After landing at Velana International Airport, you'll be greeted by warm tropical air and your first glimpse of the turquoise lagoons💙, a sure sign that your vacation has just begun.🌴 Once you've cleared entry formalities, there's no need to rush. Instead of an expensive transfer to Malé, hop on a bus to the nearby island of Hulhumalé, which is connected to the airport by a bridge and offers convenient and affordable accommodation.
Day 2
After breakfast, take the bus back to the airport 🚌. If you have booked a speedboat through your accommodation on Ukulhas, you will receive information in advance about the departure time and the location from where the boat leaves ⛵. If not, purchase your speedboat trip yourself. Upon arrival at the airport, get off at the Airport Bus Stop (line 01) and continue on foot (just a few steps) to the jetty where speedboats to individual islands depart from 🚶♀️. The route is short and well-marked. Once there, you just need to find your carrier by the company name or ask the local staff at the port 😊. I recommend arriving at least 20–30 minutes before the boat departure ⏰. You will have time to find the right pier, store your luggage, and calmly enjoy your first cruise on the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean towards Ukulhas 🌊✨.
