Vergina hides one of the most significant archaeological discoveries of the 20th century – the original, unlooted tomb of King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great.

From the flat plains of Thessaly, giant, dark rock towers rise up to 400 meters into the sky. Perched atop these inaccessible monoliths are centuries-old Orthodox monasteries that look as if they were carved by the gods themselves and are floating in the clouds (after all, the Greek word Meteora means "suspended in the air"). Enjoy these monasteries during the day, but also in the evening at sunset.
