On this peninsula in the east of the island there is a volcanic landscape with minimal vegetation. A hike through this area will take you over cliffs with panoramic views of the ocean. At the end of the trail you will find an amazing viewpoint with the possibility of resting. This place is ideal for wildlife lovers. 

Ponta de São Lourenço Lighthouse is located at the easternmost point of Madeira and symbolizes the wild natural beauty of this peninsula. Its location on a rocky outcrop overlooking the endless Atlantic makes it an ideal place for nature and photography lovers. The surrounding area offers dramatic scenery with sharp cliffs and minimal vegetation, differing from the rest of the island. 

Ponta do Bode is a lesser known but equally fascinating place that will surprise you with its unspoilt natural beauty. The area is ideal for quiet walks and watching the marine life in the surrounding waters. Its location amongst the rocky outcrops provides spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and ocean. 

Machico is one of the oldest towns on the island, where the first explorers of Madeira landed in 1419. The historic centre with the Igreja Matriz de Machico church will enchant you. Machico also offers one of the few sandy beaches in Madeira where you can relax and swim in the calm waters of the bay. 

Santana is a traditional village known for its colourful triangular houses with thatched roofs. These houses, called "palheiros", are an iconic symbol of Madeira. The village also has a small museum and restaurants offering local specialities. The pleasant atmosphere of this place will delight you. 

Pico do Arieiro is Madeira's third highest peak at 1,818 metres and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. At sunrise or sunset you can see the unforgettable "sea of clouds". For the more adventurous traveller, there is the option to continue the trek towards Pico Ruivo, the highest peak on the island. 🌄🌌

This hiking route takes you to Madeira's highest peak, Pico Ruivo, which rises to 1,862 metres. It starts at Pico do Arieiro and runs approximately 5.3 km in one direction. The route is moderately challenging but will reward you with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, dramatic rock formations and valleys shrouded in a misty haze. The summit offers panoramic views of the entire island, including neighbouring peaks and coastline. The ascent of Pico Ruivo is an unforgettable experience for nature lovers and hikers. 🏔️🌅

Seixal is a small village known for its black sand beach Praia do Seixal. It is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and lush vegetation. Nearby you'll find natural pools and the Ribeira de Água d'Alto waterfall, which falls directly into the ocean. 🌴🌊

Fanal Forest is an enchanted forest in the Laurisilva area that resembles a scene from a fairy tale. The old laurel trees covered with moss create a mystical atmosphere, especially in foggy weather. This place is ideal for a leisurely stroll and relaxation in nature. 🌳🌫️

Porto Moniz is a town famous for its natural volcanic pools, which were formed by volcanic activity. These pools are ideal for safe swimming in sea water. There are also several restaurants in the area where you can taste fresh fish and seafood. 🏖️🌀

Ponta do Pargo is the westernmost tip of Madeira, Ponta do Pargo is where you will be enchanted by the wildlife and majestic views of the endless Atlantic Ocean. 🌊🏞️

Levada das 25 Fontes is one of the most popular levadas in Madeira, which takes you to an enchanting waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. The path is lined with 25 springs that create a magical atmosphere. This trek is great for nature lovers. The circular route is 4.6 km long and the trek takes about 3 hours. Prazeres is a picturesque village in the southwest of Madeira, popular for its peaceful atmosphere and spectacular ocean views. Visit the local farm, Quinta Pedagógica, where you can learn about traditional farming and sample local specialities such as honey and homemade jams. 🐑🍯

Ponta do Sol is the town with the most sunny days on the island, ideal for relaxing. Here you will find beautiful beaches and a promenade lined with palm trees. Visit the historic centre with the Igreja de Nossa Senhora lda Luz church and enjoy the sunset from one of the local cafes. ☀️🏝️

Boca da Encumeada is a mountain pass that connects the northern and southern coasts of Madeira. From the viewpoint here you can admire the contrast between the green valleys and the blue ocean on both sides of the island. This place is ideal for a short stop and a photo shoot. You can walk here from the village of Achada, it's 2.5 km (1.15 min) 👉 HERE ⛰️ ☀️

Ribeira Brava is a picturesque town in the southwest of the island with a beautiful promenade along the coast. Visit the church of São Bento with its colourful azulejos and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the place. ⛪🏖️

Cabo Girão is one of the highest sea cliffs in the world, rising 580 metres above sea level. At its summit is a glass platform that provides an adrenaline rush and amazing views of the ocean. Below the reef are vineyards and small villages. 🌊

Eira do Serrado is a lookout located at 1,095 metres, offering breathtaking views of the village of Curral das Freiras deep in the valley. This place is ideal for photography enthusiasts. The access road is winding, but the views are worth it. ⛰️📸

The capital of Madeira is the ideal place to start your trip. Explore the historic centre with its narrow cobbled streets and traditional houses. Visit the local market, Mercado dos Lavradores, where you can sample fresh tropical fruits and local delicacies. Also worth a visit is the Sé Cathedral, a unique mix of Gothic and Manueline styles. In the evening, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of one of the local restaurants. 🍇✨

Monte is a historic part of Funchal with beautiful gardens and the famous Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Monte pilgrimage chapel. Here you can try the traditional sleigh ride "carros de cesto", which is a unique attraction of the island. 🌳🛷
