recommend having a drink overlooking the water.
You can stop and make a circuit to the lookout, Bat cave and the red earth place. The walk will take you 2-3 hours. Pan Din Vid is a peaceful viewpoint into the valley where the first point of your circuit begins.
Next stop is an interesting place with orange-red soil.
At the end you will reach a small Bat cave.
Today you have an amazing experience awaiting you. You will climb Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand, hike through the national park and, most importantly, visit elephants.
For us, it was important to find a company that doesn't exploit elephants as a tourist attraction (riding, chaining), but treats them with love and respect. Therefore, we are very happy that we found just such a company and can now introduce it to you.

Today we're going to take you on a little more challenging trip. You'll climb up to a viewpoint and, if you're brave enough and strong enough, you'll descend to a hidden lagoon.
The climb to the viewpoint is challenging, but worth it. You'll have a steep climb with harder sections. Most of them have ropes though, so nothing that can't be handled. You'll be rewarded with a view of the whole bay. If you're of an adventurous nature, you can head to the beautiful lagoon.
We strongly recommend sturdy footwear.
The path to the lagoon is one level harder than the viewpoint. There is a steep rock wall that you have to climb down by rope in some places. There's only one trail that leads there, so you'll have to go back that way as well.
If you make it to the lagoon, you can enjoy the spectacular view and take a dip. It's worth the effort.
The easiest way to get around Bangkok is by tuk-tuk. Plus, it adds to the atmosphere in a big city. Of course, you can also use other modes of transport or explore the sites on foot.
You can buy your boat ticket at the stand on the main street along the beach. The best option would be to get to this port and then take a taxi to the airport.
You can't miss Bangkok, the main and largest city of Thailand. It is the biggest place for entertainment and commerce. We'll take you to the most important temple, Wat Arun, and the largest Chinatown in Thailand.
Wat Arun is a 17th-century Buddhist temple. It is a large complex where you can easily spend two hours. The temple is highly decorated with colorful porcelain and dominated by the main tower. You will see many smaller statues representing old Chinese soldiers, animals, and much more. Just like in other tourist spots, you can rent a traditional costume to take pictures in.
If you would like to enjoy the sunset with Wat Arun, just get to the other side of the river.
Chinatown is quite a large area to explore. Apart from the temples and typical Chinese shops, we definitely recommend the busiest street, Yaowarat rd, which turns into a giant market in the evening.
Today you will head north to the provinces of Ayutthaya and Lopburi. Beautiful ancient temples and the famous monkey town of Lopburi await you.You can explore on your own or buy a tour. We opted for the tour route in this case and it was well worth it. The guide told us the whole history and added quite a few interesting facts about Buddhism and traditions.

Lopburi Monkey Temple & Ayutthaya Old City Tour From Bangkok

This city was taken over by monkeys, and the entire population had to adapt to them. You'll see barred windows, damaged cars, etc. In Thailand, monkeys are considered sacred animals. That's why the locals feed them and let them do as they please.
To harm a monkey is a great disrespect. In short, just as they have cows in India, they have monkeys here.
This monkey temple is located in the centre of Lopburi. The most interesting thing here is not the building itself, but mainly its monkey settlement. The monkeys are cheeky, so watch out for them.
