Even if you don't go inside for the exhibits, the building itself is incredible. Walking on the curved, wave-like roof was such a cool experience!
The tower looks like something straight out of a postcard, especially with the water surrounding it on all sides. We spent so much time just taking pictures from different angles on the walkway. It’s super relaxing to sit nearby on the stone steps, listen to the waves, and watch the boats go by.🌊🛥️🏰
You really don't grasp how massive this monument is until you're standing right at the base looking up at all those carved stone figures! It’s awesome to just walk around it and take in the scale.
This square is such a peaceful place to take a breath and just sit for a bit. The gardens are beautifully kept, and the central fountain makes it feel super relaxed. It’s the perfect spot to rest your feet, people-watch, and grab some shade between visiting the monastery and the tower.🌳⛲️
Hands down one of the most beautiful buildings I’ve ever seen. Walking through the inner cloisters feels so peaceful and magic.⛪️
Cervejaria Liberdade Restaurant - The food is great and it's a lovely spot for a couple🧆🍟🥂
For ones who love to walk.🚶🏽♀️
But, of course, there is always Taxi/Uber as an option.🚕
Get ready to discover the heart of Lisbon, where historic landmarks, charming streets and beautiful viewpoints come together. Start the day by exploring some of the city's famous elevators and viewpoints before passing by Monumento aos Restauradores and Praça Dom Pedro IV. Take a relaxing coffe break at Starbucks, then continue towards the iconic Santa Justa Lift and the colorful Pink and Blue streets. Wander through Praça Luís de Camões and visit the Vasilica of Our Lady of the Martyrs before making your way to the grand Commerce Square and the equestrian statue of King José I. Later, explore the charming streets of Alfama, enjoy the views from Largo Portas do Sol and finish the day at the historic São Vicente de Fora. On this day, most of the time is walking, because every place it's pretty much near each other, but, of course you can always use taxi if you're not a walk type of person.
This is probably the most iconic street in Lisbon and a total must-see! Watching the cute yellow funicular squeeze up the steep, narrow hill towards the ocean view at the bottom is amazing. It gets super busy, so try to go early in the morning to get those clean photos without the crowds.🚊
This is the oldest funicular in the city and way less crowded than Bica. It has a super charming, local feel to it.
You can't miss this massive obelisk right in the center of the square. Standing at the base and looking up at the intricate details is really impressive, plus it marks the entrance to the famous Avenida da Liberdade. It’s a great meeting point and landmark to navigate the city.
Stop for a coffe break☕️
The heart of the city and a great spot to people-watch! I loved the famous wavy black-and-white stone pavement - it almost looks like water moving under your feet.
This massive wrought-iron elevator looks like something straight out of Paris! Standing in the middle of the city streets, it’s a total head-turner. The queue to ride it can get pretty long, but viewing it from the bottom and taking photos of its industrial gothic design is an absolute must.
Perfect little place for unusual photos. Blue lovers!💙
This square has such a lively, vibrant atmosphere! It sits right between Chiado and Bairro Alto, making it the perfect spot to rest after shopping or before heading out for dinner. There’s almost always street performers or musicians playing here, giving it a great vibe.
It’s quiet, peaceful, and a lovely escape from the busy shopping streets.
Perfect little place for unusual photos. Pink lovers!🩷
This huge, yellow-tinted square opening right onto the river is grand and breathtaking. Walking through the massive arch and stepping out into the open space with the ocean breeze in your face is an awesome feeling. It's super spacious and perfect for an afternoon stroll along the water.
Standing right in the middle of Commerce Square, this bronze statue is huge and really grounds the whole space. It looks stunning against the backdrop of the river and the yellow buildings.
Hands down my favorite neighborhood in Lisbon. Getting lost in these narrow, winding alleys with colorful tiles, laundry hanging overhead, and faint Fado music in the background feels like stepping back in time.
The view is incredible. I can just imagine what is like when it's sunny outside.
This monastery was one of the biggest surprises of the trip. The church itself is beautiful. Plus, the view over Alfama and the river from the rooftop terrace is one of the best in the city!
Again, if you don't want to walk, you can use Taxi/Uber.🚕
Slow down and enjoy Lisbon at a more relaxed pace. Spend the day wandering throygh the city, taking in its charming streets, beautiful architecture and lively atmosphere.🗺️🚶🏽♀️💆🏽♀️ If you have time before flight, visit Jardim Amália Rodrigues, a peaceful green space offering lovely views over Lisbon and continue to Parque Eduardo VII, one of the city's most iconic parks. Take your time to explore, enjoy the scenery and soak up the atmosphere of Lisbon before bringing your trip to a relaxed and memorable close. Adjust the plan to fit your departure time.
A lovely, elevated park sitting right above Parque Eduardo VII. It’s much quieter than the main park, with a nice little lake and a café. Sitting on the grass here gives you a sweeping, uninterrupted view all the way down the avenue to the river - a perfect spot for a relaxed break. You can make one big circle around it.🪴
The view from the top of this park looking down the massive green hedge maze toward the river is absolutely iconic! It’s a bit of a climb to get to the highest point, but standing next to the large Portuguese flag with the entire city spread out below you is totally worth it.😍
App for Taxi/Uber to the airport.🚕 Be sure to arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight. Have a safe flight home.
