The first rays of the sun accompany you on your journey around the Snæfellsnes peninsula, which immediately captivates you with its beauty. Steep cliffs, ancient volcanic craters, dramatic waterfalls and cute seals welcome you to Ytri-Tunga beach. Continue west, where Bjarnarfoss waterfall plunges into the depths, its cascades surrounded by moss-covered lava fields. Your next stop takes you to the lone Black Church of Búdakirkja in Búdir, which stands serenely against the vast landscape like a painted picture. Once again you get behind the wheel and continue into the narrow Raudfeldsgjá gorge, which brings you to a stone bridge amidst rugged cliffs where the surf crashes against the hard cliffs. On the black pearl beach of Djúpalónssandur, a completely different world awaits you, where you can feel the magical atmosphere among the black sand and the remains of an old ship. Climb the steps up to the impressive Saxholl Crater and be mesmerised by the magnificent view of the majestic Snæfellsjökull volcanic glacier that towers over the entire peninsula. And for Game of Thrones fans, a stop at the legendary Kirkjufell with its iconic waterfall scenery, Kirkjufellsfoss, is a must.

As evening approaches, the tension builds and you eagerly await the moment when the night sky comes alive and the Northern Lights begin to dance above you.

Don't miss a trip to the snow-covered waterfalls of Hraunfossar and Barnafoss! Hraunfossar consists of many small waterfalls that flow freely over lava fields and into the river. On the other side, Barnafoss falls in dramatic cascades into a narrow gorge. This magical place is perfect for your cameras!

And now it's time for the Golden Circle! Your first stop takes you to Thingvellir National Park, where you have the unique opportunity to marvel at the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates whose movements created the dramatic Allmann Gorge. With the roaring Öxarárfoss instantly etched in your memory album, you continue to the Haukadalur geothermal area where you will be amazed by the Strokkur, Stóri and Great Geyser geysers. The tall fountains of hot water that shoot up from the depths of the earth will literally amaze you! You get behind the wheel of your rental car and set off on a journey down the south coast, exploring the most breathtaking places. Here, an extensive network of hiking trails takes you through lava plains and crystal rivers fed by the glaciers of Skeidarárjökull, Morsárjökull and Skaftafellsjökull. Your main destination? Svartifoss! This iconic waterfall truly lives up to its name - water cascades down from dark basalt columns covered in snow, creating a mesmerising, almost surreal image. Before the cold gets to your bones, however, you keep on going.

The glacial lagoon of Jökulsárlón welcomes you with a tranquil atmosphere and a view that will take your breath away. Vast expanses of glittering ice float in the blue waters here, while the black sandy shoreline of Diamond Beach at the lagoon's edge contrasts with diamond-like ice crystals. When the sun or the Northern Lights are added, the scenery will overwhelm you with its beauty.

On the Stokksnes Peninsula you will find another natural wonder: the majestic Vestrahorn, whose winter mantle of white snow emphasises the wildness of the landscape. Reykjanes has another ace up its sleeve, though: the Brúin milli heimsálfa bridge. This 18-metre-long bridge connects two continental plates - Eurasia and North America. It is a fascinating place where you can literally cross from one continent to the other and marvel at the unique phenomenon of the movement of the Earth's plates!
