Pick up your car at the airport as instructed.

On the very next day you will travel to see the highlights of the area. I hope you rested yesterday and are ready to hike! Bring comfortable clothes and shoes!
One of the best places to see the midnight sun on Senja. For many, Grytetippen is a favourite hike on Senji and it's not hard to see why! At the top you can enjoy impressive views of Ørnfjorden, Husøy, Segla, Barden, Keipen and Breidtinden. Grytetippen is an incredible place to see the evening and midnight sun. The hike isn't particularly dangerous until you reach the top, but watch out for the steep cliffs on the ridge line at the top.
Distance: 3.4 km
Time: 2:30 hours
Climb: 820 m
Parking: there are small parking spaces along the road where you can leave your car. If these small spots are already occupied, you will have to walk along the other trailhead. More parking spaces are usually available there.
>
The first part of the hike is a muddy, steep climb up the side of the mountain. Slipping and falling into a mud puddle is a real possibility. While I like hiking in difficult terrain, the first part is not particularly fun.
There is, however, a small creek on the side of the trail and several small waterfalls that are very pretty. After about 40/45 minutes of hiking, the terrain changes from muddy to rocky. You will then have to cross a flat area before you reach the last part of the climb through a debris field.
If you want to go to Grytetippen, keep to the left. Keipen is on your right. This second part of the hike is slow. The debris field is steep and requires caution as several boulders are unstable. The trail is also not easily recognizable, but you can follow the small cairns that other hikers have left behind.

Hike the most famous mountain Senja. Segla is the most popular hike in Senja. The steep trail follows the south side of the mountain to the summit 639 meters above the ocean below. At the top there are spectacular views of the Mefjord and surrounding mountains. The steep western cliff will give anyone enough adrenaline to peer over the edge. The trail is steep but not overly exposed, keep to the right as you climb the mountain. Keep an eye out for rocks loosened by other hikers above you. The top can look a little scary if you're afraid of heights, especially when it's crowded. Try an evening hike and watch the sunset and you may have the summit to yourself for a while at least.
Distance: 2 km
Time: 1:30 h
Climb: 590 m
A small car park is located behind Senja Montessoriskole school in Fjordgard. GPS coordinates: 69.504415, 17.625956
There is a sign next to the parking lot marking the trailhead.

Today will be a bit more physically demanding again, sturdy shoes and good clothes for hiking are essential!
Tungeneset on Senja takes sightseeing and picnic spots to the next level with its Nordic design structure nestled between Steinfjord and Ersfjord. From this walkway built from Siberian larch, enjoy views of the Norwegian Sea to the west and the intense Okshornan Mountains, also known as the Devil's Jaw, to the north. The wooden walkway ends with a pair of concrete steps near the sea and boulders. This area along the sea is a great place for an afternoon picnic or even a place to watch the sunset or the Northern Lights. Whatever your reason for visiting, be sure to bring your camera to capture the idyllic scenery.

Husfjellet is one of the popular hiking trails on the island of Senja in northern Norway, after Hesten and Segla. This medium-sized hiking trail will reward you with great scenery over Steinfjord, Ersfjord and Bergsfjord, the classic Senja landscape with its stunning mountains and fjords.
Distance: 8 km
Time: 3-4h
Elevation: 635 m
The trail goes over the summit of Sommardalen, 327 m. Good hiking boots that are waterproof are a must here, as there can be quite a lot of mud all the way to Sommardalen and a bit beyond. Going up Husfjellet on a rainy day is really not worth it, as you can see almost nothing and will probably be covered in mud up to your knees. The Husfjellet hiking trail starts from the Berg Church in Skaland.

Kråkeslottet is a pearl on the island of Senja, a beautiful place to enjoy the surrounding nature.

Bergsbotn is a 44-metre long platform and lookout located on the northwestern edge of Senja Island. It is surrounded by the Bergsbotten mountain range, the Bergsfjord and the surrounding mountains.

Today, the wildlife lover will find his/her own. Get your hats and cameras ready and watch out for the glacier sliding.
The fantastic Steindalsbreen glacier in the Steindalen/Gievdanvággi valley is well worth a visit. Both the glacier and the valley are considered geological treats - and it's also worth taking a closer look at the flora near the glacier. The hike from the car park to the glacier and back is 12.4 km and you should allow 5-6 hours in total. Part of the trail is marked. Note: Do not hike the glacier alone unless you have adequate experience! The trail is primarily used for hiking and nature hikes and is best used from July to October.
It is always a better decision to visit the glacier based on the current weather and conditions.

