This viewpoint named after a former German emperor is another popular place to watch the sunset. But the views of the surrounding area are impressive even during the day. It is located in the village of Pelekas and has a telescope at the top, which is why it is sometimes referred to as an observatory. It was built in 1907 and the Emperor is said to have visited it every time he was on the island 🌍

Holy Monastery of Panagia Vlacherna

Another alternative way to make the most of the time before your flight is to visit the stylish Vlacherna Monastery. It is located just outside Kerkyra in the resort of Kanoni. Admission is free. The monastery is built on an islet connected by a causeway to the mainland. Great to watch the planes from here 🛫
