This is a modern bridge that was completed in 2008. It connects the Santa Lucia train station with Piazzale Roma, facilitating pedestrian access between these aforementioned key locations.

The basilica is home to several important works of art. The most famous are the masterpieces of the Renaissance painter Titian (who is also buried here), especially his "Assumption of the Virgin Mary". In addition, there are sculptures by Donatello and other paintings by artists such as Giovanni Bellini.

I have to say that I was personally very impressed by the basilica. I was amazed at the low price of admission💯

The museum is dedicated to the life and work of Leonardo da Vinci. It offers interactive experiences that include more than 60 working models of machines, reproductions of his famous paintings, anatomical studies and digitally manipulated manuscripts. You can explore his paintings such as "Mona Lisa" and   "The Last Supper" 👍

For me, the great thing is that the museum is interactive, so you can touch a lot of things.

Scuola Grande di San Rocco is famous for the paintings of Tintoretto and is often considered the "Sistine Chapel" of Venice 🎨👨‍🎨

Dorsoduro is one of the six historic districts of Venice. It is known for its picturesque canals, cultural institutions and artistic atmosphere. It boasts several important landmarks, including the famous Peggy Guggenheim Collection or the Gallerie dell'Accademia.

When you have more time, don't be afraid to get off the beaten path and just explore the neighborhood off the beaten path.

If you are interested in art, a visit to Gallerie dell'Accademia is a must. 

It contains the largest collection of Venetian art in the world. In total, it includes more than 800 works by renowned artists such as Tiziano, Veronese and Bellini, including the important painting "Pietà" by Titian, which is considered his last work. 

I personally spent more time here than I expected. At times the exhibition was quite repetitive, but at other times it managed to surprise me with its monumental spaces and works.

Peggy Guggenheim was a major American art collector who in her lifetime managed to amass one of the most important private collections of modern art, one of Europe's most important modern art galleries. ✨

And it's really worth it! If you don't want to go to any other gallery, at least give this one a try‼

Santa Maria della Salute is an iconic Baroque church in Venice⛪

It was built in the 17th century in thanksgiving for ending the plague epidemic that struck the city in 1630. The church is known for its majestic dome and richly decorated interior, which contains important works of art, including paintings by Titian. 

It's free to get in, so at least take a spin. There's also a lovely view of the landmarks of St Mark's Square from the seafront in front. 🌞👍

Ponte dell'Accademia is one of the four bridges that span the Grand Canal in Venice. It offers one of the most beautiful views of the canal, especially of the iconic Church of Santa Maria della Salute and the surrounding palaces.

Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo is the place to go when you want to enjoy the view of the city but avoid the crowds like in St Mark's Square. It is a fascinating historical building, known mainly for its unique spiral staircase tower, which is a combination of different architectural styles. From here you have a breathtaking view of the Venetian rooftops and St. Mark's bell tower. It is such a less touristy alternative 😉

One of the oldest bridges in Venice, I recommend going there in the evening at sunset. You'll get spectacular views of the canal and the houses illuminated by the sun's rich rays. 🌅 The bridge was built between 1588 and 1591, designed by the architect Antonio da Ponte, to replace the previous wooden structures that were often destroyed by fire.

Near the bridge there is also the Rialto Market, which is famous for its fresh food and local specialties 🍤🍔

From here you will set sail for adventure in the morning! The pier can be reached through the building behind the KFC. There, you just wait for the right boat and it's time to set sail.

Your first stop will be the island of Murano, where you will be treated to a demonstration of the production of glass objects directly from the hands of skilled local glassmakers. I personally found the whole island to be a little bit of a quieter Venice. Since this is a place famous for its traditional glassmaking craft, there will be shops on every corner where you can buy souvenirs or just waste time browsing.

Burano is a picturesque island in the Venetian lagoon, famous for its colourful houses and traditional lace production. The houses were originally painted so that fishermen could easily find them in the fog. When painting the houses, residents must get permission from the local authorities and can only choose from pre-approved colours. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of Venice's main tourist areas, while still offering the charm of Italian culture. 

I must say that I was personally very surprised and impressed by the island! A beautiful photogenic place not to be missed! 😍

I also recommend not to be afraid to leave the main road and go somewhere on the outer quieter streets. You don't have to worry about getting lost, the island is quite small.

This neighbourhood is known for its high population density and authentic local character, which sets it apart from more touristy areas. One of the most prominent features of this district is the Jewish ghetto, which is one of the oldest in Europe and contains several synagogues and other historical sites.

A renowned wine bar that is definitely worth a visit! I myself was recommended it and now I can't help but recommend it further. After all, after a full day on the nearby islands, one deserves some of that wine as a reward right? 🍷

Excellent pizza at a great price! 

