If your arrival time allows and you have the energy, you can get straight to exploring Hanoi at night.
Start with a walk around the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, where you can visit Ngoc Son Temple pagoda.
Next to the lake you will find a unique Vietnamese puppet water theatre, which you will not see anywhere else in the world outside Vietnam. You can marvel at the perfect interplay of a live orchestra and the unique puppet technology that allows the performance to take place on the water.

If you arrive on a weekday and want to see a train passing in the famous "Train Street", I recommend going there tonight. The train only runs during the day on weekends.

Well, you can end the evening in the famous "street food & beer street", which is very lively every night. You can have a local Hanoi beer or sample some of the local street food, which you will find in abundance around the "Old Square".
Hanoi is markedly different from other Asian capitals: it combines cultural influences from China, France and northern Vietnam, which is rapidly modernising. However, it will definitely impress you with its history. At the heart of the city is the picturesque Old Quarter: a labyrinth of streets, some of which are more than 1,000 years old.
Spend a full day walking around Hanoi's most interesting and photogenic sites to soak up the culture, local architecture, markets, history - in short, soak up the vibe of Vietnam's capital city of 8 million people.
At the same time, you'll sample traditional culinary specialties such as Pho Bo soup, Bun Chá, and the popular Bàn Mi baguette among locals.
After an early dinner, you'll board a sleeper bus and head to the northern Vietnamese mountain town of Sa Pa, where you'll stay in comfortable rooms near the centre.

Well, if you have a panicky fear of motorcycles, that's fine too. You can also do the circuit in a car/van. In this case, book a transport (car or in case of more people, a van) at the reception, which will take you to Dong Van town the next morning (about 5 hours away), where you will check in (again, the reception staff can book the accommodation for you) and bring you back to Ha Giang Loop hostel the next day.

If you've gone on a motorbike tour, after a hearty breakfast you'll get back on your motorbikes and explore another part of the beautiful Ha Giang Loop, where you'll admire the photogenic serpentines, rice plantations, mountains, rivers ... and in the afternoon you will return to the hostel, take your backpacks and after dinner you will board the night bus, which will be your quarters this time. I recommend ending the trip with a hike to Mua Cave - ideally before sunset. The cave is compared to the "Great Wall of China". Climb the 500 steps to the top for a spectacular view of Ninh Binh and an amazing panoramic view of Tam Coc.

The Hue Imperial Citadel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From 1802 until the fall of the dynasty in 1945, it served as the political and cultural centre of the Nguyen dynasty, Vietnam's last royal dynasty, and is definitely worth a visit.

Option 1: If you can't wait for the sea, don't hesitate, get on your bike and head towards An Bang Beach. On the way, you can stop at the nearby traditional Tra Que Vegetable Village along the way. Here you can get a glimpse of the traditional cultivation of a variety of vegetables.
Option 2: If you want to experience something more traditional, I recommend cycling to another tourist village where you can ride down the river in bamboo baskets. It's a tourist attraction, but it can be fun.

This holy site was built between the 4th and 14th centuries by the Cham Dynasty and served as the religious and cultural center of the Cham Empire. There are hundreds of towers, buildings and statues combining Hindu and Buddhist influences. My Son was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. The site is a fascinating testament to Vietnam's rich cultural heritage.

If your arrival time allows and you have the energy, you can get straight to exploring Hanoi at night.
Start with a walk around the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, where you can visit Ngoc Son Temple pagoda.
Next to the lake you will find a unique Vietnamese puppet water theatre, which you will not see anywhere else in the world outside Vietnam. You can marvel at the perfect interplay of a live orchestra and the unique puppet technology that allows the performance to take place on the water.

If you arrive on a weekday and want to see a train passing in the famous "Train Street", I recommend going there tonight. The train only runs during the day on weekends.