Today will be a bit more relaxed, we will have beautiful nature and just easy walks.
If you want to get a first impression of what the Lyngen Alps are all about, this hike is sure to give you a great insight. The 3-hour hike (with return) will reward you with stunning views of the turquoise-blue waters of the glacial lake Blåvatnet. This hike is perfect for the whole family. The best time to walk to the lake is in summer or autumn. The beautiful blue colour of the water is strongest on a sunny afternoon.

A walk to Lyngstow, the furthest point of the Lyngen Peninsula, is suitable for young and old alike. There is a small lighthouse and a hut at the end of the trail. Lyngstuva offers panoramic views of the surrounding fjords, islands and the Fugløysundet Strait. It is the perfect place to enjoy the midnight sun in summer and the Northern Lights in winter. Sami, Kven and Norwegian cultural sites are mixed along the trail. Several of these places are marked. The remains of two wrecks can be seen on the sea shore below the lighthouse.
Distance: 3.5 km
Time: 2:00 h

Sea Kayaking is a truly unique and exciting way to explore the coast. For me, one of the best experiences in Norway.
Sea Kayaking is a truly unique and exciting way to explore the coast. For me, one of the best experiences in Norway. Untouched wilderness on a sea kayak under the magical light of the midnight sun, a natural phenomenon where the sun is above the horizon and provides 24 hours of daylight. Stunning views and thriving wildlife are just some of the things you'll experience while paddling! The exact location of your trip to beautiful Kvaløya should be chosen on the day, depending on the weather. You will receive kayaking instructions from the instructor at the marina with a quick briefing on paddling technique and safety.
https://www.getyourguide.com/tromso-l32375/ The experience can be purchased in advance directly through Getyourguide, per person this trip will cost about 140euro with transport and instructor. Please check availability in advance.
Paddle along the wild coastline and discover amazing rock formations, hidden coves and empty beaches. Relax with a picnic on an enchanting island and enjoy the warmth of an open wood fire, barbecues and hot drinks
Trip time 8 hours
(may vary depending on weather)

We are slowing down in terms of difficulty, but the beautiful views will be no less!
The Arctic Cathedral, or Ishavkatedralen in Norwegian, is the real landmark of Tromso. It is on every postcard and it is the image of Tromso. You can easily spot the Arctic Cathedral from the city's harbor, Tromso Center, but if you want to see the stunning mosaic, you have to head across the Tromso Bridge and enter the church. It's an easy walk (30 minutes) with beautiful views of the harbour and the city.

Mount Floya- This is one of the best hikes in Tromso with fantastic views of the city of Tromso
Two ways: ride the cable car or walk to Mount Floya. The hike is great and takes about 1 hour one way (3 km).
The cable car departs every half hour, the journey takes 4 minutes each way

If you only have one museum to visit in Tromso, this is it. It shows the unique position Tromso had as a capital city and as the "gateway to the Arctic". The exhibitions give an insight into the hard life that hunters had over the winter in Svalbard. The lives of famous hunters such as Henry Rudi and Wanny Wolstad, as well as the amazing polar expeditions of Fridtjof Nansen and Roald Amundsen, are just some of what you will learn about in this museum.

Open daily 11:00-17:00

The new "star" in Tromso is the floating sauna Pust, located right in the harbour in the centre of Tromso. Here you can take a dip in the Arctic sea (if you dare...it's freezing), then relax in the warm and cozy sauna. If you're lucky, you can see the Northern Lights dancing in the sky in autumn and winter, or enjoy the golden light from the midnight sun while relaxing in the sauna in summer. The architectural shape of the sauna is so cool with huge glass windows and actually floats on the water with stunning views of Tromso harbour, the Arctic Cathedral and the mountains surrounding the city. The carnival resembles an iceberg floating in the water and I'd say it fits well with the top shape of other buildings in Tromso, such as the Arctic Cathedral and the Polaria Aquarium. You can book the whole sauna (2 hours) or one person (then you may have to share it with others, max 8 people in total)
Ticket price: 195 NOK = 22 USD per person