If you're a pizza lover, I'd say you won't visit this place just once😏

Buy your train tickets to Verona here first thing in the morning (you can also buy return tickets). I recommend the red Trenitalia machines, which are everywhere in the station. The machines are very intuitive, so nothing to worry about 😉 

Ponte Scaligero is a beautiful brick bridge that was once part of the city's defence system. It offers great views of the Adige River and the surrounding city. It connects to the Castelvecchio Museum and just around the corner is also the Arco dei Gavi, so you can take it all in at once 😉

This cafe is AMAZING! 😍

I've never had better hot chocolate than here ☕

Verona's oldest and liveliest square. It was originally a Roman forum and is still surrounded by beautiful Renaissance and Gothic buildings. The square is full of cafes, markets and shops, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere 🫶

The tower was built in 1172 by the Lamberti family and today serves as an exceptional place for a spectacular view of the entire city. It has two famous bells - the Rengo bell, which was used to announce civic affairs and summon the council, and the Marangona bell, which warned residents of fires or other disasters.

I recommend a visit. If you're not into stairs don't worry, there's an elevator😁

A smaller and elegant square near Piazza delle Erbe. It is surrounded by important buildings such as the Palazzo della Ragione and the Loggia del Consiglio, and in the middle is a statue of the poet Dante Alighieri, who lived here for a time.

The famous house with the balcony where, according to legend, the scene between Romeo and Juliet took place. Interesting is not only the symbolic connection with Shakespeare's story, but also the statue of Juliet in front of the house, which brings "luck in love" if you touch it 💕

The most famous part of the house is the balcony, which symbolizes the scene from Shakespeare's play where Juliet talks to Romeo. This balcony was added to the house in the 20th century to make the house more true to the literary work.

Lesser tip: You can get into the courtyard with the balcony and statue for free. Admission is only charged if you want to tour the whole house 💵

The gardens are known for their beautiful landscaping, classic Italianate features and symmetrical layout that includes flower beds, clipped hedges, cypress alleys and statuary. The labyrinth of tall shrubs, one of the oldest in Europe, is also an important part of the garden.

If you're pressed for time, feel free to skip the visit and go straight to the next place 🚶

They are the unearthed remains of ancient buildings and historical structures ⏳

San Fermo Maggiore is one of the most important churches in Verona, known for its beautiful architecture, historical significance and rich artistic decoration. According to legend, the church is the site of the marriage of Romeo and Juliet 👰🤵

We only got a glimpse of the church from the outside, but you can also go inside if you want.

The Roman Amphitheatre, which is the third largest preserved amphitheatre in the world (after the Colosseum in Rome and the amphitheatre in Capua). It was built in the 1st century and is still used for opera performances and concerts. It is one of the most important symbols of the city. ⭐

There is a beautiful park with a church in front of the station, so if you have some time left, you can spend it here. On the way back, get off at the Venice terminal 🚄

I don't even know what to write... just a shop full of bucks. This is a must see and maybe buy some souvenir 😂

Libreria Acqua Alta in Venice is a unique bookstore, known for its unusual interior. 📚 Books are displayed here in tubs, boats and gondolas to protect them from the floods that Venice regularly experiences. Castello is the largest of the six historic districts. It is ideal for those who want to explore the less touristy areas of Venice and experience the authentic atmosphere of the city. In this district you can also find picturesque streets, traditional shops and local restaurants where you can enjoy Venetian cuisine 🍝

It is the main and most famous square in Venice, where many iconic historical monuments are located. These include the majestic St. Mark's Basilica, the imposing Doge's Palace, the famous Campanile bell tower and the Clock Tower.

I recommend that you set aside some time in the square as there are plenty of places to visit!!!😋

These are among the symbols of Venice. It was built in the 9th century to preserve the relics of Saint Mark the Evangelist, the patron saint of Venice. The basilica is famous for its beautiful Byzantine architecture, which combines Italian and Eastern elements.

It's best to buy a skip the line ticket online in advance. Many times there are big queues.

This Gothic palace, for centuries the seat of the Doges of Venice, is one of the most important historical and architectural monuments of Venice. It is famous for its richly decorated pink marble façade, its inner courtyards and its magnificent halls, such as the Hall of the Great Council, where important decisions were made ✨

One of the most famous and romantic bridges in Venice. It connects the Doge's Palace with the former prison. According to legend, it is called the "Bridge of Sighs" because the prisoners crossing it sighed at the loss of their freedom when they last saw Venice through the small windows. Today, however, the bridge is seen primarily as a romantic symbol, often associated with the idea that a kiss underneath it brings eternal love 💕

A tour of the bridge is part of the Doge's Palace tour. 

The tower rises to a height of approximately 98 metres and is located next to St Mark's Basilica. What makes it so interesting is that, in addition to the beautiful view, it also offers the opportunity to see historic bells that were made in the Middle Ages🔔

Back here you can buy a ticket for bus 35 (or any other direction to the airport) and hurry home. Don't forget to leave plenty of time at the airport.
