- On arrival in Madeira, I will pick you up at the airport and we will go to accommodate. We will have a car and driver at our disposal during the whole stay.
- We will take a short tour of the area and have a welcome drink.
- In the morning we will head to the capital of Madeira - Funchal. First, we will visit the Botanical Garden with almost three thousand species of plants from all over the world, which stretches high in the hills and offers us an unforgettable view over the city.
- We then drive down to the old town itself, the Zona Velha, where we get a glimpse of the traditional farmers' market Mercado dos Lavradores, full of flowers, exotic fruits, spices and fish.
- Walk down an alleyway filled with Santa Maria artwork, stopping for lunch at one of the many local restaurants along the way.
- Next, we will enjoy a view of the old town from the 17th century São Tiago Fortress.
- From here, we weave through the old town, through Columbus Square to the Cathedral of Sé from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, and then down the bustling Avenida Arriaga street to the port where luxury ocean cruise ships often dock.
- We end our walk at the museum of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, a famous native of Madeira.
- In the morning, we'll head north. We wouldn't even be in Madeira if we weren't on the ice. Today we have a roughly 10km walk along the Royal Levada. The Levada do Rei is considered one of the most beautiful in Madeira, flowing in the São Jorge area in the northeast of the island through the original and unique Laurisilva laurel forest, which has been preserved here since the Tertiary period.
- After a hearty lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit the traditional town of Santana, famous for its picturesque thatched-roof houses.
- We'll end the trip at the Guindaste Lookout, where we'll have a stunning view of the ocean - and, with good visibility, the island of Porto Santo.
- Today we're going high into the mountains. We will visit the 3rd highest peak of Madeira Pico do Areeiro (1818 m), where we will have spectacular views (often above the clouds) of the majestic mountain range, from here we will see the highest mountains of the whole island.
- We then descend to the village of Ribeiro Frío, in the central part of Madeira, where we will take a short walk along the levadas to the sight of Balcões.
- Next we will visit Porto da Cruz, where we will have lunch and then a walk with breathtaking views over the high cliffs of the northeast coast. Finally, we stop at the historic Engenho do Norte sugar mill and "rum house" for a tasting of local rums made from sugar cane.
- On this day, we will have a pleasant cleansing of mind and body as we walk through the enchanting evergreen countryside of the Rabaçal Valley in the west of Madeira. We will walk along traditional levadas that will lead us to the majestic Risco Falls and the magical 25 Fontes. We will also stop at the nature conservation centre to learn more about the island's unique ecosystem. We will end our walking tour on the Paúl da Serra plateau at an altitude of approximately 1300 m above sea level.
- After a hearty refreshment, on the way back we will stop on the south coast at the famous Cabo Girão reef, which rises 580 meters above sea level. This imposing cliff with its glass viewing platform offers a breathtaking view of the farmers' fields below and the endless sea stretching out before us.
- Today everyone can enjoy the island atmosphere in their own way. We can spend a free day in Funchal, or at the festivities, or ideally both.
- We can stroll through downtown Funchal and shop for souvenirs, visit one of the museums, churches or the tranquil St. Catherine's Park. Wine lovers can taste the famous Madeira wines. Or take a lane ride to Monte Hill, where a tropical garden and the famous sledges, which are used in winter and summer, await. For the adventurous, there's the option of cetacean watching with marine biologists or cruising on a replica of the Caravel Santa Maria. There are more than enough activities! Everyone will be happy to choose where they are most tempted.
- On this day, we also plan to attend a cultural event (according to the above program), where we can enjoy traditional music with the locals, taste local specialties and experience real Madeiran fun.
- It's the perfect time to set off to explore the South West. Our day will start with a morning walk along the picturesque Funchal promenade to Praia Formosa Beach, where we can refresh ourselves and soak up the ocean atmosphere.
- From here we walk to the charming fishing village of Câmara do Lobos, which charms with its colourful boats and pleasant atmosphere. Here we will taste (if we haven't done so already:) the fisherman's poncha - a refreshing rum drink.
- We'll then line the southern coast, where we'll enjoy the spectacular views and calm atmosphere of small towns such as Ribeira Brava and Jardim do Mar. Each of these towns has its own distinctive charm, from traditional architecture to cosy cafés and quaint squares.
- If the weather really cooperates, we can spend the afternoon instead of visiting the towns - on the sandy beach in Calheta:).
- At the end of our stay we will have the icing on the cake - trek along the beautiful and dramatic São Lourenço Peninsula to Cape St. Lawrence, located on the easternmost tip of the island. We are treated to breathtaking colourful cliffs, steep cliffs and the vast ocean that surrounds the entire peninsula. This trip is a real adventure for nature lovers.
- Once we reach the very end, we have a snack and depending on the weather and our appetite, we either head back on our own or, as a reward, take a boat ride along the coast with beautiful rock caves dug by the ocean itself back to the harbor.
- After this trip, weather permitting, we will rest on the wild beach of Prainha.
- Or we can enjoy the view of the bay where the discoverers of Madeira landed in 1419 from the Pico do Facho lookout point, where we will have a panoramic view of the entire coastline, and then take a walk along the harbour in the town of Machico. This day will remain in our memory as an unforgettable experience full of beauty, adventure and well-being.
- On our last day, after checking out of our accommodation, we will move to the picturesque town of Santa Cruz, where we will enjoy the full view of the Barren Islands and the fascinating spectacle of landing planes.

