Today, after your arrival, you will pick up the car (according to the instructions you received before the trip) and drive to your accommodation near the capital city of Argostoli. If you have time left, use it to explore the surrounding area.
Arrival to the island and car rental.
Stop in the capital Argostoli and then drive to the national park with the highest peak of the island. A short trail to the summit and then departure to your accommodation.
Stopover in the capital. There will also be time for it on the last day so I recommend just a quick walk through the centre and a stop at a patisserie. I recommend Spathis bakery :)
You will probably need to park your car further away from the centre, parking is difficult here.
The highest peak of the island with a beautiful trail. You can drive up to the transmitter and then walk almost along the ridge to the top for about 2 km in one direction.
You can also leave your car a little lower down by the playground and seating area. There is a footpath from there roughly 200m in the direction of DOWN! The elevation gain is greater and the length of the trail is 4.5 km one way. So it depends on your fitness, taste and time. The views from here are spectacular and don't forget to write in the summit book. I recommend using gps.
Take plenty of fluids and headgear with you.

The owner's name is Padelis. he is a very peculiar person and he loves his horses more than anything. I spent more than a month with him and I know these horses very well, so I recommend him even to beginners. Until Padelis verifies that you are a very experienced rider, someone is guiding the horse the whole way. Arrangements can be made to trail to the beach or around the neighborhood. But always early in the morning or later in the afternoon because of the heat. The beach here is pebbly.🐎
Other options are a ride to Drogarati cave, or Drograrati and Melissani cave. Padelis was also a guide there for a few years, don't be afraid to ask him anything, although he will claim he doesn't remember anything. You will arrive at the cave on horseback, wait for him to walk through it and ride back. The last option for advanced riders is a longer ride, during which you'll see the remains of villages that were almost flattened by the 1953 earthquake. His mother is from one of them.

Zervati cave is a short walk from melissani cave. It's basically its smaller sister, which is not as well known and that's why it's free to enter. Plus, unlike Melissani, you can swim in the exact same water there. Beware, the water is cold! The entrance looks a bit scary, but it's really worth it. Not many people know about it and the path then splits, that's because there are two pools.

You travel to the island by boat. Along the way, there are several stops for swimming in the beautifully clear water. You can also jump from the boat. I recommend diving goggles and a snorkel for the trip. The longest stop for food is in the town of the same name.
I recommend booking with Cruises Zaharatos, it is possible to book online. Departure is at 9 am from the port in Sami. Reservations are necessary in advance, especially in season. The first stop is at Pera Pigadi Island for swimming. I recommend taking a snorkel into the water here, I even saw an octopus here.
They give small refreshments along the way. The next stop is Filiatro and the second stop for swimming. The third stop is in the capital of Ithaca "Vathi", where there is a 1.5 hour break. You can go for food or take a walk around the town. There are beautiful shops here.
Stop number five is Lazareto, which is a tiny island near the port of Vathi, and the last stop is again for swimming at the famous Gidaki beach.

Myrtos beach is probably the most famous beach in Kefalonia so expect a lot of people. It's a blue flag beach and if any beach deserves it, it's 100% this one! I personally have never seen such PERFECTLY blue water anywhere else!
Along the way, there is a viewpoint where you can take a photo of Myrtos beach from above.
In the evening you will probably only have time for dinner and a walk around the town. Save the rest for the next day.
