Your adventure begins as soon as you arrive at Rome Fiumicino Airport, where you pick up your rental car. And then? Your first stop is the picturesque town of Vitorchiano, where you'll check in. The drive along the Italian motorway is an experience in itself - smooth asphalt like a carpet, with breathtaking scenery alternating outside the windows. Hills, vineyards, olive groves... Every kilometre draws you deeper into the magical atmosphere of Lazio and Tuscany. And that's just the beginning!
Pick up your luggage and head outside the airport to pick up your rental car. Follow the instructions that were sent to you before the trip.
On the way to your accommodation, you can stop in this charming town in the Lazio region near Viterbo. It lies on a rocky spur of volcanic tuff and is known for its very well-preserved historical center, which is one of the most beautiful in the area. Of interest is the stone district called Borgo Sospeso, which looks as if it grows directly from the rock. The city has a strong connection with the papal history of the Middle Ages and still retains an authentic atmosphere. An unusual attraction is also a real moai statue from Easter Island, which is the only one of its kind in Italy.
Start with an unforgettable experience - a barefoot tour of the Five Senses Park (Parco Cinque Sensi). During a two-hour walk, you will experience what it is like to perceive nature with all your senses. If you like the park, you can stay here all day!
In the afternoon, a mysterious atmosphere awaits you at Sacro Bosco, a park full of monumental statues of ghosts and mythical creatures. Both parks are located near Vitorchiano, so after visiting them you can enjoy a pleasant walk around the city or have lunch. And what to taste? You can't do without chestnuts, nuts, wine and excellent extra virgin olive oil here. We recommend trying local pasta, vegetable soups or homemade biscuits such as tozzetti and ciambelle al vino.
End the day on a magical farm near Orvieto, where animals live almost freely and you can fully enjoy their presence. A perfect place to relax after a day full of experiences!
A guided tour of the barefoot path is a unique experience that lasts approximately two hours. During it, you will not only walk barefoot on various natural surfaces, but also prepare bread on a stick yourself and bake it over a fire. You will be accompanied throughout by an experienced guide who will introduce you to the forest from a completely new perspective – you will get to know its inhabitants, learn to perceive nature with all your senses and discover its hidden secrets.
The tour must be booked at least 24 hours in advance and you can take it every day from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You can bring your own snack, or order lunch as part of the program - you can choose from a barbecue or a picnic. In this case, the price is €30 for an adult and €20 for a child.
Here you can book in advance the option that suits you best.

This day will start relaxed. A trip to Orvieto awaits you, a picturesque historical town with an amazing atmosphere. Here you can enjoy local specialties for lunch and take a look at the unique Well of St. Patrick, which reaches a depth of 54 meters and is one of the most remarkable buildings of its kind. After the tour, you will move to another charming town, where you will stay in an agritourism for two nights. The following days will be full of experiences, but now is the perfect time to relax and soak up the atmosphere of the Italian countryside. In the afternoon, you will move to Torre Alfina Castle. This historic castle with Gothic elements provides you with a fascinating insight into the past and offers an unforgettable view of the surrounding landscape.
If you go for lunch in this town, I recommend trying the Umbricelli. It's a homemade pasta similar to spaghetti.
One of the most impressive places in Orvieto is the Well of Saint Patrizio, a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. With a depth of 54 metres, it takes you into an underground world where you can climb a spiral staircase of 250 steps to the very bottom. The entire structure is designed to allow easy movement of the people and animals that once carried water up and down.
Other nearby attractions:
After exploring the well, you can take a walk to the city park, where you can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. There is also a playground for families with children, perfect for a short stop before continuing your journey.

Acquapendente is a small historical town in northern Lazio, located on the Via Francigena pilgrimage route near the border with Tuscany. It is best known for the Santo Sepolcro Basilica, which houses a rare relic associated with the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The town has a peaceful atmosphere and a well-preserved center with stone houses and narrow streets, where it is pleasant to stroll around and soak up the historical atmosphere. For families with children, there is the interesting Museo del Fiore, a small interactive museum about nature and flowers, where children can playfully discover plants and insects. And if you still have time in the afternoon, you can go to the nearby Lake Bolsena, feed the ducks and enjoy the peaceful nature.

The Bosco del Sasseto looks straight out of a Snow White fairy tale – the path is lined with stones covered in moss and ferns, creating a magical atmosphere. If you want to go on this fairy-tale excursion, you will have the opportunity to explore the forest with a guide who will introduce you to all the secrets of this place.
The excursion must be booked one day in advance, on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The route is approximately 3 km long and is often supplemented with animations with fairy-tale characters (if you wish). Unfortunately, strollers are not allowed on the walk, so be prepared for a comfortable walk. More information and booking options (by phone or email) can be found here.
In the afternoon, you can take a tour of this castle. You need to check the calendar in advance to see what time and when a tour of the castle is available. If you don't want to go inside, at least take a walk around the beautiful surroundings of the castle. Every month there are different opening days and hours. After visiting these places, I recommend going for lunch to the nearby restaurant Da Ciccio e la Capannaccia.
This restaurant is located in the middle of nature, the environment is perfectly suitable for children. You can sit inside or outside. You can taste typical cuisine from Lazio and Tuscany here.
If you are looking for a place to completely relax, Cascate di Mulino is the place to be – natural hot springs that are open 24 hours a day, all year round, and free! You can enjoy a bath in the warm mineral water, even in colder weather, as the water is pleasantly hot. Just a few meters from the thermal waters there is a bar where you can change and use the toilets.
However, if the weather is not ideal, you can move to the indoor spa at Spa Terme di Saturnia. Admission is €26 per person on normal days, €31 on weekends and holidays, and afternoon admission is €21. Children up to 1 meter tall have free admission.
Whether you opt for natural spas or indoor thermal baths, be sure not to miss the sunset immersed in the warm springs - it's a truly unforgettable experience!