Take a trip to Madeira Carnival, one of the largest street festivals in Portugal, reminiscent of the streets of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The whole festival lasts almost 2 weeks with various street performances and tastings of traditional delicacies in different cities of the island. We visit the main event, the carnival parade in the capital Funchal on Saturday evening, where dancers in colourful costumes accompany decorated floats to the rhythms of the samba. It's a real spectacle.
Festival of Flowers (stay 28 April - 6 May and 6 May - 14 May)
Festival of Flowers (1 May - 25 May 2025) is one of Madeira's most visited festivals and one of its most beautiful. This is because Madeira has a wealth of beautiful flowers in bloom at this time, which the locals use to decorate the streets. The highlight of the whole celebration is the allegorical parade through Funchal on Sunday 4 May, where richly decorated floats pass by. Children, ladies and gentlemen are dressed in beautiful floral dresses and hats, all accompanied by cheerful music and dancers. In the streets we can admire flower displays and visit flower and souvenir stalls. Music performances, workshops and various themed exhibitions complete the festival. Then on Sunday, May 11, the Madeira Veterans Flower Parade awaits us, where we will see carefully restored vintage cars decorated with fresh flowers, the parade participants dressed in period clothes, the whole parade accompanied by live music and a cheerful mood that fills the streets of the city.
Medieval Market (stay 2.6. - 10.6.)
The medieval market in Machico is an amazing spectacle. This festival,where you feel like you are watching a historical film, brings to life the atmosphere of the 15th and 16th centuries. It takes us back to the time of overseas discovery, when Madeira was first settled. We will meet sailors in period costumes, merchants, aristocrats, common people and slaves, as well as spice maidens, beautiful dancers and witches. It is as if we have truly returned to the past, when the Portuguese were exploring the world and trading in sugar cane. All accompanied by lively period music, dance and various performances. In addition, we will taste local specialties that will bring us closer to the traditional tastes and smells of Madeira of yesteryear.

For the adventurous, there's the option of cetacean watching with marine biologists or cruising on a replica of the Caravel Santa Maria. There are more than enough activities! - If the weather really cooperates, we can spend the afternoon instead of visiting the towns - on the sandy beach in Calheta:).
- At the end of our stay we will have the icing on the cake - trek along the beautiful and dramatic São Lourenço Peninsula to Cape St. Lawrence, located on the easternmost tip of the island. We are treated to breathtaking colourful cliffs, steep cliffs and the vast ocean that surrounds the entire peninsula. This trip is a real adventure for nature lovers.
- Once we reach the very end, we have a snack and depending on the weather and our appetite, we either head back on our own or, as a reward, take a boat ride along the coast with beautiful rock caves dug by the ocean itself back to the harbor.

- On arrival in Madeira, I will pick you up at the airport and we will go to accommodate. We will have a car and driver at our disposal during the whole stay.
- We will take a short tour of the area and have a welcome drink.
- In the morning we will head to the capital of Madeira - Funchal. First, we will visit the Botanical Garden with almost three thousand species of plants from all over the world, which stretches high in the hills and offers us an unforgettable view over the city.
- We then drive down to the old town itself, the Zona Velha, where we get a glimpse of the traditional farmers' market Mercado dos Lavradores, full of flowers, exotic fruits, spices and fish.
- Walk down an alleyway filled with Santa Maria artwork, stopping for lunch at one of the many local restaurants along the way.
- Next, we will enjoy a view of the old town from the 17th century São Tiago Fortress.
- From here, we weave through the old town, through Columbus Square to the Cathedral of Sé from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, and then down the bustling Avenida Arriaga street to the port where luxury ocean cruise ships often dock.
- We end our walk at the museum of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, a famous native of Madeira.

- Today we're going high into the mountains. We will visit the 3rd highest peak of Madeira Pico do Areeiro (1818 m), where we will have spectacular views (often above the clouds) of the majestic mountain range, from here we will see the highest mountains of the whole island.
- We then descend to the village of Ribeiro Frío, in the central part of Madeira, where we will take a short walk along the levadas to the sight of Balcões.
- Next we will visit Porto da Cruz, where we will have lunch and then a walk with breathtaking views over the high cliffs of the northeast coast. Finally, we stop at the historic Engenho do Norte sugar mill and "rum house" for a tasting of local rums made from sugar cane.
