Welcome to Sicily! Pick up your car at the airport, and if you have time, head to Etna, where you can take a walk and be captivated by the power of nature. Then, head to breathtaking Taormina, where you can soak up the atmosphere of Sicily and fall in love with this incredible town. However, if you arrive late or are tired, head straight to your accommodation and start exploring Sicily from the next day.

You will ascend to the Chiesa Madonna della Rocca church via historic steps, from where you will have breathtaking views of the entire town of Taormina, the sea, and the surrounding mountains. Afterward, you will visit the iconic Teatro Antico di Taormina, where ancient history merges with the beautiful Sicilian nature and views of Etna. This will be the perfect moment to taste the first traditional delicacies (such as Arancini or sweet Cannoli). Then, you will stop at the fairytale island of Isola Bella and head towards the picturesque Cefalù, where you will enjoy a stroll through the streets, relaxation by the sea, and the true atmosphere of northern Sicily. In the evening, you will arrive in Palermo, which has a unique atmosphere after dark and is definitely worth an evening walk.

Start your day in Palermo at the legendary Mercato Ballarò morning markets, where you'll be immersed in the true Sicilian atmosphere, the scent of fresh fruit, and local specialties. I definitely recommend tasting the fresh orange juice and other goodies, as this is where you'll experience Palermo in its most authentic form. Then, head towards the sea past the aristocratic palaces, the green oasis of Orto Botanico di Palermo, and the historical Palazzo Chiaramonte Steri. At the port, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, have lunch overlooking the sea, and visit the Castello a Mare fortress. In the afternoon, return to the historical center past the famous Teatro Massimo and the main streets full of life. End your day at the iconic Quattro Canti and the majestic Palermo Cathedral, one of the most beautiful monuments in the entire city.

In the morning, enjoy the atmosphere of Palermo one last time, go to the morning markets for fresh strawberries, or indulge in a relaxing Sicilian breakfast. Then head to the beautiful Mondello beach, which will enchant you with its turquoise blue sea, white sand, and peaceful Mediterranean atmosphere with mountains in the distance. From the sea, head to the Sicilian interior to the ancient site of Segesta, where you will find a monumental temple and the famous Theater of Segesta surrounded by beautiful scenery. If you arrive before closing time, you will experience this magical place almost without people.

You'll start at the iconic white cliffs of Scala dei Turchi, one of the most exceptional places in all of Sicily. This stunning natural formation will enchant you with its white stone, sea views and unique appearance. Then, you'll head to the monumental archaeological site of the Valley of the Temples, where you can stroll among the beautifully preserved ancient temples and soak up thousands of years of history. In the evening, you'll arrive in Catania, which has a completely different energy after dark. The historic streets, lively atmosphere, music, laughter, pasta, seafood and nightlife make Catania the perfect place for a final evening stroll.

If you have time on your last day before departure, I recommend taking a walk through the historical center of Catania and then heading to the airport depending on your departure time. The main point of the walk is the majestic Cattedrale di Sant'Agata, which is located right in the heart of the city. If the weather is nice and Etna is not hidden in the clouds, I definitely recommend climbing to the gallery of the Chiesa della Badia di Sant'Agata, which offers a wonderful view of the city and Etna itself. Before departure, you can also stop at the iconic Prestipino Cafè and taste traditional Sicilian cipollina or other local specialties. Then a relaxing journey home awaits you, and perhaps the realization that this trip was definitely not your last visit to Sicily.
