Upon arrival at Hue airport, you can easily arrange a transfer to the city center using popular ride-hailing apps like Grab or Xanh Sm. The journey to the hotel takes approximately 30 minutes and allows you a first glimpse of the beautiful scenery around the Perfume River. You will be able to conveniently arrange further transfers between sights, beaches and within the city throughout your stay.

Once you've rested after your long journey, you can take your first easy stroll around the city.

I recommend a walk along the peaceful Perfume River, stopping by the Dong Ba local market and soaking up the atmosphere of life in Vietnam away from the main tourist trails. In the evening, you can visit one of the traditional restaurants.

The second day is fully dedicated to exploring what makes Hue so unique - the magnificent Citadel (Imperial City), which served as the seat of the Nguyen dynasty. After breakfast, you'll walk or take a short Xanh Sm or Grab to the main Ngo Mon gate.

Today you'll be taking a train from Hue to Da Nang, and the train is the ideal choice, especially for the stunning views of Lang Co Bay and Hai Van Pass. Train travel in Vietnam is a real experience, but don't worry, when you arrive, a beautiful beach walk and a tip for a great seafood restaurant await.