Well, you can end the evening in the famous "street food & beer street", which is very lively every night. You can have a local Hanoi beer or sample some of the local street food, which you will find in abundance around the "Old Square".
Hanoi is markedly different from other Asian capitals: it combines cultural influences from China, France and northern Vietnam, which is rapidly modernising. However, it will definitely impress you with its history. At the heart of the city is the picturesque Old Quarter: a labyrinth of streets, some of which are more than 1,000 years old.
Spend a full day walking around Hanoi's most interesting and photogenic sites to soak up the culture, local architecture, markets, history - in short, soak up the vibe of Vietnam's capital city of 8 million people.
At the same time, you'll sample traditional culinary specialties such as Pho Bo soup, Bun Chá, and the popular Bàn Mi baguette among locals.
After an early dinner, you'll board a sleeper bus and head to the northern Vietnamese mountain town of Sa Pa, where you'll stay in comfortable rooms near the centre.

I recommend ending the trip with a hike to Mua Cave - ideally before sunset. The cave is compared to the "Great Wall of China". Climb the 500 steps to the top for a spectacular view of Ninh Binh and an amazing panoramic view of Tam Coc.

The Hue Imperial Citadel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From 1802 until the fall of the dynasty in 1945, it served as the political and cultural centre of the Nguyen dynasty, Vietnam's last royal dynasty, and is definitely worth a visit.

This holy site was built between the 4th and 14th centuries by the Cham Dynasty and served as the religious and cultural center of the Cham Empire. There are hundreds of towers, buildings and statues combining Hindu and Buddhist influences. My Son was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. The site is a fascinating testament to Vietnam's rich cultural heritage.

Ba Na Hills is a magical hilltop complex that evokes a mixture of excitement and awe. After letting the cable car take you through the cloud forests, at an altitude of 1,487 metres above sea level, you will find yourself in a dreamland of endless experiences.
The gardens, climate and architecture here will remind you of a fairy tale world, but above all a perfect imitation of European architecture.
You can also walk across the iconic bridge, which is surmounted by a golden stone statue in the shape of a hand. If the weather cooperates, unforgettable views await. Children will also enjoy the amusement park.

If your arrival time allows and you have the energy, you can get straight to exploring Hanoi at night.
Start with a walk around the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, where you can visit Ngoc Son Temple pagoda.
Next to the lake you will find a unique Vietnamese puppet water theatre, which you will not see anywhere else in the world outside Vietnam. You can marvel at the perfect interplay of a live orchestra and the unique puppet technology that allows the performance to take place on the water.

If you arrive on a weekday and want to see a train passing in the famous "Train Street", I recommend going there tonight. The train only runs during the day on weekends.

Well, you can end the evening in the famous "street food & beer street", which is very lively every night. You can have a local Hanoi beer or sample some of the local street food, which you will find in abundance around the "Old Square".
Hanoi is markedly different from other Asian capitals: it combines cultural influences from China, France and northern Vietnam, which is rapidly modernising. However, it will definitely impress you with its history. At the heart of the city is the picturesque Old Quarter: a labyrinth of streets, some of which are more than 1,000 years old.
Spend a full day walking around Hanoi's most interesting and photogenic sites to soak up the culture, local architecture, markets, history - in short, soak up the vibe of Vietnam's capital city of 8 million people.
At the same time, you'll sample traditional culinary specialties such as Pho Bo soup, Bun Chá, and the popular Bàn Mi baguette among locals.
After an early dinner, you'll board a sleeper bus and head to the northern Vietnamese mountain town of Sa Pa, where you'll stay in comfortable rooms near the centre.

Well, if you have a panicky fear of motorcycles, that's fine too. You can also do the circuit in a car/van. If you've gone on a motorbike tour, after a hearty breakfast you'll get back on your motorbikes and explore another part of the beautiful Ha Giang Loop, where you'll admire the photogenic serpentines, rice plantations, mountains, rivers ... and in the afternoon you will return to the hostel, take your backpacks and after dinner you will board the night bus, which will be your quarters this time. I recommend ending the trip with a hike to Mua Cave - ideally before sunset. The cave is compared to the "Great Wall of China". Climb the 500 steps to the top for a spectacular view of Ninh Binh and an amazing panoramic view of Tam Coc.

The Hue Imperial Citadel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From 1802 until the fall of the dynasty in 1945, it served as the political and cultural centre of the Nguyen dynasty, Vietnam's last royal dynasty, and is definitely worth a visit.

Option 1: If you can't wait for the sea, don't hesitate, get on your bike and head towards An Bang Beach. On the way, you can stop at the nearby traditional Tra Que Vegetable Village along the way. Here you can get a glimpse of the traditional cultivation of a variety of vegetables.

If your arrival time allows and you have the energy, you can get straight to exploring Hanoi at night.
Start with a walk around the beautiful Hoan Kiem Lake, where you can visit Ngoc Son Temple pagoda.
Next to the lake you will find a unique Vietnamese puppet water theatre, which you will not see anywhere else in the world outside Vietnam. You can marvel at the perfect interplay of a live orchestra and the unique puppet technology that allows the performance to take place on the water.

If you arrive on a weekday and want to see a train passing in the famous "Train Street", I recommend going there tonight. The train only runs during the day on weekends.

Well, you can end the evening in the famous "street food & beer street", which is very lively every night. You can have a local Hanoi beer or sample some of the local street food, which you will find in abundance around the "Old Square".
Hanoi is markedly different from other Asian capitals: it combines cultural influences from China, France and northern Vietnam, which is rapidly modernising. However, it will definitely impress you with its history. At the heart of the city is the picturesque Old Quarter: a labyrinth of streets, some of which are more than 1,000 years old.
Spend a full day walking around Hanoi's most interesting and photogenic sites to soak up the culture, local architecture, markets, history - in short, soak up the vibe of Vietnam's capital city of 8 million people.
At the same time, you'll sample traditional culinary specialties such as Pho Bo soup, Bun Chá, and the popular Bàn Mi baguette among locals.
After an early dinner, you'll board a sleeper bus and head to the northern Vietnamese mountain town of Sa Pa, where you'll stay in comfortable rooms near the centre.

Well, if you have a panicky fear of motorcycles, that's fine too. You can also do the circuit in a car/van. I recommend ending the trip with a hike to Mua Cave - ideally before sunset. The cave is compared to the "Great Wall of China". Climb the 500 steps to the top for a spectacular view of Ninh Binh and an amazing panoramic view of Tam Coc.

Option 1: If you can't wait for the sea, don't hesitate, get on your bike and head towards An Bang Beach. On the way, you can stop at the nearby traditional Tra Que Vegetable Village along the way. Here you can get a glimpse of the traditional cultivation of a variety of vegetables.

On your return, you can stroll the picturesque streets of Hoi An as the sun sets, shop for souvenirs, sample local specialties, and relax with a coffee at one of the many cafes in the city centre.
For dinner, you can go to one of the picturesque restaurants or try the local street food at the night market.
After dinner, I definitely recommend taking a legendary boat ride on the river lit up with hundreds of colourful lanterns.
In the morning after breakfast, I recommend going to one of the most important archaeological complexes in Southeast Asia - the stunning ruins of My Son Sanctury, reminiscent in places of Cambodia's Ankor Wat complex, and then on the way to Da Nang you can stop at Ba Na Hills - a giant replica of European architecture and an amusement park atop the world's longest cable car.

This holy site was built between the 4th and 14th centuries by the Cham Dynasty and served as the religious and cultural center of the Cham Empire. There are hundreds of towers, buildings and statues combining Hindu and Buddhist influences. My Son was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. The site is a fascinating testament to Vietnam's rich cultural heritage.

Ba Na Hills is a magical hilltop complex that evokes a mixture of excitement and awe. After letting the cable car take you through the cloud forests, at an altitude of 1,487 metres above sea level, you will find yourself in a dreamland of endless experiences.
The gardens, climate and architecture here will remind you of a fairy tale world, but above all a perfect imitation of European architecture.
You can also walk across the iconic bridge, which is surmounted by a golden stone statue in the shape of a hand. If the weather cooperates, unforgettable views await. Children will also enjoy the amusement park.
